  1. You would realy need some sort of heat sheild for those filters, as it just going to suck up hot air from the engine which isnt a good thing! (not really a problem in this weather tho, :)
  2. cheers mate have sent for a quote as its not listed on there :D
  3. might just be me, but i cant find that website I have personnaly only heard good things about the k&n for my car, cant be much different for other 1s - the more cold air you can get into the engine the better :) steve

  7. might come along for the 1/4 mile as its a nice price, will check nearer time tho (when i work out where it is )
  8. sounds good to me, cant see a catch so put me name down :)
  9. could you narrow that down a bit mate? is the clicking coming from the speakers or from the dash when the stereo is on? i dont believe they are linked, so a clicking coming from the dash could be the black plastic bit to the bottom an in front??
  10. You're not kidding. I'm just trying a tank and from the fuel gauge so far it looks like I'm getting about 14 mpg instead of 28 :o (And yes I have reset the ECU.) ← oddly enough mine worked out at 14mpg aswell, back on cheap at the mo as could only find a asda when i needed to fill up
  11. well just like to say it was good to meet you guys (an gals) an was a good day altho pretty cold! but at least it wasnt raining! thought the tour was pretty good an didnt realise quite how big the place was! hmm i wonder if theyve got any of those bristol fighters going cheap?? B) well got a good 253.36 at the wheels so not bad at all :D
  12. have used a couple of tanks, seems to be slightly more responsive, but it has a tendancy to disapeer odly it wasnt the foot on the floor to much, just more along the lines of it didnt appear to be as econmic (not sure that words fitting tho) but worth experimenting with an cheaper than optimax! :)
  13. ok guys/gals sems like most of you'll be coming in on the a345 (castle road) from amesbury(a303) when u go into salisbury as you go into the 40 there'll be a big hill fort on your right (old sarum) and as you pass by it theres a sports field and its the first lot of buildings at the end of the field on the right. (so im told) I believe its in the same group of buildings as the rugby club i believe. hope that helps for when you get there, as castle works doesn't seem to appear on any map i have :duh:
  14. ok folks i think this is the place? courtesy of multi-map well i think its that grey lump in the middle of the sports field, if it is then its pretty easy to get to, just past old sarum if your coming from amesbury a303. will give them a call in the week to check, so we can all get there ok! (my navigations skills leave a lot to be desired so best to find the place 1st :duh: )
  15. doh wish i hadnt looked at that!
  16. ok here we go try this vw ecoracer ok seems like its actually 0-60 in 6.3 an upto 83mpg still not bad tho! :)
  17. Looks the same as mine! i believe the traction control was an option on 91 on, s i know a few people with it, unfurtunately not mine :tsktsk:
  18. know the name but thats about it im afraid
  19. Would that be the 500 bhp lexus/toyota engine that may turn up in the lexus lf-a?? lexus lf-a
  20. There was an article in the daiky mirror last week about a vw prototype coupe, it had a 1.5 ltr turbo deisel that was capable of doing 100mpg, but with a bit more weight on your right foot could take it from standstill to 60 in 3 seconds! with a top speed of 145, apparently the engine has been designed in japan?? looked quite nice to an i guess a lot of the speed could be down to it being mostly carbon fibre! They recon that prices would be around the 18k mark, and would probably be made of aly instead of cf, but still quite a quick eco sports car! steve well theres my tupance
  21. yep thats pretty much what i was trying to say, there is not much in it between the jz cars, and iv struggled to keep up with a gs before (did take me by suprise as how quick it was before i realised what engine it had!)an i think the standard uk tt has an extra 40 bhp over the jdm version, but how did toyota achieve this? was it just larger injectors? or is the ecu mapped differently? in which case surely to swap the ecu an injectors would be a good upgrade? steve oh or did they just run higher boost on the uk?
  22. woohoo! Well have been looking at the map an know the road its n, but cant place there being an industrial type park there? :eerrrmm: guess theres 1 way to find it! near stonhendge? would that be amesbury then? steve
  23. Ooo iv put my name down, is it ok to come if your a new member? as it'll be interesting to see what power im getting, altho i think some places have problem getting a decent reading from the auto box?! is there a link for janspeed with directions? (i know its only just down the road but im good at getting lost ) steve p.s. i guess its not to late to put me name down?
  24. Altho both the supra and soarer tt share a jz engine there's a fair bit of difference between the 1jz (soarer tt) and the 2jz (supra tt). The 1jz was designed and fettled(possibly built by them aswell??) by yamaha, where as the 2j was just your bog standard toyota job. The 2jz has a larger bottem end giving it the larger 3ltr capacity, but due to this the pistons have to travel further each revoloution, meaning your 1jz altho smaller in capacity the pistons have less far to travel an less weight to move each time meaning that the engine can accelerate quicker :) couple that with the fact that most soarers have a very good fast changing auto and when u boot it it takes something special to be able to keep up :D altho i may (and very often am) be corrected :D steve p.s. more info can be found in 'up and running' editorial on lsoc forum if any1s interested
