Unsure If New Wheels Will Fit Please Help

Recommended Posts

I am looking at getting some 8j or 8.5j rims but I am unsure of how much arch rolling will be needed or if it will be enough, I have lowered the car already on 18s to the point the arch is just above the tyre but am thinking of dropping it lower on the new rims, any advice?

If you can post your present and proposed wheel specifications it may be possible to calculate the difference for the ones you are considering.

Not such a problem on my LS400 as I used to have 17x10 rears and 17x9 fronts but the suspension was standard.

The IS200 got an offset of +43 - which is not good for wide wheels on lowered cars.

Got myself some 18's x 8j all around and Apex lowering springs dropped by 30mm - if I got a full car I can literally fit a paper between the tyres and the arch but thats about it. Anything wider and lower will hit your arch - so rolling is the only answer!
