Its weird to see an aftermarket ecu fitted to a car with no mods. Might be wortth leaving it in somewhere to see what fuel the ecu is mapped to run on. maybe its running too rich on whatever fuel you use.

How much is the Apexi induction kit? Where can i get it from???
www.nengun.com sell them, think it works out the cheapest from them, you need to create an account to see the prices including delivery
-
Apexi one is the cheapest. Good quality kit and fits perfect. sounds great when you put the foot down.K+N don't do one for the Altezza . cant common on the Blitz or HKS ones
-
Cheers Mate that's brilliant! :D
I was concerned about the electrical connector the most.
Just wondering what all the other hoses do?
Never mind, if I don't need them, I don't need them.
Thanks again, R
extra hoses are vacuum hoses i think, at a certain rpm this would cause a flap in the airbox to lift allowing more air into the airbox. make sure you block off the valve on the top of the engine block as Noel mentioned otherwise the car wont run properly

Red Mica Like an oxido/orange color.
u were the one who had all the spoilers in carbon fiber?
Ill be in the Dominican republic for 2 weeks in September. Must keep an eye out for all these Altezza's

Nice choice there pal, may I ask what swayed you to the Legacy?
I dunno what swayed me, its got the power of Impreza/evo's (well only a few bhp off), very comfortable to drive, 4wd, bit of a sleeper, havent seen many of them around (B4 spec) and got it at a very good price!
-
Well Done looks brilliant! :) Seems a more "grown up" choice then the Impreza.
Ye Impreza's are the new civics over here! Only get used for Joy riding and ram raids!! Legacy is a bit of a sleeper me thinks!
-
Very nice matey is that the legacy b4??? :)
Ye its a 2003 Legacy B4, 4wd twin scroll turbo charged. 276bhp standard, soon as i get it passed the NCT(MOT) ill stick in a decat down pipe ,good panel filter and a remap and should be over 300 ponies and much smoother power delivery.
Sorry for not getting another Toyota!

Thought I'd throw up a few pics of my new car i got, should have it on the road by the end of next week
Will get some more pics up as soon as i get her on the road. Such a lovely car to drive and ooh the power!
-
That would happen to mine when you disconnect the Battery. Seems like the Battery might be on the way out. Does the car cold start ok? Maybe check any fuses relating to the ecu that maybe be gone. fuse box in the engine bay, one drivers side footwell and one passengers side footwell. Is there any aftermarket sounds in the car?

Basically i'm after a backbox so i want to know what diameter the inlet (on the backbox) should be.
Thanks
i wouldnt buy anything other than an Altezza specific exhaust, wont make any difference performance wise and will sound like a moped screaming down the road!
-
Hi Chaps,
Could someone tell me what the inlet diameter is of the standard tezza backbox?
Much appreciated
Uffan
inlet diameter meaning the end that connects to the cat or the other end at the tip of the exhaust?

I ban Warren! for not letting me know if he received the sat nav screen yet. ( i lost the tracking no. and im in London for the week!)
-
i ban wozza for being a smart arse and having a quicker connection than me. also ban him for making me lose that cheque he sent me
-
I ban Geoffers because i like "The Streets" and he's a hairdresser! :shutit:
-
dunno about ecu's for autos
you could try asking on tezzaworld.com if there's any tuned Auto's over there
Brash Boy Apexi Power FC is the only one i know of.
-
I ban Noel because he drives an auto and cant do rings!
-
yeah I've had a full engine rebuild but with bells and whistles added ;)
if your thinking of a rebuild there's a few people you could talk to Thor racing, prolex, TDI these should all be able to help it just depends on how far/crazy you want to go and how much money you have to spend at least if you talk to all 3 you will get a ruff idea of how much a rebuild could cost
you take a bit of a risk when buying a 2nd hand engine off of someone, but if you know the history of the car it can't be bad, but I found a few dodge sellers on ebay,
have a chat with some of the Irish boys on Tezzaworld as they may know of a right off you could use as a donor vehicle
I thought about getting a MR2 turbo engine and dropping that in but wasn't sure how much of a problem it would be marrying up the gearbox and other bits
my engine is up for grabs, no damage to it from the crash, its on the way to a scrap yard as they were put a mad salvage value on it. I can price it up for you if your interested

Hi chaps,
I was just wondering if the IS300 lights headlights and tail-lights would fit and altezza?
Thanks in advance
headlights are different, not 100% sure about the tail lights but i think they are the same

There is a fuse box in the footwell behind a panel, have a look there.
The fuses are standard automotive type and can be got from Halfrauds or any motor factor.
Hope that helps
so on the altezza, there is 3 fuse boxes, 1 in the engine bay, one in the drivers side footwell to the right of the pedals nearest the door and one on the passengers side foot well, closest side to door too. little panels pop off and on the back of them should be diagrams showing you what each fuse is for. The fuses are mini blade fuses and can be gotten from any motor factors. get a few though incase it pops again, 7.5, 10 and 15amp are the most common ones, you might find a few spare ones in the fuse box under the bonnet

so what your telling me that both of Greddys turbo kit isn't compatible with my auto( i thought i found the answer)why?
this sucks, there must be away to make it work.
l,ll have to do some research and ask my local tuning garage if its possible
i think the ecu supplied with the kit isn't suitable for auto's. if you got a brash boy apexi power fc, this should solve the issue i think
-
Does anyone have a standard back box for an is200 or altezza for sale?
I do! but im in Ireland
-
thanks for the heads up
hhmm interesting, but i will only gain about 25-30 bhp from these mods and also it sounds very costly.
i was wondering how can i make my rev limiter go above 7000 rpm becuase all rs200 autos are limited 7000, would this improve my 0-60. what do u think?
i think the only way to remove the rev limiter is fit an aftermarket ecu. wouldn't really improve your 0-60 by much. have you checked out this turbo kit:
Trust bolt on kit cheap as chips but not sure if it works with the auto's. maybe send them a mail
-
My rs200 was running a bit lumpy so I took it to the garage.
They told me it has oil passing the piston rings (the plugs were knackered at only 7 months old).
What sort of price should I expect for an engine rebuild?
Anyone know how much second hand beams engines go for and where I could get one?
I really don't know what to do with it. Any advice would be appreciated.
Talk to Robin H about rebuild, think he's doing that at the moment. My Altezza is off to the scrapyard soon so you could get the engine from taht. Not sure how much they cost second hand, Thor racing have a few brand new ones!
