Mine do the same. Once they come on they stay on untill you turn off the ignition and open the door.

Guys. I have to say I am shocked reading all these issues with Lexus GB. I live in Ireland and have to say I couldn't fault the treatment I have received from Lexus. My Father has owned 3 lexus over the last 8 years or so and he has been treated like royalty since day 1. Any issues are sorted in days when possible. Actually it is usually our timetables that have caused any delays. Maybe you should contact a couple of Irish dealers to find out delivery times. It actually might work out cheaper as well.

Just ask the guy to mark the package as "Low Value Gift" and you will avoid the duty.

So. I am new to the IS200. Recently got a 2001 IS200 with only 21,000 miles so it is basically a new car. In Ireland by the way What should I be doing to get some better handling and performance but not going as far as a turbo or supercharger. Also I have a 1 year lexus used car warantee to protect so have to watch out there. Any of the below any good from ebay. It usually means that there are trapped air pockets in the brake lines. Unfortunatly air won't work it's way to the top because there are high and low points in the system. Air will compress when you brake so this could account for you problem. Not sure what the bleeding process is on the IS.

OK, I am starting to get confused. I only bought my IS200 last week 21,000 miles and it's a 2001 car. What are the service intervals. Obviously there is the 12months but at what milage under 12 months. I have been reading places that state both 10,000 miles and 10,000 Kms and others that say 20,000 miles and 20,000 kms. My dealer is about to do a free service as part of the deal by the way. So the car will have had 4 services since new and all in Lexus dealers.

I am sure you checked this already but sometimes the most obvious is forgotten. Have you checked the brake fluid level?

The one in Halfords seems to be the Steelmate in the Auto Express link. It definitely has the same display but it has 4 sensors.

Reversing Beep????. No reversing beep in the IS that is sold in Ireland. I thought this was only on Japanese cars. Looked at the 4 sensor and display system in Halford over here at the weekend. €229 (£155) including install and then €29 for colour matching. does that seem resonable.

I have had experience with the invisable type. Was not impressed in the slightest. They only worked for about 2 months then the sensitivity slipped and they had to be adjusted constantly.

I am very happy with my new car and the dealer is going to be re-doing the rear bumper next week and a general detailing as well as part of the deal. I would like to keep it as good as possible for as long as possible. However, my wife will be driving the car the odd time and she does not have a very good reversing record. She has parking sensors on her current car (BMW 318 auto) and hasn't had any bumps yet so I think I should put something on this one also. Anyone know of a good brand that will last and actually work well. I know you can get kits for around €60 or £40 but I don't think I trust something that cheap. Also it is better if I have it done before the bumper is re-painted so I can get the colour matched.

I think you are looking at it wrong here. You have not been refused cover. They have declined to quote you. Not the same and you should not be listed anywhere as having been rejected insurance. If that was the case everyone in the world would at some point have been refused cover and we would all be on a list.

I am sorry if this has been asked a 1000 times but I searched and couldn't find anything and this is my first visit to the site. I have just bought a 2001 IS200 in Ireland. (only 21K mls from Lexus dealer). While reading up on the car I found that apparently there was an ECU update in 2002. Simple question. Can my local Lexus dealer reprogramme my ECU with the new settings or was there more then just a software change. Thanks.
