  1. I have seen similar referneces on this forum before. I must say I have never been asked to pay for a courtesy car, although the form I signed last time I had one from Lexus did say it should of been £10 !! Ususally proof of your own insurance is enough to show you can drive it as 3rd party !
  2. Just out of intrest what where the other items in the list.
  3. I would think that realistically the only place you'll get one is Lexus. Unless your really lucky and someone on the forum, has one that they no longer have use for. Quite a few have upgraded the satnav to PDA style I think. Best of luck though :)
  4. @ JamieSD if you dont have the remote shown in the link above you are stuffed, I think !!!
  5. Turn key ignition on, go to the box in the boot (CD drive not Hard Drive) and pull down the flap on the front. If theres a disc in there it will come out. I do think however that it there were no disc the satnav screen who say word to the effect.
  6. Il will the the puppies fluffy bits if it's rattle free :D
  7. I did suffer from the temporery version on this a few weeks ago. (lasted 2 days) The only place I could lock/unlock from was if I was stood at the petrol filler cap. Then after a few hours it worked again and touch wood it's been fine since. Very Very Weird
  8. i am sure that you won't need to pay the £1200, stick to your guns....
  9. I dont see that you have anything to lose, fight for the FOC wheels and make sure you point out the fact that you are totally p'd off with the extra delay. Tell them if they are not careful they'll have 2 cancelled orders. :)
  10. You should ask the salesman to be completly honest with you. Then and ask him how much the Guy who has cancelled should of been paying, then do the sums with what you have paid, I bet the differernce doesn't come to £1200 !!!
  11. Good Afternoon I live in ******, my local dealer is Lexus ****** who offer a good discount to Gold Members on parts and labour, I think when you (if you) join the club there is a list of dealers showing what discounts are available so there may be a ****** listed. But FYI here are the ****** details : Lexus ****** are happy to offer our Gold Members a wopping 20% off their standard labour rate and 15% discount on service items and accessories. They even provide a 10% discount on trim and body panels. Your contact at Lexus ****** is Mark Headlam - Parts Manager Please remember to mention that you are a "LOC Gold Member" at the time of booking in your car or ordering parts. Your membership card will be requested. http://www.lexus.co.uk/teesside
  12. Yeah seems too good to be true, and i think it is, I just rung the number and it said the call could not be connected! seems a bit dodgy to me Probably a typing error
  13. Calm down lad, I did'nt want to start a argument anyway :D I was trying to help him out cos he asked for some advise. :winky: I thought the Honda S2000 won it? :P If you actually read it, it says : Lexus IS200/300 CLASS WINNER Rating 85.5% Overall Ranking 2nd
  14. An "outdated looking Lexus" will still turn more heads that a :tsktsk: Focus Bulls**t, ST170's are great cars, and they look the part. I know they are only a Ford, but isnt the Lexus just a posh Toyota? Everything a IS200 has in it, a ST170 has in it. Yeah Yeah Each to their own but........ .........JD Power 2005 Lexus IS200/300 CLASS WINNER Rating 85.5% Overall Ranking 2nd Once again, an excellent performance from the IS. It remains a clear winner in this class, even though the gap to the next best has narrowed since last year. Again, the IS secures second place overall, too, and for the same reason: consistently good scores across the board. It’s rated as excellent in three categories, and above average in every other category except for one. The only real criticism – and it was surprisingly heavy criticism – was for its fuel consumption; diesel power is unavailable. Otherwise, it’s good news all the way. Owners love the looks, the dealers and the interior, and they like driving it. Last, but not least, it has above-average build quality and mechanical reliability. Enough said
  15. An "outdated looking Lexus" will still turn more heads that a :tsktsk: Focus
  16. @ Noel , for me the clutch makes all the difference.
  17. Focus nice car but its not a Lexus, when you say to people I drive a Focus they say "Oh" when you say you drive a Lexus their ears prick up and they are intrested in model, age , proformance etc.
  18. I have used it a few times (in emergencies) and it always feels aweful , it feels really fierce and I get the impression it cant be good for the car, theres no way I would use it as an everyday car stopper. The breaks do a super job and break dust although a pain is fairly easily washed off.
  19. Evening Guys n Gals Took the family out for the day and used the satnav, to get us to our destination, however when I turned the engine off the screen closed but the stopped about an inch from full closure. I turned the engine off a few time i.e. Petrol stop, shop stop and it did the same each time. When you start the engine it opens fully but closes an inch for the bottom each time. If you press the open and close button it closes fully. Anybody and had any experience of this ? Regards Chris
  20. B)--> QUOTE(T7RY B @ Jun 21 2006, 03:56 PM) ← They come up on ebay from time to time. Keep a look out. If that's the latest version that's probably not back, I expected it to be a lot more than that.
  21. Screen works off a separate sensor to the lights, mine work independently of each other And if you switch it over to day mode, it only dims the screen and won't make it switch the screen colours :) Intresting, how do you do it ?
  22. :) I have the factory fit and it is useful, and does look cool when it pops up. On the downside : 1)As previously stated CD's a very expensive if you want the latest 2)No overlay compatability (i.e. speed camera, resturants etc) 3)Can't program it on the move (only when statioary) 4)Doesnt show current speed (this might sound daft but the GPS give and acurrate speed your speed probably wont) 5)You cant use it in another car 6)No postcode input 7)Can't change the voice 8)Screen goes dark if lights are on (fine if dark but a pain if raining and lights are on) 9)Will be very expensive it if breaks to replace. On the upside 1)Is very easy to use ()when stationary) 2)Has clear instructions 3)Gives a nice highlight of route when approaching a change (i.e. roundabout, junction etc) 4)Looks cool 5)Thefts probably wont break into your car for it. 6)You'll get a bit back when you sell the car, as an nice extra to have 7)You cant forget it (i.e.when you need it it's not in the other car) Hope this helps :D :D :D
  23. I agree, its not something I have ever suffered from Honda, Peugeot,Ford or Citreon. Most worrying thing for me is that it works OK at work, but I have just nipped home and it's still causing me problems at home !!!! Sounds like you've got some major radio interference in your area. Is there any work going on around where you live, ie: installation of new phone masts etc? Not that i'm aware of ! Any idea who I should contact ?
