  1. There is a section in the manual, near the back I think, that lists all the things that can be customised, i think everything apart from folding the mirrors automatically is possible. Take the manual along to the dealer when you enquire about getting it done, if they say its not possible, show them the manual :)
  2. I went for Brechin Slate with cream leather interior, I ordered the colour without seeing it first, so I was a bit nervous when waiting for delivery, but when i saw it I knew I had made the right choice :D Everyone who has seen it has commented "what a really nice colour!" . It sprakles in the sunshine, and even manages to look bright on grey days (like we get all winter in the UK). Even when its really dirty, with all the salt on the road at the moment, it still manages to look good :) The cream leather is good, as it really brightens up the interior of the car on dark/grey days, only niggle about interior, is its going to be difficult to keep clean long term. But as others have said, its all down to personal choice/taste. Enjoy your car when you get it, I know I am :D :D
  3. Did your dealer tell you what was causing the rattle and how they fixed it. My car is back at the dealers next week and they want it for 2-3days so they can take out the entire dashboard. If you know what is causing the problem and what the fix is, I could tell my Dealer (Brighton) and it would save them (and me) and lot of hassle.
  4. Just picked the car up from delaership. They said they had fixed the rattle and had road tested it. they said that the fronr centre speaker grill was loose, and they had fixed it, but if the rattle was still there, then they would need the car for a couple of days to investigate further. Guess what. As soon as I drove away, the same rattle was still there, so I will call them again on Monday, and will keep you all updated. Surely someone has managed to get the rattle fixed somewhere, if so please tell me what was the cause, so I can tell the dealer.
  5. Dropped my car of today at the dealership for said dashboard rattle. I will let you all know, what the outcome is, and what the fix is, if they find one
  6. try elephant.co.uk they were the cheapest for me, and they had IS250 listed on the website
  7. The replacement glass is Lexus glass, which I was quite surprised with as the last time I had new windscreen on IS200, it was Pilkinton. I suppose because its so new, Pilkington haven't made one for the IS250 yet. The adhesive is not on the inside, its on the outside of the pillar on the paintwork. Is this easy to get off? ← I have a mate who works for RAC who has ordered original Lexus glass for my car. You are completly within your rights to have Original glass fitted although they don't tell you this, you may have to wait for it as they won't carry it in stock. As he said if you buy a 22K car you want the best parts fitted to it. ← Thanks hammers, that useful to know for the future
  8. Dunno if its primer or goo, but its black, if that helps. i will wait till it goes back to RAC for the windscreen trims, and I'll ask them

  10. The chip (about size of 5p which started to spread in a star shape, each crack about 2cm long) was on the passenger side in the top corner. They were not able to repair it as it was to big. Also just noticed that they have let some adhesive spill onto the passenger side pillar and I can't get it off. Anyone know how to get this off, or will I have to wait until it goes back to RAC.
  11. Managed to get some pics, even though it was p*****g down with rain. Hopefully these will show the bit i mean Drivers Side: Passenger Side:
  12. I picked up a bad stone chip on my windscreen a few days ago, so I booked it into RAC autowindscreens to get a replacement screen. I was a bit wary, as it was a new model of car. The car went in today at 11am (they had to to it at their depot as it was so cold) and I picked it up at 4pm, but there was a problem. When they look to windscreen surronds of the car, the clips snapped which means they cannot put them back on. They said, it may have been because it was so cold (never got above 0 all day) or it may just happen when you take them off. They have ordered a new set from Lexus and they will arrive on the 6th (Hopefully). I can still drive the car, but it looks terrible without the windscreen trims. So if you need to get a new windscreen for your IS250, it may be worthwhile advising whoever is doing it, to make sure they have a set of windscreen trims before they start. Hope this info is useful to someone.
  13. If I remember correctly, there is a list of these settings at the back of the manual for the IS250, and the option to only unlock the drivers door and lock doors after driving of was there. As far as i'm concerned, if it is in the manual to get from Lexus GB with a new IS250, then you should be able to take it to your local dealer, and they should change the settings for you. Maybe worthwhile taking the manual with you!
  14. I was told once by a Kwik-fit that they do not advise turning a tyre around on the alloy. They didn't give a reason, and I didn't question it as they could repair the puncture and then swap it for the spare I had on (with a directional tyre on the wrong way round) for free.
  15. My Motorola V3 Razor works fine with the IS250, except that you can only download contacts one by one to the car, and not the whole phonebook.
  16. You can play DVD while driving, but as soon as you take the parking brake off the picture switches off and you can only hear the audio. Great for listenening to live concert DVD's. Don't know what would happen if you loaded a DVD full of MP3's. I assume it will still play them. Will need to give it a go. While on the subject of the DVD system, does anyone know how to overide parking brake safety cut out on the DVD system, as it would be nice for passengers to be able to watch DVD's when driving.
  17. ahhh that would make sense, as the squeak disappeared after the other half had been in the car who must have adjusted the seat belt height
  18. I bet your gutted. I know I would be if that happened to me so soon after getting the car
  19. My squek has now dis-appeared all off its own accord. Very strange
  20. Here you are darren try this Club Lexus forum May work my not, as I have not got mine yet I can't try them. Good luck and let us know if they work. Lee. ← Thanks lee. I will have a look at that document. After further reading of the satnav manual, (its like War & Peace!!) it looks like you can get a list of commands via the on-screen help section.
  21. I took delivery of my IS250 SE NAV yesterday, and noticed a similar squeak coming from the passengers door today while driving with the audio off. Its even more noticable because apert from that the car is so quiet. I will pop into the dealer in the next few days and see it they can sort it out for me. Apart from this very small issue, i absolutely love the car :D Darren PS Has anyone found out a list of commands that can be used for voice commands, as I can't seem to find a list in the manual.
  22. I've just been told by my dealer today (Monday) that IS250 SE Multimedia Brechin Slate, Beige interior has arrived with them and they will call me tomorrow afternoon to let me know when the car will be ready for collection. Hopefully it will be ready for an AM collection on Wednesday, when I have a long drive to do, which will let me test the Sat-Nav out. Roll on Wednesday
  23. Thanks for the replies. Oh well, would have been nice, as the other half is much smaller than me, and would save having to shoehorn myself into the car, when i forget to re-position the seat first
  24. I've just test drove the IS250, and was really impressed. Dealer also told me that deliery of my order would be 1st Dec and not 13th Dec as they told me before So i can't wait for 1st Dec now. The dealer salesperson has now managed to confuse me with regard to the memory seats. I test drove the SE-L but have ordered a SE with Satnav. He said that the SE doesn't have the memory seats, but the lexus.co.uk website says that both the SE and SE-L have the memory seats, with only the base model not getting them. Does anyone know who is correct?
