  1. I think I read someplace on this forum that they have switched to a non solvent or oil based paint as per soon to be implimented EU rules. Will be a while before these new paints are up to the resistance standards of the older solvent stuff.
  2. I think I spot a yellow BMW 3 series in the back row as well. ??????
  3. Sometimes I wish people like that would just keep their mouth shut and not say anything rather then try to fob you off with incorrect information. Yes there are more motorways in the UK and USA but the speed limit here is higher then the UK in all cases (UK limit is 70mph) and the US in most States the Limit is 70mph and 80mph on some interstate routes. Our limit is 120km/h (74.5mph) all of 5.5mph less then the highest in the US.
  4. Best I have ever done with 75% motorway driving is 387 mls and was driving about 30 mls with the warning light on. I think I was probably on fumes at that point. Don't know what size the reserve tank on the 200 is (anyone?)
  5. From memory these panels only work through the cigar lighter if it is a permanently powered one. I.e. when you turn off the ignition you can still get power from the lighter. If it is not you have to wire it in to the battery. The Lexus does not have a permanently powered lighter.
  6. I know it's The Sun but their motor section is usually OK. Best Car Make
  7. Thanks, what's the best tool to use to cut it out? I would have thought one of those Dremel things with a light touch. Would go through it like butter.
  8. I'll tell you what. Since my daughter was born 3 years ago I think I have found a 100 uses for baby wipes. They clean almost anything and don't seem to leave anything behind. Over use on spots on cloth can bleach a little though so be carefull
  9. Have a look on ebay. There a plenty (look under cigar lighter as well) you can get ones that are angled or ones that have a cable between the adaptor and the socket.
  10. Unfortunatly the ones that learn aren't in any condidtion to go back and tell the others.
  11. Invisible Shield They will make any size you want. Just measure the screen and order based on that.
  12. There is indeed. I have it on my machine at home. I can't remember the name of it rigth now. Something like "DVD Backup" Will allow you to "Backup" any DVD and remove the region set up. You will need a Dual Layer DVD burner to fit most films with their menus and extras onto one disk but you can backup just the move without the menus and most films will then fit on one disk. However films with a lot of CGI stuff like King Kong will have to be split across two disks.
  13. If this is the Japanese advert why is the steering wheel on the left?????? Something strange there.
  14. You clean them just as I described. Buy a bottle of injector cleaner and pour into an almost empty tank. Then fill the tank and drive. It will begin to work after maybe 20 miles or so. If this makes a small difference but doesn't cure the problem then bring it to an independent guy and he should be able to do a more detailed clean. If the bottle of cleaner makes no difference then it is not the injectors. Every car will have a small amount of this, especially an automatic and especially while cold. The load on the battery incleases with every electrical system you use so the revs will drop but if the battery is OK then it should recover after a few seconds when the ECU realises what is happening and compensates (unless there is another issue such as dirty injectors). Bring your car to Halfords and ask them to check the battery for you. They have units that can check if your battery is on it's way out and while your there buy a bottle of injector cleaner.
  15. I'm sure your have already tried this but sometimes the most obvious is the last we check. Have you tried cleaning your injectors. I.E. wait till your next fuel fill. Pour in a bottle of injector cleaner and then fill up. Drive for a while. My wifes 3 series had this problem and an injector clean sorted it after about 50 miles.
  16. I looked at the map today (Collins Toad Atlas 2005) :o ) to see what route it was trying to take me down. It would taken me in a much "as the crow flies" route from J14, but all A roads...so may be it was trying to reroute me... Scott - have you ever "disobeyed her" (SATNAV that is, not the wife... :winky: ) and gone stratight into the traffic congestion to see if it actually exists? That's where I think mine is barmy, because on the few occasions that I have headed for the congestion I have actually been better off... Back in the days when I had to travel across Dublin city to get to and from work I used to always head in the direction that the radio said there was a traffic jam. My theory was that if everyone was getting the same traffic report as me then they were all heading the other route and the jam should clear quickly while a jam formed in the other direction.
  17. I recently got the rear bumper replaced on my IS200. Halfords paid due to their screw up fitting parking sensors. Cost was €865 (£595) including spray, refitting sensors and 2 day car rental.
  18. Have a look. The IS 200 is the 11th most reliable car in the UK. Relability
  19. The cheapest version of the car in Ireland is the Diesel and diesel is usually cheaper here then petrol at the pump also. A lot of people here are very dissapionted that there is no Auto option for it.
  20. Totally agree with the above comment - Takes that guesswork out of "I wonder how close I....." BANG "oops :tsktsk: " The Ed Ah yes but I have recently discovered the BIG flaw with having parking sensors. Yes you can fit into those spaces that previously you might have driven by but unfortunatly the cars then front and back of you don't usually have sensors. The result is scuff marks on your bumpers from those cars getting out. I now will only park in the spaces I would have always parked in but use the sensors to make it a quicker job.
  21. Insist on the replacement in my view. I think they are Bullsh**ing you about having to carry the cost. It is warrantee work and as such is paid for by Lexus. If they are not convinced it is the seat itself tell them to put one from their demo model into your car for a week and see if the sound returns. If it does then it's not the seat. Simple and quick.
  22. Shouldn't be a problem taking the sensors with you. Normaly the control box will be in the spare wheel well. This will only have a ground and power from the reverse light line. Depending in the type on unit it will have a display in the car or just a small speaker.
  23. What date was that around do you know?
  24. You could send them over to the UK by armed guard in a hired limo get them reconed with 9ct gold and fly them back in a private jet for less ! :D :D I could probably buy a first year IS200 for that money in the UK if I looked hard enough. I can get them refurbed for a lot less but I realy like the diamond cut parts which are lost in any refurb. I should know tomorrow if they can do anything based on the original warrantee. Anyone know what was the story with this. What years were included in the replacements.
