2007 Is 250 Side Indicator/repeater Lights

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

Just got my new (used) 2007 IS 250 a couple of days ago. I've just noticed that one of the side/wing indicator/repeater lights has some condensation inside it.

Does a) anyone know how I can get rid of it or b) know how I can remove it? Also, anyone know where I can find some good cheap replacements?

Nothing in the user manual, and I've not had luck googling around and searching this website. Apologies if I've missed it. Any help - much appreciated.

Welcome to LOC Sam.

The side repeaters are sealed units and if condensation has got in then there is a chance that there is a break in the seal somewhere or possibly a hairline crack on the lens itself. If you can locate where the seal is failing you can repair it. Personally i would just buy a replacement, i've seen some on eBay going cheap recently.

It's easily removable, insert a trim removal tool or something like a credit-card to push the tab and pull it out. You need to insert it from the direction of the front of the car towards the back (if that makes sense). Careful not to scratch the paintwork. Mask the area to be safe.

Thx for the warm welcome and a great reply. The replacements on eBay all look to be the wrong shape. There's one used pair on there but that's quite expensive at £40! And I find it strange that euro car parts don't have any.

If anyone knows of any good links, I'm open to suggestions. Thanks.

There's a pair for £39.99 on eBay with a make offer option so i'm sure you can offer around £35 for it. Its second hand from a breakers yard. It's probably the same one you are referring to. Contact your dealer and see how much they are brand new and if its higher than the price of the secondhand pair then the eBay option is definitely a bargain.

EuroCarParts wont sell these as they are specialist panel parts.

Yeah, that was the one I was referring to. Seems a bit much to me, but have contacted a Lexus dealer to ask for a quote. Will report back here, just for completeness of this thread.

I don't understand why it's such a difficult part to get hold of. I've just changed car from an old BMW 7 series, and one was spoilt for choice when it came to third party parts for that thing! And procedures on how to change easy stuff like this.
