Hi I am a new member I have Lexus GS 300 1999 .I need to find out if I can use late DVD disc in my car.thanks

I don't think so as yours is cd rom based and not DVD based,however you should be able to check Lexus maps updates web site and see what your latest disc is,hope this helps

I was wondering if people ever shared their Sat-Nav CD's here, or is it banned on this forum without being a gold member? I knew a lot of people who shared their updated maps on Volvo and Audi forums. Something tells me that it's somehow impossible to do so on Lexus as I've never found an answer on this forum.

I understand. So is it possible to copy Lexus Sat-Nav CD for your own back up purposes then? Or are they specially designed so your ordinary CD-Rewriter wouldn't be capable of rewriting it...? I remember a mate of mine was talking about them being dual layered CDs or something along those lines.

I don't know if that's possible but try it with the CD you have. Mike

If its a dual layer burning it will be on a DVD (this effectively doubles the storage capacity to 9Gb or so). Given that you have a 05 is200 you (i think) have the DVD based system. Most current software progs and printer/burners will burn to a dual layer. If you have the DVD there will undoubtedly be a hack around (if one is required at all) to burn your own copy. It was said films could not be copied.... the local markets are full of copies every time I go there!!

I wouldn't bother asking anyone to share a pirated version. Just wanted to ask if it was possible. Yes my Lexus has a DVD based Sat-Nav. Thanks for replying.
