  1. This price includes fitting at Koln in TTE's factory well that's not what he told me, as the full quote was: Your price is 6.467,47 Euro + 95,20 Euro freight costs to your delivery address. of course I'm not much of a negotiator, considering that I am not interested at this price anyway. Just thought I'd add this for clarity.
  2. Talkin about ppl wanting a supercharger, you may interested to know that TTE only have 4 left, and the current price is... well a bit out of the market, considering what the residual value of our car is. Anyway, that's what I got from him the other day when I asked about a compressor: We have 4 IS200 compressor kits still on stock. Then they will be discontinued and not available any longer. Your price is 6.467,47 Euro
  3. thought so... thnks for the input, tho.
  4. same here, around 4500 revs... always been like that.
  5. so.... digital tuning is not convenient unichip doesn't really do much on a n/a car.... I now found THIS... seems like a piggyback to be soldere dto the ECU, but - much alike digital tuning - the HP gain seems... irrealistic... what do you guys think? EDIT: maybe it's just me, but i'm starting to think that these "box" like this power system are just a fancy version of the now-classic e-bay resistor everyone of us have seen and pondered upon, at least for a second...
  6. yep, that would be me fittin the camcon is pretty easy, only problem is the wiring harness being too short so you don't have much choiche of where to put it in the cabin. It does smooth out the tourque and - dependin on how you set it - you dont' feel the "kick" at 4.5k revs anymore and it feels more torquey at low revs - that's at least with my settings. But really, don't expect too much, if I had to do it again I'd probably not go for it. Truth to be said, you should have it dyno-tuned to get the maximum gain, but I haven't done it yet. If there's something I can help you with, just let me know. take care
  7. I have emailed and ask.... it is a piggyback unit, and for our car it appears not to be a DIY job, as the guy told me I have to take the car to their garage and leave it there 2/3 days- that's way too much of an hassle to me, and I guess of no use for anybody living in england...
  8. what susprise me the most is the bit where they say "shipping charges" - makes me think it's just some sort of piggy back unit with some standard map, wich usually means no good compared to a chip tailored to your car...
  9. yup here we go CLICK wasn't sure if it was against the rule or something....
  10. Hello searching the internet i recenty come across a swiss company that claims to get 14 hp gain out of the 1f-ge engine with some chip tuning. I was led to believe that it was pretty hard to get any noticeable gain from our engine just by chipping it, but now I see this and it seem that almost 170 hp for less than 400 eur sounds too good to be true, especially after reading some scary storeis here of people spending thousand for not much more. Maybe someone has tried this/know about this company/product? Thank you for your comments/thoughts r
  11. so i suppose I won't have much customer support in case of failure - but seriously, do you think they'll be too harsh for road use only?
  12. I've seen THIS on german ebay, I was actually lookin for some coilover (mostly for the look, no racing needs) and I thought the price of these was interesting. Does anybody ever heard of B+G, or have any experience to share?
  13. just had mine done for 350 eur, by a lexus dealer. Me too, as yemgi, experienced higher price on much lesser car...
  14. sorry didn't mean to come out rough :)
  15. wouldnt be leaving my RS in the dust! did i say RS? Not. you could've said "wouldnt be leaving my (pick a car of yr choice with over 200 hp) in the dust!" but I thought we were talking about the IS, not some other car. That said, Altezza's are not sold in italy so there's no room for comparision anyhow.
  16. well now come on! I know being italian play a big role in that, but - let say - from 147 on, Alfa's been pretty good, with nice sporty lookin and performance to leave our IS in the dust. I've never owned one personally but I wouldn't mind - if only they had a rwd! :)
  17. yes you can, not in a very precise way though, as you can just adjust the fueling based on the rpm only. :duh:
  18. sure not the best solution I know, but I'm sure I've heard of people playing around with the fuel pressure regulator in order to backup a boost increase, now that can't be too precise either - that's why I though camcon could do the same in the IS... But please remember i know nothing so I'm just letting thoughts flow
  19. allright, agree with that. but on one side we have some standalone ecu costing some 1000 eur (circa) and up, doing a wonderful job but maybe a little overkill for just a little upgrade, while on the other we have a much more simple unit (camcon)much cheaper, of course with very limited fueling control abilities but maybe enough to handle that extra 0,2 bar... thats pretty much what I'm wondering at the moment. Any thoughts?
  20. afaik 0,3 is safe (according to TTE), at 0,6 there's been conrod breaking (maybe due to a little overboost to 0,7) so I think playin in the area of 0,4/0,5 should keep you going for a while. Of course lower=safer, anything added to the standard configuration increase the risk of breaking something...
  21. so in a way I am correct to think that, with the help of the camcon I can add some fuel to keep the mixture correct in case I decide to up the boost 0,15/0,20 bar? of course this is not gonna be perfect like with a proper mapping, but more like a fuel pressure regulator... is that correct or I'm having all my fact mixed up? :duh:
  22. this evening i was joggin a bit and while at that thinkin "hmm i wonder if-considering the fueling almost to the max with s/c and standar injector- the camcon can be of any help to squeeze ouy that extra hp if matched with some sort of upgrade on the induction side" considering that the larger pulley will give an extra 0,2 bar of boost - probably too much too handle - maybe just a larger intercooler (katana estimate is 0,15 bar extra) is right what it takes to bring the max out of the standard engine w/o any furher upgrade. is that really stupid of me to think this is a good option? ps: tbh i have no clue how the fueling is adjusted once the s/c is in place.... is it a chore demanded to the piggyback unit?
  23. hm sorry to hear that, have you checked the sparkplugs? crankmotor running, but engine not firing up... maybe the spark plugs are worn out, need to be replaceed, or maybe you're running too rich for some reason and again th eplugs are soaked & wet... just a thought ;-)
  24. how? well I guess lots of people just follow the same path: exhaust, some sort of induction kit/air filter, some electronics to make it look like a pro, then sooner or later you end up considering to sell something in yr house just to get the money for the supercharger... well at least that's where I'm at themoment :D
  25. Hi and welcome! I'm afraid you won't get much just by chipping/remapping. you might wanna look here hope it helps ;)
