  1. just had a quick look on this web-site and if i've got the right parts they seem very cheap indeed...... Part No: BPS2627 Brake pad set (Front) APPROX £27 Part No. BPS2590 Brake Pad set (Rear) APPROX £20 Part No. BDS5797 Solid brake disc (Rear) APPROX £80 (pair) TOTAL: £158.64 all in!!!!!! thats not bad for standard replacement parts is it!!!!! :P
  2. I can recommened black diamond, i have them on my mondeo. Great stopping power, never warp or fade, not cheap, but worth every penny. For the lexus try here http://www.ccmotorsport.co.uk/Merchant2/me...ode=Lexus_IS200 If you mention Monkeyra from the Mondeo Enthusiasts Group sent you over, ask for a discount, you'll hopefully get 10% off. (He advertises on my website ;) ) They are on my shopping list of things to buy :D ← thanks for the link matey. they're not as expensive as i thought really....considering unit replacement discs are about £120-£140!! are these discs much better than the mintex one's i've seen around??? also, what pads would you have to run alongside these????
  3. yea, i'd love that kinda set-up but at the min funds won't allow it!! getting the HID's first :P
  4. well i'd love to say i could fit them myself but wouldn't know where to start. only once ever changed a set of pads and that was on a vectra, so doubt i'll be able to do it myself?????
  5. could anybody explain what the benefits are of fitting a strut brace to the car?? does it improve the performance at all, and if so how and by how much?? are the strut braces the same as chasis braces, or are these 2 seperate things? cheers, rob :D :) :D
  6. yea, that's my main reason for buying them now, rather than waiting a bit. :duh: there are still some good offers on ebay if you wanna go down that road or you could always try www.hids4u.co.uk. i spoke to them just before i saw taz's post and they seemed really genuine and answered all the questions i had (without being arsy as many companies are!!!).
  7. so are you going to purchase any of these? ← no, not getting any of these......buying a 6500k set off taz_1. that's the white with blue tint i'm after and a decent price too.....cant complain!!!! :D
  8. You could try a process of elimination, and remove the dash. If it still squeeks, try removing the passenger seat..... :winky: :P ← yea, that's a wicked idea!!!!!!! :D :P mite not go down that route though!!!!!!!! :winky:
  9. well whatever it is its really doing my head in!!!! guess i'll just have to turn the stereo up a bit more :D :P :D
  10. just wondered if anybody could advise...... over the past couple of days i've noticed a squeaky kinda sound coming from somewhere in the front passenger compartment. to me, it sounds like vinyl/rubber rubbing against vinyl/rubber, but just can't put my finger on where its coming from!!! the sound occurs more when i go over bumps, or accelerate quicly, etc. it seems to be coming from around the dashboard/door area but can't locate it exactly (as am trying to drive at the same time). its gettin more noticable now and really startin to drive me crazy!! anybody had or heard of this before??
  11. yea, but i could easily just switch back to standard bulbs for the MOT couldn't i????
  12. ok, so just to clarify this before i go ahead and purchase my HID kit. as soon as it arrives i can just fit it myself, attach the ballasts somewhere and then take it to an MOT garage to ensure the lights are levelled??? that right????
  13. don't know if its any help mate, but my folks (in the states) have got a HD on their brand new samsung fancy tv thingy when i was over there at easter i was having a look at the difference in picture quality between no HD and HD channels. to be honest with you i would highly reccomend it because the imagfe is just so much sharper and the colour quality is second to none. hope thats helped
  14. i didn't realise aftermarket HID's were illegal??!!!! why's that??? don't worry, i aint gonna say anythin to anyone :shutit: :winky:
  15. i was thinking that but i thought you had to have the policy with your insurance company for a minimum of 12months before you could change (only had the current policy for about 3months!!!). i think that i'm gonna have a similar problem with whoever i go with (coz of my age). guess i'll just have to keep it to myself!!!!! :D :P :D
  16. well, i just spoke to my insurance company coz i had to sort some stuff out with them. anyway, we got chatting regarding car modifications and they told me that because i'm under 25, i'm not allowed to modify the car in any way.....engine, brakes, alloys, suspension, body, lighting!!!!!!! is this somekind of joke!!!! all i wanna do at the minute is put some HID's on it and by the sounds of it, that would void my insurance!!!!! is this how most insurance company's work??? anyway around it????
  17. :P alright, cheers for the help guys. i definitely think its worth spending the money on the HID's. ive heard so much good talk about them!!! cheers again, rob
  18. ok, so basically i can get the kit and fit it myself. but then i have to take it to a local MOT garage and get them to set up the headlights??? cheers guys. anybody got any suggestions as to whether the kits on ebay are any good??? also found this one: http://www.hids4u.co.uk/product_details.asp?id=45 what bulbs/colour temperature will i need to go for if i want a blueish tint to the lights?? 6000k???
  19. i've just been thinking....although you can fit the kits yourself, do they need to be 'calibrated' so that the light is thrown directly onto the road and not elsewhere???
  20. oh right, that does sound easy (even for me!!!). are the ballasts permenantly fixed? i take it you just gotta find some room for them to sit under the bonet somewhere??
  21. thanks for the advice fella. so i take it, the higher the output number, the brighter the light. but that doesn't always mean that it throws more light onto the road?? are the kits easy to install yourself (if you have limited experience)??? anybody know if these kits are any good...or should is there anything someone could reccommend
  22. i'm after a HID conversion kit and came across these on fleabay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...TRK%3AMEWA%3AIT http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...TRK%3AMEWA%3AIT http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...TRK%3AMEWA%3AIT are any of them suitable/decent enough to go on my baby??? (i know the auctions have all ended but the suppliers got them in stock)
  23. just found this: Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/Mile Difference 215/45-17 3.8in 12.3in 24.6in 77.3in 819 0.0% 225/35-17 3.1in 11.6in 23.2in 72.9in 869 -5.8% 225/40-17 3.5in 12.0in 24.1in 75.7in 837 -2.2% so surely this means that whatever i decide to put on, there's gonna be a difference in the rolling radius and the speedo won't read true????? is there any way around this (apart from sticking to standard 215/45/17 or changing the wheel diameter)?
  24. so if i went up to 225, would i run with 35's or 40's? (225/35/17 or 225/50/17) to keep the rolling radius the same????
  25. yea, i think i'll pop down 2moro and have a word!!! just thought it'd look a lot smarter with some wider tyres on the back, but if that means buying new wheels then it'll have to wait as funds are not on my side till next month.........too much boozing i think!!!!! now......where's that bottle of stella?????!!!!!!!!
