  1. All casualtys of TDI , all fixed by SPC Horsham :D
  2. Hi, Could I ask who is doing the work for you as this product is licensed to me and you may be buying an inferior copy product which will not give the results in improved performance you hope to gain. This mod will certainly make you "Go like the wind" ( BTW this phrase is a registered trademark of BEANS mods Inc) but as I said in the 1st post make sure you are Upwind when the engine is running. If you are using a parachute at Santa Pod to assist stopping buy a brown one to start with. Hi , its an American version from way out west , the man said "its in the can" and will "blow you away" and once i start if im not careful could end up messey
  3. Just a small update , i have booked the car in for a "Beans" upgrade :D , i hope to "Go like the wind" down santa pod .
  4. It certainly does mate. It moved along very quickly since its been at SPC Horsham. :D I was told some power figures a few weeks ago whilst it was on the dyno but can't remember exact figures. The car I think is running 1.2 bar not 1.4 bar that it was before. But the car works properly this time. Its not all about the power for me anymore. At 1.2 bar I think the figures were around 340bhp and 370 torque. But as soon as I see the final figures I shall post up. The power figure on 1.2 bar is less than the 1.4 bar figure but the torque is the same as SPC Horsham seem to have done a top job with the mapping. Great news Adie , see you at the "Pod" :D
  5. Well done Mr Mole & Mrs Mole , welcome to the charger club :D
  6. Great news Adie , when you get her back from SPC Horsham she will be one hell of a quick car :D , i am still getting to gripps with my power and your's will have lots more :D
  7. Hi Mole , i am not shure that a front strut brace will fit with the tte air box . Hi Dave , I've not got the TTE airbox fitted. I've got an induction kit on at the moment. Hi Mole , an induction kit will give you more bhp than the air box :D , ive been looking for under chassis brace's to help improve the handling .
  8. Hi Mole , i am not shure that a front strut brace will fit with the tte air box .
  9. That looks good on you tube , thankyou SPC Horsham :D
  10. Hi Cho , no i'm sorry , the crankshaft will need different rods and problerly i will have to have new pistons as well and even another rebore .
  11. Hi Cho , it's a "stroker" kit :D Dave I personally think that stroking your car would be going down another costly route for pretty much little gains. Stroker kits in the first place cost a massive amount, then your engine will need to be completly stripped down everything removed and changed over, I dont think you will be able to use any of the internal components you have already, as the crankshaft will be different and usually all related items (conrods and pistons) Im guessing your after more power ? Is the superchargers rev's max'd out at the moment ? The only thing i can think of with your car in upgrading the supercharger (if you want to keep supercharger) if not go turbo route. Hi Ellz , i have no idea of the route the car will take , im just along for the ride :D
  12. Hi Marcus , thank you very much , see you at the ACE , i hope your car will be there to , i cant wait to see the engine in it :D
  13. Didnt he build one for Prolex in the old days? Hi Stav , i'm not shure about that , speak to Dave , i think the racelogic is in the passenger foot well .
  14. Sounds good, dave, what about all the stuff thats in your engine already ? havent you got forged items ? Spoke to Wayne the other day on the phone, going to go up and see them on monday with a mate from college, so if anyones around i should be up there at 11-12 ish. Hi Ellz , yeah i dont need the rods or pistons (i hope).
  15. Well , before i took the car to SPC Horsham she was doing 220 miles per tank (70 liters) . I filled the tank up and drove her to SPC horsham , 76 miles , she went on the dyno and was road tested , drove home ,drove it a few days then drove back for the diff and drove home again , ran out of petrol , 310 miles :D , am doing another tank test and expect a higher figure . So now the cars running a dream all thanks to SPC Horsham , i've decided to put my name down for one of them stroker kits and cylinder head that SPC Horsham and Prolex-UK are developing , speaking to Dave from Prolex-UK and Wayne from SPC Horsham i understand that the stroker kit will include forged con rods and crank , uprated reduced compression pistons and an increase of between 200-300CC , and more torque and hp , the head will have a larger exhaust valve by 1mm , stronger valve springs , ported and gas flowed , the future's bright the future is SPC Horsham/ Prolex-UK :D , i can remember when i spoke to Bark Catchamole of totally disastrous instalations about the stroker kit for the beems engine and if it could be done to my engine and he said "no impossible" , i also asked about larger valves and he said "no room to enlarge".
  16. Nice one Dave :D Starting to sound like you have a new car mate :D Thanks Chris , its feels like a different car , definitely lots more smiles to the gallon :D
  17. will that make your car slightly slower accleration wise, but then again it shouldnt be enough to notice and your mpg will be up It will make my car quicker by staying in gear longer , with the old diff i could only get 10 mph in 1st gear at 5500 revs , so now she is correctly geared :D
  18. Just a little update , because my car was once an auto (i love auto's) it still had the auto diff which makes the manual g/box very short in the gears , so Wayne from SPC Horsham and Dave from Prolex-uk have came up with a special diff , i now have a torsen diff with a much better ratio , which means the gears are longer and i can go drifting , plus more miles per gallon , i am well happy :D
  19. Hi Stav , the Ace Cafe meet sounds good to me , and any help is welcome , thanks , its the manual adjuster . Nice one mate, do you know where your Racelogic control box is by anychance? Stav I will have a look .
  20. Hi Gord , i do'nt want to speak to Mark @Tdi , but if i do i will have someone with me :D
  21. Hi Lexlover001 , with regards to the air filter , at one point the air pressure was bending the K&N filter into a "S" shape so i made a fine grid to prevent this , at another point the recirculating air was piped back into the air box which was incerasing the tempreture and then the pipes blew off from the box and it was my sugestion to feed the air into the exhaust pipe . my traction light do'nt work at all so there is no indication as to when the racelogic or factory systems are on . with the racelogic "on" wet setting i managed to spin the car 540 degress which aint funny , so that dont work :tsktsk: Hi Lexlover001 , yes they did fit the racelogic traction control , but when it came to the wet there was no control , the car spun 540 and i ended up with the near side rear wheel hitting the kerb and damaging the wheel and knocking it under and in , so i had to go to WIM and see Tony Bones to have her set up and checked over . Dave, I've personally installed the racelogic traction control system in my own car and it really is the mutts n***s when it works. Its kept me in check a lot. But i've also personally looked at another Racelogic system that was installed by TDi and it was not set up correctly IMHO. In fact it was performing no better than the standard setup. Unfortuantly the Racelogic doesnt have any visual sign of when its working but you should be able to feel the engine cuts as it does work. Thats if its set up correctly. Are you at the Ace Cafe meet? i will have a look at it for you if you want? and maybe help suggest some improvements to get it working correctly/better. Do you have the digital or manual adjuster? Sav Hi Stav , the Ace Cafe meet sounds good to me , and any help is welcome , thanks , its the manual adjuster .
  22. Hi Lexlover001 , yes they did fit the racelogic traction control , but when it came to the wet there was no control , the car spun 540 and i ended up with the near side rear wheel hitting the kerb and damaging the wheel and knocking it under and in , so i had to go to WIM and see Tony Bones to have her set up and checked over .
  23. To qualify as a PLC you need £50k of issued share capital, you don't have to "float" the company on the stock market. Last time I checked a Mr M. Catchpole had 49,999 of them, means he has £50K tied up in the company. ISO9000/1 just means you have documented procedures that the company works to that are audited every now and again against. The auditor will check that you follow those procedures and document that you do so. If the procedures are flawed the auditor won't know as he/she is a pen pusher not a car tuner. The EFI stuff is total bollox. Not sure how the Rotrex supercharger works, but from what i seen at JAE, the Rotrex supercharger suck's alot of air in through the airbox, so if the airbox not letting enough air through, so tte airbox gave up in the end. yes Gord , it is now in airbox heaven :D
