GoldfingerLS, as far as I can remember this was a blue print filter,I was told when enquiring to ask for the one with the one-way valve as the one supplied at the local shop was a Mann but without the valve,I'll contact them and see if I can get a part number as the filter carton is long gone, will post it when I find out. Ian.

Fuel Consumption
ian11 replied to BigJon's topic in LS 400 / Lexus LS 430 / Lexus LS 460 / Lexus 600h / Lexus 500h Club
27.8 ltrs /4.56 = 6.09 gallons which equates to 32.84,which is damn good for a 4ltr lump of a motor like these, but unless you have the same route with the same driver, same weather and road conditions, which is highly unlikely !! this thread will run and run. ps, mine does 43 to the gallon on the m/way at 70, ask the wife !!!!!!! how do you think i can justify the fuel costs, "honest dear its better on fuel than my old shed of an escort and look at the ride quality" and ive owned it since may and not filled it to the brim yet,the garage i use has a fifty quid limit on overnight fills, got fed up with the scroats doing a runner with full tanks !!! I agree, but its on air,saw a gadget on flee bay in aussie that plugs into the system and gives you more control over suspension height, somthing like 12 positions in place of the standard two,but got conflicting advice about how easy it was to install so never followed it up,still keep having a peek on thw site to see if it comes down in price, worked out at £180 with postage. Ian.

Mines a 91 celsior and it was the amazing condition that got me hooked,i had the usual probs with aircon panel ( sorted from scrapper for £15 still attached to a uk radio so that sorted out that at the same time, CD changer that refused to work £50 from a breaker in cheshire and got a steering rack at the same time, £60 - lookes like its been recond recently and mine had a weep from an end seal) done the timing belt myself as there was no history with it and thinking forward slightly got some front suspension bits from the US on the advice of the MOT tech,Ive had it since april and although ive done a few bits and pieces to her,its cost less than I would expect to spend on the equivelent 16 yr old brit tat I usually managed to get stung with, still cant get over the ride for a car thats knocking on nearly sixteen years,so like the rest,if you find rust, take a hike no matter what the price, Ian ps. anyone else with a celsior ?? who you insured with cos I jumped in with both feet due to the quick purchase and reckon mines a bit steep, £610 for a 51 year old with 7 yrs seems over the top, when my 97 UK imprezza was only £360. cheers. Ian. -
hi,chris you seem to know about the LS400/celsior and before I sort out the odd dash problem I need to sort the mot problems ie front suspension first, but Ive 5 months to sort it,its a 91 celsior on low miles and I love it, i'm capable with the spanner and just need a contact with any web sites you may know with the parts required,I paid next to nothing for the car as the previous owner went to lexus for a quote so owing to the condition I can blow some cash cos be-honest what can you buy thats got the reliability of this model, apart from the climate control(which I managed to sort from a scrapper, cos he didnt realise that it was a differant section to the radio)what causes the Cd changer to jack in.its got power to it but nothing happens when the CD buttons pressed on the head unit, local repaires have know idea,so any help would be greatly appreciated. yours Ian.
