  1. think your right, same as the is200 :) I was unsure about this.....So the IS200 has an intelligent auto bos that adapts to driving style right ? - What if the car is driven by 2 people like mine with 2 opposite driving styles. I drive 'positvely' as opposed to sedate. If I reset the ECU (Which btw I'm scared to do cos I'm outta my depth) and start flooring it straight after, will it become more responsive ? - seriously. BTW how do u reset the ECU again ? Thanks :P
  2. Hi. Yes that's right. I did mine. It's very easy. The front one it more tricky though. You will need a 31-35mm Festoon bulb for the dome and a BA9 for the map light :)
  3. ooh ooh u got the chrome heater control rings ! Are they a Lexus part is so do u have a part # and price u paid please ? - Also do u happen to also have the chrome rings for the door speeaker surround that came in on the 2004 models ? - or anyone with a part# for it . I know it's a bit but I only seen the heater ring in on car b4. Thanks :) -Just found a source for the chrome aircon rings on e-bay. $24.99 Free postage. Not bad. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1 No mention of adhesive just press-on - so I guess it must be machined on the inside to fit over the tooth-like eadges of the aircon knobs :) Now I just need to get those chrome front door-speaker surrounds hehe
  4. Evening guys. I fitted some amber LED's to my side repeaters recently and will soon be doing all the rest of the lights but the yellow plastic insert of the unit behind the clear lense which gives the 'fried egg' look is what I wanna remove. I don't wanna start and break it if it's not meant to come off. - I thought it was the bulb giving the fried egg effect but it's still there with the non coloured LED. Plus grime gets under the edges of the clear lense and I'd like to clean it anyway. Has anyone removed theirs with enough ease ? - Is there a good way to do it ? Thanks in advance for any advice :)
  5. Hi all. I was going to my local video store today, heading down the Ubridge rd at about 18:45 West Ealing and found myself behind a plat ice IS200 with boot spoiler with brake light reg **53 EBD. Since I got my IS in November '05 and started reading the LOC forums I always give a little wave to any IS200 owners I come accross :) So if it was you, Hello ! hehe. Funnily though on the same part of road on the other side I then saw 2 more IS's parked nose to nose. One blue one silver. I was beggining to think maybe some of u guys were in my area having a little meet
  6. I know these struts are said on the website to be for carbon bonnets but would these struts be fine on a heavier standard bonnet ? Thanks :) mate there are 2 types on the website, these ones for normal bonnets for £100 then the ones for carbon bonnets for £120. Don't know if Dave has any left but I got some stainless ones for £190. Hey, thanks didn't see those ! ;)
  7. Hi. I had to have the offside fog replaced under warranty. Where the bulb locks into the unit it corrodes and totally siezes up. Not even penentrating fluid helps. So to get the dead bulb out u end up shearing of the adjoining collar, which is made of mild steel - poor design there ! 3 months later same problem with the nearside, but as it was working at the time they wouldn't fix it. Just had to pay £160 inc VAT for a new one without a bulb or fitting ! - If u want a bulb with it it'll be nearly £20 more. They said the prices for these went down at one point, but now have gone back up. Hence they now don't bother to keep in stock on site. I didn't wanna risk getting a used one of e-bay in case it had the same problem. - They dont show the back of the unit in the pic ;) Lexus part prices make me
  8. I know these struts are said on the website to be for carbon bonnets but would these struts be fine on a heavier standard bonnet ? Thanks :)
  9. I've heard about these clay bars but really don't know how it works. Could someone enlighten me please hehe ?
  10. Hmmm, yeah I think u might be right cos I looked up close at my standard grille and the odd small stone chip has revealed a sliver surface under the graphite color paint ! Don't think I wann risk trying that though hehe.
  11. Thanks for that info Mac - very comprehensive. Has anyone got a spare Ivory one that would be fine for an '01 SE Auto ? Trying to find one for a good price like those that Mr Singh got for the GB which I missed by a couple months :( Still trying to get a clear answer from the dealer about how much they want for the whole kit. Well, I'm not sure about the rules on here about asking if anyone has a particular thing to sell if you're not a Gold member, but I put a 'want it now' request on e-bay for the armrest and sports pedals too in case anyone on here can help. I use the same name on e-bay as I do here. These 2 things are really niggling me lol. Thanks.
  12. I've had that before, but it wasn't the seat causing it, it was actually the seat belt buckle. Had it replaced under warranty, so not sure if there's an easy fix Good idea. I didn't really think it was the seat but part of the mounting or something else attached to it - will try that thanks ;)
  13. Evening all. My driver's seat is driving me nuts. Every road undulation and speed hump causes it to creak. Anyone else solved this problem before ?
  14. hehehe 'They can take it' - Quality !
  15. Hehehe. Yeah I've met a Mr. W a n k e before when I used to sell PC's. He really didn't like being called Mr. W a n k e talk about volunteering to be called by your first name asap hehe. I also met a Mrs. Death !
  16. Evening all. I know that the threads on wheels are extensive, but to look through them all takes time and a search hasn't provided anything. Basically I'm looking to refurb my wheels due to kerbing. I see however that you can have this done aswell as change the style in which the wheel is finished. I'm thinking that the standard alloys on my silver IS would look great and rarer, if I had them done in a gunmetal/black chrome type finish. Anyone got any suggestions of good places that offer this service for a reasonable cost in the West London area ? Many Thanks :)
  17. I remmembered the product I used was by Comma from Halfords. It worked a treat for my 406, now I just went out and bought another tin to use on the IS, as I'm starting to get a little pong now
  18. I quite like my leather one. Doesn't look out of place at all, and are obviously less of them around. The other thing is that the giant ball bearing is too cold to the touch hehehe :)
  19. Morning guys. Just a quick question. I've noticed on virtually all the pics I see of these, they are the metal ball type shifter, but mine came with a black leather one with a chrome tapered stalk that I saw a description of as a rare option that was available. - Just wondering.... :)
  20. Hey guys, - who here is into F1 ? I heard a rumour that Toyota were thinking of setting up a second team like Honda and Red Bull...under the Lexus name.....Would be good don't ya think ? - Mind you as Lexus is considered 'above' Toyota I guess they'd have a hard time giving them the same kinda budget ! Anyone else heard about this ?
  21. Morning guys, was looking in my standard unmodified angine bay this mornig while getting a dent sorted. All those black hoses look rather bland, and I know most of you guys will have changed them for nice coloured ones etc. I don't have much mechanincal knowlegde so fitting may be a problem. How much am I looking at to do this little thing to spruce up the engine bay in terms of purchase and fitting ? Thanks :)
  22. Hi, I know this thread hasn't been posted on for a few months but assume that guys still read them etc - I know I do, - so much info to read about on here :) I recently returned from the video store to find 2 small handprints on my bonnet and a dent 2/3 the way up the driver's side right on the damn crease ! They obviously pushed it down little s***s. I have gotten qoutes from various places, garages/chipsaway - most ridiculous, but I have dentwizard coming round on Monday to check it out. I did so on advice here, and judging from examples of repairs on creases on their website, hopefully they can do it :) Will update you. :) Actually it was dentdevils sorry. - Just had them round - did a great job on the suage line dent, - would reccommend to anyone. I'd say it's at 95% without any painting etc. I'm well pleased :)
  23. I kinda thought it was rubbish, but so many people have left positive feedback about it working, I thought it was worth asking you guys, - I far more trust your advice than his hehe
  24. Hehehe ok thanks Mike :) Do u have a part # for the clear lenses for future ref ? By the way I know this is but I remember reading some posts about a kit to do chrome around the windows. I think u said u did it but don't see it in pics of black betty :) I have seen carbon plates for the door pillars but is there a custom kit for the IS200 that converts the black window edging and door pillars to chrome. and on the issue of chrome hehe, I found an older thread on foglight garnishes and trunk bar, and posted on it but no takers yet. - Can I get these in the UK ?
