Ls430 Wheels

Hi all,

There are some LS430 rims on eBay and the seller has told me the tyre size which was on them was 225/45/17.

My chrome rims are losing chrome by the day and now look bad so I was thinking of bidding on these but my tyres are 245/45/17 and 255/40/17 so will they fit these rims?

many thanks,

Steve

Hi Steve, with the tyre size of 225/45/17 the wheels are probably 7 inches wide. Your Celsior, with 245/45/17 is probably fitted with 8 inch wheels. I suspect that it is not a good idea to put 245's on 7in wheels. Did exactly the same thing a couple of weeks ago and now have 4 lovely wheels taking up space in the shed.

Hi Graham,

Thanks for the reply.

I thought this may be the case, my present rims are 9J on the fronts and 9.5J on the rears and as the tyres are all new I didn't want to have to buy more new tyres to fit the rims on eBay.

So I thinks it's back to plan A.
