Opening The Boot

I've always opened my boot using the button on the fob. I've noticed that the lock mechanism on the right hand side of the steering wheel has been depressed (i.e. locked) but the key I have for the ignition doesn't unlock it. I think it might be jammed; it used to work fine. So, it seems that I can't used the internal boot release switch next to the lock at the moment.

I have the original key and, as I said,this used to work fine.

Any solutions? Thanks everyone.
