  1. Only problem there is the Americans drive on the other side, so the unit will dip the wrong way
  2. don't worry about it. Carry a plastic can of fuel! :winky: I knew I joined this forum for such helpful advice. :D Anyone know ? It may be on a screen but it's still a gauge, or to put it basically a rough guide. Every single one Lexus build will be different. The only way for you to get an idea is to carry a can of petrol and let it run out, even then if you did it again with more weight in the car and on different roads it would vary. I'd guess it would give you 25 /30 miles, but it could be 10 or 50
  3. I was under mine at the MOT yesterday and still can't remember but I'm guessing it has a speed sensor not a cable. The flashing OD light is a giveaway it's a transmission problem. I'd like a £ for every speed sensor I changed in the old Ford Scorpio's
  4. We have the house and her car with E sure, saved a lot of money.
  5. Thanks for the comments, thats great. How much would the cambelt normally be? Genuine Lexus belt from the dealers in Progress Rd. £25.04, plus a couple of hours to fit it. No special tools needed.
  6. It was previously up for £3k it's now £3295 Stealer is located in a very nice location . I'd read the 12 -24 onth warranty very carefully before buying it. But it's a lot of car for the money
  7. No problem thanks for pointing them out, I didn't think to look on e bay
  8. If these are the ones you meant , they are not what he wants. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/lexus-GS300-sport-18...1QQcmdZViewItem
  9. I have a friend with a Soarer who is looking for a set of GS300 Sport rims to put on it. Anyone know of a set for sale ?
  10. I wasn't suggesting any of you were bidding, but someone is. All that does is drive the price up , they probably don't realise they could be costing themselves more.
  11. a litle tip for changeing brake fluid, although you could do the same with the PAS. Get a plastic syringe and pull out most of the fluid with it. Refill with new fluid ( this should always be kept in an air tight container as it absorbs moisture from the air ) , then attach your bleed tube to a caliper and let it drain if it will. The reason for this is, as you bleed the brakes the piston in the master cylinder will travel further along the bore and this can lead to seal damage on old cylinders.
  12. Shot guns, I have been in there and bought cartridges from them, they used to be very reasonable.
  13. I'm in Benfleet. As for serviceing that's what I do, I'm retired now ( got out 20 years early :D ) but I used to be an R&D tech at Ford's. Now I just play with Harley's and a few cars , I got a rad for a neighbours sons Astra last week £43. I've heard nothing bad about Westfields your just paying garage rates, but considerably less than a dealer.
  14. Hi Bret welcome your very close to me. There seem to be quite a few Mk1's in the area. My Mk1 came with a remote fob they keys are just keys no buttons. I found the people at the Lexus place in Progress Rd very helpful. Yes the Yaris will need a new rad.
  15. all of Tesco's fuel comes from BP refinery's, they may have a slihtly different blend but it's basically all the same.
  16. I fitted sensors to my Mk1 cost about £68 and a mornings work. if I did it again it would be quicker. I've seen cameras advertised but the sensors work well, it even tells you how far you are from the objet. Beware of the cheap £25 sensors with only two in the kit.
  17. I only got one key and the valet key with my GS. I found a lock smith on Canvey Island who has a device that read my key and programmed the new one he cut. He also cut me a key to go with the valet key to open the boot etc, but it won't start the car. All for £55. Lexus quoted me over £100 to cut and programme one key.
  18. My GS fuel gauge is very slow to change when I fill it up. Possibly your car has been sitting for a while with very little fuel in it and the float just stuck. Every now and again the wife's Galaxy doesn't register that you filled it up, until you restart it again. I've given up worrying about it.
  19. I'd just like to thank Tony tough on crime B liar for helping drag this country down. I'd kill the little ****'s if I caught them. Sorry it's happened to you Duffyt
  20. Looks a nice one. I bought my GS 300 through Auto Trader on line R reg with 16k miles for £5 k I was looking for a Focus estate I sold my 246,000 mile Seat Alhambra with the head in the boot on E bay and got £1200 more than I thought I would. No way would I bid on a car without seeing it.
  21. How many miles has the car done ? if the fuel filter is partially blocked it could make the pump noisey, but i'm guessing that's in the tank.
  22. I just replaced the Continentals on her Galaxy with Avons, what a difference only half the tyre noise
  23. Falken have been around a long time, Pirelli are good but soft.
