  1. Was looking at that loom on ebay mate, but dont recognise the fuse box's on it? so not sure if its the right one? Need to get some cash coming in now asap Mind i have just sold the exhaust trim for £50 and my alloys for £150 B) so its a start
  2. Will see what they say in the morning mate? Looking at the wiring its going to need the whole engine loom with fuse boxes, might need an injector, coil pack, some pipework, battery, bonnet respray, windscreen lower panel, rubber seals, plus other bits Just doesnt halp not having any money coming in at the moment If i remove all the bits i'll have to sell the charger etc to do the work on it, but dont really want to go back to a standard IS200 if you know what i mean?
  3. Everything else is fine mate, Inside smells a bit smokey but it stayed pretty well contained to the area that ignited? The powder thats all over the car is from the fire extinguisher so just washes off, gave the engine bay a wash off yesterday and its mainly smoke marks, But a lot of the main wiring has melted at the rear of the engine, fuse box, battery etc, The insurance company have basicly said they will pay for the basic car but not cover the mods, so have told them i'll remove them if thats the case? but will find out more in the morning about that and see what they say? Ebay might be busy for a few days @ Asi not too sure yet mate but it might have twin turbos :winky:
  4. Cheers Chris, :) Think i'll be stripping it mate and starting again with something else?? so might be a few bits for sale soon ;) Just got to talk to the insurance again tomorrow and see what they say?
  5. Thanks for helping me again today Bro :) Did put a lot of effort into it trying to get it just right, Think i was getting there too?
  6. Thanks for all the comments guys and girls, still trying to get my head round the next action to take? The insurers have told me that if its a valid claim they will probably only cover the basic cost of the car? but will see what happens there? Its burnt through a lot of the main wiring loom and nearby components,(connector plugs etc) one thing though that i'm relieved about is that the supercharger is still complete and has no damage apart from the plastic casing on the bypass cable and its covered in smoke but will get it cleaned up again :( Couple of pics :( Not sure where to go from here, but i will be back even if i have to build a new one :)
  7. Dont forget the flames from the exhaust as well! yeh that was very impressive, and glad i moved when i did
  8. you getting it towed to yours then? not a problem for bringing you back, we just followed signs for the M6 back rather than try and find our way the way we came. Let us know if you need anything as it ive a spare one from my engine then its yours. Stav Thanks mate really appreciate it :D Hopefully my brother will be picking the works flat bed up in a bit so we can get it on the back and get it down to my dads garage so i can work on it, :) when its back i'll strip down the burnt area and have a look at the damage, hoping its not as bad as it looked, :shutit: Then take it from there, hoping its not going to need the loom as i can see that being a very big job Yours is amazing mate, love the power and the launch control, well thats just amazing and can still hear the bangs in my head now Thanks again for your help :D
  9. Yes and i had the great pleasure of being a pasenger (rather it had been under diferent terms though?) Got to say it does go like a train pulls very well and smooth, the sound of it is fantastic, and the launch control is just amazing to the extent it blew the paint off the ceiling at the garage :o Very pleased for you mate, enjoy :D
  10. Yeh i know what you mean mate, hopefully have it home in a bit to see what needs doing to it? Thanks again for bringing me back mate and hope you had a good trip back :)
  11. nice car mate.....by how much is that lowered by? have u used spring or struts aswell? wanna get mine lowered as well. In that pic mate it was lowered by about 35mm on Apex lowering springs, its now got TTE coilovers fitted at about 50mm lower But my cars not looking very good at the moment as it had an engine bay fire earlier tonight
  12. Not 100% sure mate, but if you swap the firing order as in put plug wire 3 onto plug 2 like you suggested above, you'll have 1 piston at the bottom of its stroke and the piston next to it at the top of its stroke, so when they both fire they will be trying to push against each other, which to me wont do the crank shaft any good, as i'd think the pressure from the fuel ignition would have to go somewhere if the piston has nowhere to go?? But dont quote me on that as i'm not really sure
  13. Dont mix the wiring up mate it'll make it fire in the wrong order? Not too sure what the code means mate? P0320 Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction ??
  14. Cheers guys, still trying to get my head round it? Hopefully have it home tomorrow so i can see whats burnt, But off the top of my head it needs a new battery, the 2 fuse boxes next to the battery, the plastic panel under the windscreen, pipework/cables, just hope it hasnt got into the wiring loom to much? the bonnets burnt, and some other bits but not sure untill i see it in the daylight? :( Really hope i'll be able to bring it back to life, i've put a lot of time and effort into my lex over the time i've had it, as you guys know? and would be a shame to see it all go to waste Trying to look on the bright side at the moment and my brains working overtime, but i'm alive which is the main thing as it could of been worse :)
  15. Dont know mate, it was very well insulated but could of been?
  16. Cant believe i'm typing this, but went over to meet up with Stav tonight, We came out of the garage to find my car smoking, got the bonnet open and flames were everywhere, Steve at the garage put it out before it got really going! Gutted is an understatement at the moment and cant believe whats happened but at least i wasnt driving it and nobody was hurt, Looks like the battery had earthed out and started to melt and not sure how much damage has gone on at the moment as i need to get it back home and see what needs doing and what damage its done, Will ring the insurance asap and see what they say? but being as its a 9 year old car i can see it being written off at the moment with what i can see of the damage?? Hopefully i'll get it back home and see what plan of action i'm going to have to take? Really dont know what to say, heartbroken at the moment with tears rolling down my face :crybaby: Got to say a big thanks to Stav for bringing me home and helping me yet again, thanks mate your a star :)
  17. yeh i can, they have a gap at the rear of them :P i knew you would have worked out a way around it Yes mate on the next set i make i'm going to put a slot in the sides and try and mark the MIN and MAX on them :D
  18. yeh i can, they have a gap at the rear of them :P
  19. I welcome the comments mate, as it makes me think about ways of making things better :D
  20. Not too sure to be honest mate, if it was running too hot it might have just melted the end so hopefully its ok
  21. When the engines running well mate the plugs are usually a light grey/light brown in colour, black usually shows its running a bit rich? I check my plugs quite regular on mine to see how its running and usually there a light grey/ brown colour, Now you have the IK22's fitted they will probably be better being a cooler plug? but worth checking in a few miles to see how there going, if there dry and black when you next check them then there running too cool? i've put my IK20's back in mine as the IK22's were going black, and the IK20's seem ok at the moment :D
  22. Doesnt look very healthy that mate Are they quite black at the electrode end of the plugs or a light grey/brown?
  23. Great job you've done there Keith, very tidy and they look spot on :)
