  1. What exactly do you do mat? As you seem to know the tte lot very well. Was your's the first to be super-charged too? And when you gonna arrange for me to 'look after' that IS430?? :winky:
  2. Either a dodgy ballast or a bad earth? Have you tried taking the hid kit off and seeing if it still happens?
  3. Oh right. Worcester is usually ok for FM. Well the guys offered to put a new stereo in it but I would lose the 6 CD changer. Mind you most of the music we own is MP3 now, but I gather I can get a kit to run an MP3 player from it quite cheaply of the standard stereo unit. (any linkys welcome). It might be worth taking the car to work again and seeing if the signal improves nearer Birmingham. What have you guys done. Stuck with standard or put a new boombox in? Oops, was meant to say the reception in the car is crap. When i'm in my mates' cars they all get fine reception, so I just think its the aerial that needs sorting out. But you might as well get a stereo with dab if you like to listen to the radio, as the uk will soon be digitised!
  4. Tbh mate, the radio signal is really crap. Even with my new stereo it doesn't pick up much on fm. Prob just be better trying out a new ariel first and take it from there. Or just do a nice new install yourself and get the geezer to pay summat towards it! :winky:
  5. Yep, all pioneer h/u remote wires are blue. You going for a retro install? Might be the next big 'thing'! Ps, i've got a portable black and white tele, 10inch with LW radio built in, that you can have while waiting for your screen! :P
  6. Hey guys, o2 giving away free genie sims again. Clicky me!
  7. He's got a rs200 altezza, so guessing it won't have the heated seats, hence why no buttons for them. The fascia only takes the place of the double-din stereo, so you will still have the control panel under it. Just make sure you mask the side of where the stereo is, as it will get scratched when taking the old stereo out. I learnt that the hard way! :tsktsk:
  8. These are what i've got on mine. Just need a good polish now and then, and they are fine. I'm in the north west too, where its p!sses down every other day, and apart from the usual brake dust building up, they've been in good nick. I use this turtle wax stuff to clean, makes it really easy. Not a fan of turtle wax, but this is really good. Just brush it on, and wash it off. Robert's your dad's brother! :D Just found a better pic. Chromes really do make the car look good!
  9. What date we meeting and what time? Is it april 22nd? Just clarifying for others. :winky:
  10. Pm me your details robin and i'll send you one. The perks of me dad having a shop!
  11. Or go for an is200 and get the supercharger kit and a few goodies off dave for the £2k. :winky: (If you want a manual).
  12. I agree, especially with the alpine h/u. Got the alpine 7998r in mine, with diamond audio 6.5s up front, using the standard 6x9s at the back(till i can be bothered swapping them) and 2x10 jl audio subs. The difference in the sound is amazing, as i thought the standard lexus jobby was good until i heard all this in the car.
  13. Wait till leopard comes out and buy 1 then. Won't be long. And you'll prob pay the same if not a little less then buying one now. Also you'll be able to install vista on the new version of bootcamp. So you can have the best of both worlds, and see how much of a crap copy vista os is!!! :P
  14. Count me in. Any time as its local.
  15. I'll have a check for you lee. If any probs getting it, give us a shout and i'l send it you.
  16. Nice jay, looking good. You decided which grille yet? Place is winter hill, close to bolton. Give us a shout next time you go jamie, its not far from me.
  17. Thats really weird, mine does not spray the lights if I spray the windscreen with the lights on. Maybe I have a fault, a fault I guess I can live with. :o Mine doesnt spray lights unless i press the button too!? As far as i know, this only happens every tenth spray of the windscreen which cleans the headlights too. But of course, you guys should be using rain-x anyway so you don't need your wipers! :P I think the lip looks good if you ain't done much to the car, but the bumper looks sweet with other mods. Or it could be the other way around!
  18. Oh mate, gutted for you. But at least the repairs look gud, can't tell you had a crash. Glad to see the car back to normal, well almost!
  19. CLICK ME! Its like a mini hpi check, and like the title suggests, handy if you wanna buy a car and it doesn't cost a bomb. Comes in useful if you wanna see a car thats some distance away and you wanna know if its worth the petrol going to see it. Have saved myself a bit of time and money using this!
  20. Cheers Raj, me thinks i'll have to take a couple of days off work to sort my car! :o And i'll be waiting till it gets a bit warmer. Like in summer! But i'll post the pics up when i finally get round to doing it.
  21. In mine, i just connected the yellow battery wire to the blue/yellow wire, and the red ign wire to the grey wire. Just cut into the wires and solder the h/u wires on and insulate, as it will be easier to put back to standard. Best to run the ground from a metal point in the car as i had a few problems when I used the brown earth wire in the car (i did mine from the frame where you bolt in the heater control panel). Also try and disconnect the existing amp's wiring, as you'll be using other amps and you'll drain your battery very fast, as i found out! :tsktsk: Thats what i can remember off top of me head, but can have a proper look tomorrow. Quality stereo btw! :winky:
  22. It's good to put faces, and names to people on here. I'm definately up for another one soon, hopefully with a few more of us there! And a few additions to the car. :winky: Chris and Dave, pm's sent. You'll have to drive with your snow button on Stav, at least till the crappy weather has gone. Glad you and the car didn't get damaged or owt. Good luck in Crewe Jamie, let us know how you get on. Loved your car Lee, might have to get similar spec'd upon mine. Couldn't believe the speed and the handling. Forget to ask you what brakes you got as they were very capable! Thanks in advance for the guide Raj, will wait till it gets a bit warmer though! Roll on the next one!
  23. The only logical step after the IS has to be the Honda Integra Type R DC5. Nice car! Fancy one myself.
  24. Gutted for you mate. But i hope you come along to the meet in warrington and show off your matiz!
