  1. Got a set of HIDs in the driving lights, anybody gone a put a set in their full beam lights?

Ya i did as well, standard halogens in the high beams are pretty crap next to HID dips ...

I got a 50W 6000k kit in the high beams from Hids-direct and it's like driving a rally car .... :D usual expression by passengers is "WOW" , followed by "where can i get some" ...

  2. Damn, that's awesome! Don't bother if it's a lot of hassle but does the little black box have a part number or anything anywhere on it? Do you know if it's been wired in, or is it a plug and play type device?

    I'll have a look tomorrow... :)

  3. i'm just honestly curious, because my car feel so underpowered and just to make the tail go out a lil bit really takes lot of effort... maybe I should have it dyno'ed, i'm starting to thinkg I'm on a dead engine or something...

Usually folk are on here complaining about the back stepping out ... lol

just fit krap tyres and your off ... :D

  4. Mine came in from Japan with remote start installed and Toyota branded too...

great for the cold mornings can have the car nice and toasty while your having breakfast

but as soon as you open a door it shuts of so you'll then have to start it like normal,

remote started it once while sitting in the car .... weird feeling , just to see could it be put in gear, no is the answer as it stops straight away so no fear of anyone robbing it when auto started ...

So there was an actual Toyota remote start for the Altezza/IS? Hmmm, would be interested if anyone knows the part number for that..........how is it controlled? Off the main key or a separate remote? Got any pics if separate?

Came with a basic fob .... 3 buttons , press red and then press and hold start and it'll flash the indicators and start the engine..

has a long range too ... tested it at over 300 yards on open ground ... remote has a telescopic aerial and theres a front and rear antenna mounted inside the car ...

Found a little black box under the carpet trim on the passenger side of the central console...

heres the fob, also locks/unlocks the doors and pops the boot :)

  6. the RS200 needs to revved to get that power though, not alot of torque down low...

RS200 is very nicely balanced handling wise ....

power is something that is addictive, first test drive you love it, but then in a few months you get used to that and start thinking why you didn't buy one with a turbo already fitted as doing it afterwards is never cheap... then there's guys with Turbo's fitting bigger and bigger and die hards thinking mmmm... supra twin turbo engine transplant.... it never ends

  7. I think engine size and handling have alot to do with it ...

reason over here is the old road tax was cc based, a 2lt cost 590 per Annum whereas a 3lt or above was 1343 euro ...

That was the old system now it's worse as it's based on emissions ... a new IS250 sport manual now costs 2000 euro per Annum but the diesel is much lower.... feckin greens in government

thankfully it's only for new 2008 cars reg. here, jap <2008 imports are still old system

  8. Off the line it's faster as it's lighter and has a more powerful engine (210bhp), but on the road the is200 isn't far behind...

    factory specs

    RS200 --- 0-60 = 7.2 sec

    IS200 --- 0-60 = 9.5 sec

get an IS200 with a supercharger and it's the same ;)

  9. ya they've probably fecked up the stud thread and hoped you wouldn't spot it till much later.... any decent tyre fitter would finish up tightening with a torque wrench and would have definitely spotted a missing nut.... go back and tear them a new one as if it was already damaged before they got it then they would have brought this to your attention and charged you for a new stud + labour

  10. Hey, thanks for the reply, no I havent done the gearbox oil as the owners manual says that should be done at 40,000 mile intervals :)

Since yours is supercharged it's probably better to do the various servicing abit more often the what the manual states ;)

  11. Hi,

    1. allows you to move the gearlever out of park without the engine running and a leg on the brake, ie if car needs to be put in nuetral for towing

    2.

3.I have a HKS Hiper on mine and it sounds sweet

4.never turn mine off as i prefer the way the car drives with it on... basically when in D it'll shift down more aggressive and hold in the gear for longer
