Temporarily Disabling Easy Access Feature - 3Rd Gen Is250

Recommended Posts

A nice feature of the latest generation of IS250 is the easy egress, whereby the seat moves back automatically when turning off the engine or unbuckling the driver's seat belt. However, if there is a passenger (human or canine) on the rear seat, or a parcel on the floor, there is a real danger of them being crushed. This is particularly the case if the passenger is frail or infirm, and I get out the car to assist them getting out. Has anyone found a way to disable this feature very temporarily? I know that it is possible to set the amount of seat movement but this is then permanent until reset.

Go into the settings. Itll say something like seat movement and set it to no movement. Theres an option of no movement, partial movement and full movement.

That's not really what I was after. I like the easy access feature but there are occasions when it becomes something undesirable for a very short time, and I suggested the example of getting out of the car to assist someone in the rear seat to get out. This can be difficult if their feet have become pinned in the footwell by the seat having moved to the rear. I was hoping that this might be prevented as a one-off by something quick and easy, and which reverts back when re-starting the car. I can't find anything like this in the manual but the people in this forum are soooooo clever!

Oh right I see. I misunderstood your question, my apologies. As far as I am aware, there is no way to turn it off and have it revert back when the car is turned on. However, you could always speak to your dealer to see what they have to say about it. They might be able to program it in or something!
