  1. Unfortunatly she didn't manage to get the full reg but the chances of that car being in the name of the driver are very unlikely according to the Police. Removing the efi fuse sounds like a good idea Chris, I can't imagine that they would hang around for too long if it didn't start. It comes to something when your car isn't safe on your drive all locked up etc!! It reminds me of the good old days when I had XR3I's etc, didn't matter how careful you were, they still went off for a drive during the night!! Glenn
  2. Hi all, just thought I would let you know that some little bar stewards had a go at taking my IS300 last night. I was in bed fast asleep but my wife and Mother in law where down stairs watching tv at about 12.30am. My wife thought she heard something on the drive and looked out of the window and saw 2 lads in a red golf in our drive having a good look at the IS. This may be a stupid thing to do but she ran out side and luckily they jumped back in to the Golf and speeded off. They then kept driving up and down past the end of our Close so she then jumped into her Ford Focus and gave chase!!! I told her that was a stupid thing to do but she did save my IS from been taken. Trouble is that they will probably come back and have another go Apparantly the IS200 and 300's are on the hitlist at the moment so be careful with your keys! Glenn
  3. Hi Mac, I don't know if this will be the problem but I had a rattle in the dash on my GS300 mk2 a while back, it turned out to be the switch in the glovebox that operates the glove box light. It did make a loud rattle for such a small item and became very annoying after a while so had it replaced and the problem was solved. Cheers Glenn
  4. Only the best coffee at FOW, just like the motors Good point about the CD player, I shall remember that for next week. Glenn
  5. Hi Jon, next time you come down I will buy you a coffee :D Oh and sell you another Lexus Cheers Glenn
  6. Hi, sorry about the mix up with your number plate The girl in our office can't read my writing Look forward to seeing you next wednesday. I know you will enjoy owning your IS. Cheers Glenn
  7. Hi John, Yep another IS 200 goes out of FOW :D Couldn't believe it when he mentioned his friend who had one and he cuts his hair He has bought a nice example too, straight out of the box as we say. Glenn
  8. OH NO!!! The sheep have eaten the driver. :( BAAAAAAAAD Joke Glenn
  9. Hi Neil, I had something very similar on my 1999 GS300 a couple of years ago. Everytime I set off I could hear like a squeak come rattle sound and it turned out to be the heat shields on the exhausts which Lexus in Bolton fixed under warranty. Might be the same thing. Cheers Glenn
  10. Go for the IS300 and have the best of both worlds :D Honda is a nice motor but it's not a Lexus
  11. I never knew that about the wipers and I have had my GS for almost 3 years Do you know if the IS has the same feature as I have noticed that my drivers wiper seems to be stopping to high up just recently. Glenn
  12. Hi Rik, thanks for the feedback on your GStwin turbo, it sounds like a nice one too (Black is the right colour) I have a GS300SE Mk2 which I have owned for 3 years now and love it to bits, but like you say the power is OK but a bit more would be nice. I have recently bought an IS300 which goes like a rocket and handles like a go cart (fantastic motor) but I do like the interior of the GS and a few other things. Problem I have now is that I still own the GS as my dealer offered me a rubbish PX price for it and I got a good deal on the IS for cash. I am trying to sell my GS privatly with no luck so far so I am considering selling the IS300 instead and then part exchanging the GS for another GS either a 430 or a twin turbo. Let me know when you are ready to sell yours and I may be in a position to buy, fingers crossed and all that. Cheers Glenn
  13. Yep, my headlights need to be on before the washers work too. Glenn
  14. LOL :D I believe a few people have ended up getting locked in, I would imagine that it's not a very nice feeling. Trouble is with it been such a big place with over 1600 cars on site it's easy to disapear and not be seen for hours. How long did you have to wait until you got out?? Glenn
  15. No, it wasn't me then Steve. The search continue's :D Glenn
  16. Hi all, has anybody here had any experience with a GS300 Vertex twin turbo?? I have seen one for sale on a V reg 1999, I assume it will be an import. The guy wants £17000 for it and I am very tempted as the GS430 I was hoping to get has fallen through :( Can anyone tell me what the performance is like on these TT's ie 0-60 time etc, and are they any good. Any help would be most welcome. Thanks Glenn
  17. Hi Steve, it wasn't an IS300 was it?? I was down that way earlier on. Glenn
  18. Mk2 for me I think, although nothing wrong with the Mk1. Lets face it, they are both fantastic motors :P Glenn PS how do you put pictures on your posts??
  19. Nice one Jon, glad to hear your dealings with FOW are happy ones. I am one of the Sales Exec's (car sales man) Exec's just sounds better :P Let me know next time you are coming down.
  20. Hi Jon, I live on the Kingsmead estate just off the A556 near Sandyway. How did you find the service at Fords Of Winsford and are you happy with your car?? I ask because I work for them :D Small world Glenn
  21. Have to agree about the horn on the GS. My GSmk2 has a very feeble sounding horn, sounds more like it should be on a moped or something. The horn on my IS300 isn't much better :( Glenn
  22. WOW!!!! that's a nice bit of kit :P Where abouts in Chester are you Jon?? I am in Northwich. Glenn
  23. Thanks vince, I will let you know the outcome. I am guessing it will be something like "sorry sir but everything seems to be OK" Never mind, I may be able to persuade them to loan me a GS430 for the day :D
  24. Thanks for the feedback guys, looks like I might be having a trip back to my dealer with it! Mine was registered in October 2001 so it must have been one of the first IS300's I think, so it's possible that it may have a few minor niggles that have been sorted out now. Or maybe I am just a bad driver :D Cheers Glenn
