So has anyone actually seen a difference it performance, MPG or smoothness with a higher ron fuel? My mate swears by it but has a type R so makes sense, but cant imagine it doing much with these engines (IS200/300)

high octane fuels contain high concentrates of internal engine cleaning additives... a clean engine will idle better, will burn cleaner, will burn effectively which = a bit more mpg, high octane will also restore lost engine power and in some cases will give a bit more power in high compression ratio cars or turbo charged cars. and I have just received vouchers from Shell today which includes £5.50 off any fillup. thats almost a gallon of free fuel from Shell i recon its better than super markets spend £50 on food shopping and get 1p off a litre of fuel. :winky:

personally V power gives me smoothness when driving, engine extracts a bit more mpg and I have my ECT PWR activated all the time, and i get to fill up 1 gallon for free every now and again..its a win for me.

oh yes 95 also contains additives but higher ron's contain a bit more! i tend to alternate between 95 and 99.. i use branded 95 most times and give it 99 for a month or two continously then go back to 95 again.. but saying that i have been running 99 for over 6 months now price difference is not a lot if you work it out. about £2.50 more to fill to half tank and £5 more on a full tank..but i never fill up full tank! no point in driving around with excess weight so can let £2.50 slide by..
