I've recently replaced my old IS250SE with a newer IS250 Advance and have been playing around with the sat nav which I didn't previously have.

Obviously, it's a little long in the tooth by modern standards (low resolution, jerky etc,) and it's route choice is sometimes rather dubious, but I'll forgive it given its age,

However, one slightly odd thing I've noticed is that all road over/underpasses are shown "upside down" i.e. if a road passes over the road I'm on, its shown as passing under me (and vice-versa). So, the database is clearly aware of road height information, but renders it the wrong way around.

Has anyone else noticed this, or is it just a problem with roads around my neck of the woods (East Anglia)?

P.S. I have 2011 road data.

Can't say that I have noticed anything u are describing... As for choice of road I remember on trip to manchester it tried to make us drive through every flipping village and town instead of sticking to motorway, once I got there I checked the setting and it was set to avoid motorway! But other than that it works perfectly.. I have 2007 SE running on 2013 maps.

Does anyone know who provides the map data for the nav system?

I've just got the latest DVD, and the local map is just nonsense - it's missing some main roads that have been there for donkey's years, and has got roads running through fields and across brick walls, where there is no hint of a road ever having been.

I know that Tomtom have a system for reporting map errors, so I'm guessing that whoever the software provider is might have something similar.
