  1. In the end, had to have it repaired. the puncture was just too massive Interestingly enough - Lexus use a small metal sleeve that is NON standard from yrou halford metal sleeve. The valve is normal rubber valve. Although i know you can get a total metal valve. At least, its totally repaired now. spec for spec. Total Costs £ 144.49 Excellent i reckon Actual size! Some promotion. THese guys who changed the wheel are Event tyres. firendly. professional and fast. got here at 8am in the misty morning! Highly recommeneded. Someone get a gold Lexus discount with em. They managed to source the SP maxx whilst 20 otehr companies had difficulty getting them in (called in lexus woodford, but no one got back to me :( regarding a tyre repair)
  2. sounds good. I'll doa visual for a convoy of alan partridges :)
  3. righty. is that the turn off before the Blackwall tunnel into Lewisham?
  4. is it easer to tread across town on the A406 from East Acton or across central london and congestion charge? to gallions reach
  5. probably a social for me. need to rain check witf the ex/semi ex. Finsih work at 9am sat, so might jsut drive over to tdi
  6. but these tyres are beautifully new tyres! Anti IS250 curse attack from the BMW ers already? Lol
  7. actually, I'm, going to ask EVENT tyre guys to come and fix me punctured tire, or stick a new one in. Failing that, pro tyres in endfield it is btu they were not open on sunday, so I couldnt give them business
  8. you should give a call to paul butt at leics if you want to finalise the deal. Bought my lexi with him. I'm sure he'll give some great treatment as well
  9. that A406 light is definately defunct. I saw it flashing continously today as well on the way to work
  10. deepest sympathies. How are you coping
  11. to replace the tyre puncture? or replace the tyre? I dont fancy driving up to watford /wilkshire with teh granny tyre
  12. well - the problem is, its a stone that is really stuck down into the tire, but as teh event guy said, there is no way to know without actaulyl seperating teh tire from the alloy. a mark of a more decent advice?
  13. woudl love to steppy - but got teh granma space saver on, so am tryign to fix teh darn tyre first before i can go on teh road...i keep laughing when i use the car....
  14. know any decent tyre repair shops in N london? I was thinking of going with EVENT mobile fitters..they could try sourcing the new Dunlop sport max..probably costing me in the region of £150 but they said they';'re take teh wheel off to see if it coudl be repaired first adn if so, no worries. they'd repair it there and then!
  15. I'm going to bring it to a few more wheel repair places to see if they can repair it or to lexus woodford to see if it canb be repaired. I think it can but jsut think Kwik fit wanted a fast buck....i dunno
  16. its only 1000 miles..it seems to be wearing evenly so far! Feels great as well! I know other peeps have either the yokohama or bridgestoens installed. But i really like the Dunlop Sport Maxx 245/ 45 R17 95W tyres!
  17. Here are pics of the space saver and tyre puncture i had...am not sad though. just glad no one was hurt! Tyre type: Dunlop sport maxx 245/45 R17 95W
  18. i thoght i would be, but somehow..I am happy i was jsut thankful nothign bad really happened. my life and others in the car were safe. it happeend only in the car park. the tyre needs to be replaced even though only 1000 miles on it. but that is replacable. Life isnt!
  19. Right guys! Here's a heads up on the space saver in action! Having done 1000 miles, on a casual trip to Oriental City, Edgeware road...a lovely piece of gravel stone...decided to wedge itself into me brand new Dunlop Sport Maxx rear tyre (its so new, its hard to find in any retail tyre fitting area) Luckily, I noticed a hissing noise only when parked in oriental city car park. So no damage to suspension or alloy. Took about 40 mins to go flat. Got the Lexus Roadside assist to change it..but abtou 45 mins today, due to lots of peeps calling in sick So the pics will be of the tyre puncture and the space saver
  20. so effectively..where can we get good old paint....bodyshops...i guess in the future, a good old cellulose repaint may work wonders!
  21. I am going to opt for the wax alot of thin layers option...whilst driving sensibly.. even then.. cant stop teh chippies form falling. i leave like a 10-15 ft gap behind a car in front, but people overtaking on teh motorway just looove to pull infront of the car, once they over take..effectively..rendering....the distance given....as any margin of safety...:( Maybe I need to stick an electrical field proximity system...so peeps can just cut in too close when overtaking...
  22. I dont think it will be out. I have been driving like a nun the past two weeks. Only finally got my first microscopic stone chip today..arggh (prior to having it professionally detailed tommorow :( ) but there are loads of bloody speed bumps that the IS250 seems to handle better even at 10mph
  23. only very very slowly (around 10-15 mph...) the area around acton is riddle with human moles digging up the roads everyday for no apparent reason....
