  2. They are a straight plu n play Kaz, 10-15 mins. Only tricky bit is fitting the nearside ballast due to tight space. ← or gettin em to work ← I did mean......in the perfect world ← i figured

  4. You'll be able to buy all the parts from a breaker's yard for next to nothing, a basic front end respray shouldn't cost more than £250-300 Just talk to the insurer, they'll explain how a buy-back works ← ok. cheers mike
  5. Dark blue (could have been black) IS250 going down Derby road in Loughborough at about 1.30 this afternoon. Any takers???? Lovely motor!!
  6. yea i guess, only problem is that after all the parts have been bought.....its gonna need spraying and the costs all add up!!! its a case of how much is reasonable to spend on it. when you say buy the car back....do you mean that the cost of buying it back will be deducted from the insurance company's payout cheque???
  7. anyway, got a phone call from my bro at half 9 this morning, telling me to come down to where he works coz some :tsktsk: end has smashed into to front of his car (vectra) (this used to be my car a few years back). anyway, i jump into the lex and head on across town wondering what i'm gonna find when i get there. pulled into the car park to find carnage!!!!! the waste disposal lorry (one of those big beasts with the lifting claws on the back) had tried to reverse around his car......and been unsuccessful!!! how on earth he managed to hit it is beyond me!!! anywayz, the up-shot of it all is that the front bumper was smashed to pieces/bent/mangled, all front lights were smashed (headlights and fogs), the drivers side front wing dented (big time!!) and bonnet shunted out of alignment (due to the wing being knocked in). fortunately, there were some witnesses and the scrawny little runt of a driver said he'd accept liability (isn't he kind!!!). andy (my bro) said i should have used him as a tooth-pick.....trust me i was tempted :shutit: only problem, apart from the obvious, is that his insurance company is likely to write the car off and give me the current market value, as opposed to repair the damage. in essence, he's gonna recieve :tsktsk: all cash and have to put a fair amount of his own money down in order to buy a reasonable car!! it'd be so much better if they could just do the repairs as the cars got loads of life still left in it!!! errrrrr , just before crimbo aswell!!!! anybody know what happens to the car if they do write it off.......is there any chance i could keep it (instead of it being scrapped). might be able to fix it to a half decent standard over time, or maybe sell it for parts?? cheers rob
  8. VX220's are fetching a bit more than £8500 arn't they???
  9. not sure about disabling it, but the reason it sounds is because of the 6 speed gear-box and the fact that you could put it into 1st accidently (or vice versa). it is useful when you're in a hurry sometimes!!! and yes.....it is a standard feature
  10. stick to LED's in my opinion. how about these...... http://www.ultraleds.co.uk/product_info.ph...0087666f9ad8bc3
  11. I have got the same as these.Bought them over a year ago. Still in good condition and still on the car. I had 2 sets nicked before I put these on. Really good plus you get the chrome valve stems. I paid about £7 off Ebay. ← how do they fasten on chaps (confused about the blank looking things in the background).

  18. Just read this off the AOL news web-site: "Police and emergency crews raced to the scene of the blasts which rocked Buncefield fuel terminal, near Hemel Hempstead, in Hertfordshire, around 6am. There were unconfirmed reports of casualties at the depot. Initial reports said witnesses heard a plane going overhead shortly before the first explosions - but police were quick to dismiss that suggestion, insisting the incident was an "accident''. The first blast happened just after 6am at the fuel terminal in Leverstock Green, which is believed to supply aviation fuel via pipes to Heathrow airport. A plume of black smoke hangs over the area The force of the blast - which was heard up to 40 miles away - sent flames shooting 200ft into the sky. A spokeswoman for Hertfordshire Police said: "Police and other emergency services are attending the area of Buncefield oil depot near Hemel Hempstead this morning following reports of an explosion just after 6am. "There is nothing to suggest at this stage that this is anything but an accident, but we are keeping an open mind.'' Witnesses said homes and surrounding businesses were damaged by the force of explosions, Residents nearby said they were awoken by a "loud boom'' as their houses "shook''. People living as far away as Surrey reported that they heard the initial blast. Two smaller blasts followed at around 6.20am. It is understood that windows of the Ramada Hotel, in nearby Hemel Hempstead, were blown out and a number of people were thought to have been injured. Witness Paul Hayes said he was close to the scene of the blast on an industrial estate. He told Sky News: "I heard alarms going off. Buildings were smashed and falling down. Someone told me a petrol dump had exploded.'' The fuel terminal, which is close junction 8 of the M1 forced the closure of the motorway in both directions between junctions six and 10. The M10 was also completely closed. An employee at Buncefield told BBC News 24: "The terminal is a joint venture between Total and Texaco. Two people were on the site but they are reported as safe.''
