New Member Needs Advice

Hi

I am a new member and I have a sc 430 2008. I first posted on the sc 430 forum but only got 1 reply so I thought I should try here. I have had the car for almost 1 year and I have done 2500 miles. The last service was when I bought it. Can anyone give me some advice has to when I should have it next serviced also should I take it to a main dealer or an independant garage. The car has got 31500 miles on it. Many thanks to anyone who replies.

Depends. Personally I use main dealers. Helps the car maintain better saleability. What are the servicing intervals in the manual?

depends on the long term

a full dealer service history is always a selling point and may add some value to the car

but good independent service history on a 6 year old car is just as good but may not add value long term

as far as servicing

most service schedules are

for example 12 months or every 12000 miles

which every comes first

so even if you only do 2500 miles a year its still due a service every year

personally i service my cars twice a year and i only do 4-5000 a year

oil and filter change only on one and full service on the other

but i use an independent and the cost is still lower than a single service at a dealer
