Hi all on a few long trips I have noticed the engine feeling lumpy when it's been driving for an hour or 2 mainly when going up hill , could this be the egr valve being clogged up.

The cars a 220d 2007 with 60k miles mpg not fab low 40s on a good run

Thanks gary

Welcome to the club Gary, could be egr'dpf related.as you say. Have a read through this thread

http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/78065-lexus-is-diesel-particulate-filter-dpf-problem-solution/

There are quite a few more on forums as well, seems to be a common problem.

Hi all

Finally got round to cleaning the egr valve out and it was fairly clean only a small dusting of build up , so would this suggest the dpf will be the culprit .

Thanks gary

Cheers will give it a try

Did you manage to give it a try?

I don't think it is DPF related, the symptoms are very different to be honest with you.

I would be interested in knowing if that particular additive did any good.

You might be better off with an all rounder IMO as it will clean more internal components which might mean better results all round at the end of the day.
