Hi guys, my is300 is due an oil change and although I can see the filter it is quite hidden. What is the best way to gain access to it, and is it best to use semi of fully synthetic oil?

I use fully synthetic oil, and the oil filter ... well it is a pain lol ....

I changed it from the top I think ....my oil filter strap ... managed to do movements of 10 degrees .... so it is a slow process.

Make sure you tighten it well as the previous owner when they did oil change did not bother double checking the fliter and it was leaking oil.

Once I tightened it, then it was OK.

I just did it.

You can unscrew the filter from above but it will not come out. I droped the filter somewhere towards rear, then I got it from under the car. Installing new filter was reversed process. I put filter in from under the car and droped it onto steering shaft. Then I picked it up from above and screwed in.

of course, I had car on the lift.
