  1. nah mate, deffo outside. not touched the stereo, in fact, switched all that and the a/c off to try and pin point it.....
  2. means i can keep a better eye on what speed the missus is doing when she drives!! and then i can promptly remind her that the accelerator is the one on the right
  3. Hey up guys, Haven't driven the car all this week until today. I drove it in to work as normal, then straight off to the gym when i finished. On my way back home (engine warm even though its only a mile back home) i noticed that when i had my foot off the accelerator travelling say at 20-40 (i.e moving with momentum of the car) i could hear this really weird noise. Its pretty hard to describe but almost sounds like the whine of the s/c, but magnified somewhat. or maybe like a hissing/whistling noise. The car doesn't feel like its lost any boost and a quick check of the hoses at the top of the engine bay showed they all looked secure and none had split. When i had the car on the drive and got the missus to rev it for me with the bonnet up (only time she can sit in the drivers seat ) it sounded bang on - no problems. so it seems that only when the cars in motion and only when cruising with no acceleration can it be heard. but it doesn't sound right to me..... i quickly checked the mud flaps and wheel arch liners to see if they were ok and not rubbing, but all seemed fine. any thoughts?? anything that it sounds plausible to being?? cheers rob
  4. cheers matey - will have a go anyhow. can the bulb holder be bent slightly to make it point down more??
  5. have you just installed them as sidelight bulbs mate??? do they move around a lot in the bulb holder then??
  6. you won't need this if you already have xenons mate..... if your car does have xenons fitted - which is what u implied in ur 1st post, then they will probably be 4300K colour temp (the best for light output), so any other colour temp will be for looks only as 4300K throws the most light onto the road.
  7. not as powerful IIRC and costs are now about the same price i think.....
  8. oh really?? can anyone confirm the orientation of the number plate bulb in relation to light output?? If what stevie's saying is correct then i guess these will be no good.... yea, mine have been sent out too so hopefully get them tomorrow??
  9. mate it really is little hassle. Takes me about a minute to put the cover on and 30 seconds to get it off. and they keep the car looking mint despite the crappy weather. well worth it fella!!
  10. nice work matey!!!! u should really think about getting a decent car cover mate - makes that hard work last a lot longer in this climate!!
  11. yea saw them mate. not something that i would pick normally i don't think, but will have a think. The corrosion looks pretty bad around the centre caps - so would be close to another 200 notes to get them refurbed.......
  12. No mate these are the flat smd version, you get more light spread on the inverted. ah fair enough mate - though these were the inverted. didn't realise there was another type. these should be good enough though i would have thought??
  13. think these are the inverted type are they not??
  14. doubt they'll be that bad mate!! the sidelight one's are more for the colour balance of the HID's but the reg palte one's would need to be pretty bright - fingers crossed, lol. cheers rob
  15. i got 2 sets mate - presumably 4 bulbs?? so should be ok as i'm gonna put one in each sidelight and then two for the number plate?? or do i need more fella??
  16. The ones that were on my car before were only 17" matey, but looked bigger as the spokes went to the edge of the rim to give the impression of larger rims ahh right o matey. they available then chris or u hanging onto them fella. i quite like those rims. what make are they??
  17. cheers matey, just got 2 sets - one from front sidelights as one of mines had it and one to try the rear number plate...
  18. sorry to hear that mate that propanol i gave you might come in handy now mate - assuming u and gord didn't drink it
  19. as said, stay away from chamois leathers. the sonus der wunder microfibres are very good as are Eurow drying towels. From personal experience most waffle weave towels are superb and work a treat!!
  20. i was offerred them and then told someone else had taken them :tsktsk: :shutit: tis life i guess!! what size were the one's u've just taken off and are you selling them?? 18's?? tyre's isn't an issue as i'm getting some new rubber this spring. not really wanting standard 5-spokers, but anything else would be considered kinda thing, lol. cheers rob
  21. would those have been suitable for the rear number plate bulbs???
  22. thinking about it mate, you *might* be alright as the rims are 7j not 8 like some of the other pics i've seen, so shouldn't stick out as much if my way of thinking is correct. can you not stick one on quickly??? won't dirty or mark the wheels in any way and if they fit ok then ur onto a winner mate!! they would look mint as well on ur IS!!!
  23. from what i've learnt myselfg recently, the offset should ideally be 40-45. but people have fitted 18 inch ET35 wheels. they do stick out a bit though mate and would really only know if its right for you by sticking one on the car???? or arch kit if ur a bit concerned with it??
