Front Wheel Bearing Noise , How Can I Re Grease?

Recommended Posts

hi when my is200 is cold i get a wheel bearing noise that gets worse when im cornering to the left , its coming from the passenger side.

ive stripped the caliper off and the disc off , and im left with a hub thingy that looks as its all in one piece , what do i have to do to get to it , theres no play in it , it just seems dry? thanks.

At the rear of the hub is a metal dust cover which if you remove it will reveal amongst the grease a large retaining nut, removing this will allow the hub shaft to be pulled out of the bearing and the ABS ring to come off.

Once the hub flange is removed you will see the bearing seal, remove this and you will see a circlip against the bearing, remove the circlip and then remove the bearing, this may need to be done on a press by a local engineering shop.

You cannot really "regrease" the bearing as it is lubricated at manufacture so replacement is the only option.

Don't tell anyone but 'borrowed" the link from another club :whistling: It's for the SC400 but very similar to the IS200 and gives an idea.
