Over Revving Motor

Hi all again, and sorry for being a nuisance. However, I've just gotta know why is the motor running at 1200 revs when idling. No AC on only the interior heater fan. Don't get it never owned a car where this would happen. What am I doing wrong. Thanks all.

It's normal - well for this car anyway. Do you notice that the idle drops to around 800rpm when the engine gets up to temperature?

Hi folks I wonded that as well but asked Lexus they said its normal revs drop once temp gauge reaches half,all cars iav had never done this when heater is on only ac is on dont worry theres nothing wrong with car,as this is my 1st lexus I thought the same thing

What sort of mpg r u getting?????? sorry is it diesel or petrol mines diesel im getting 22ishmpg

Most cars rev at 1200rpm at idle when first started and the car is cold...

To low . Driving hard I get 30 mpg . Normal 38 .. motorway 44+

Egr valve needs a clean I think

Yeah if it idles at 1200rpm when warm then that's not normal lol :)
