Possible Is300H, Current Bmw Owner...

I'm not sure about the lead thing - my 5 series was newer than my IS220d and had rock solid paint. Granted it wasn't as shiny and had the infamous dreaded German car orange peel, but it scratched and pitted so much less over many many more miles, and I never worried about taking it to the local hand wash.

The Lexus NEVER goes near the local hand-job....

I definitely think it's something more unique to Lexus, though I agree that water based solvents and lead free paint is what they are all using now.

Atleast you dont have to worry about hitting the GS with a heavy polishing compound. All I needed on the RX was a quick pass of Meguiars 205 and 99% of the swirls disappeared

And that is very true - just a good chemical polish (as opposed to abrasive) is all you need....

Just switched to a 300H from a 325i M Sport Coupe and very happy with the move. Tried 3 series, 4 series, A4, C & E class and Jag XF as well as the 300H. Quickly came down to a choice between the 428i M Sport and the 300h F Sport. BMW is faster but IMHO BMWs have become boring. Great cars, just dull. 300H is a much nicer place to sit, lovely cockpit, beautifully put together with top notch materials. Ride is way better than run flat BMWs and handling is just as good at sensible and legal speeds. The drive train tech is amazing and I love the smug feeling of rolling through town on electric with zero emissions and comparable consumption to highly polluting diesels. Strongly recommend the premium nav and leather seats to get the full complement of toys and luxury.

Final comment, started to play a game of counting the number of sightings of the cars I was considering. The most common cars spotted were BMWs. 2 months after I started I still haven't hit double digits for the IS and only 3 other F Sports. If you want exclusive this is the option!

Welcome Jamez, glad you're enjoying the new wheels and the exclusivity of owning a Lexus 300h F Sport. I'm afraid I can't help feeling smug as I silently crawl along, and I've had mine just over a year!
