I have test driven an IS200 ^with dunlops and it was too noisy. my altezza has bridgestones and i can't hear any noise. Maybe the stereo is too loud. They are bridgestone GRIP 11. Cant find them here. going for Toyo proxes next. found a dealer in germany for approx £80.00 fitted.
  2. Hi, My RS 200 Z edition has ceiling mounted "lap dancing clublike" blue light. It has a manual, and door option. If you set it to the "door" option, which will automatically come on when you you open the door or disarm your alarm. They go off after a 20 secs or so. It also has a couple of lights near to the driving mirror, which are basically for searching thru you glove box or when you drop your pound coin when you are approaching the Dartford tunnel.
  3. Hi there, I got a Silver RS 200 Z Edition. Yes they come in black. Mail me and I will pass you on to an importer. I got mine in 8 weeks.

Hi G, it's there son. posted it. How many guys you got so far?
  5. If you're interested stick your name down here, and I'll PM you further details. Hi GriM,Grim, put me name down (yer know I am looking for a FRONT BUMPER already). Supercharged mentioned the HIPPO SLEEK, which is really cool. I was thinking about that one. All I need is a quality one that aint gonna crack in a 10mph shunt. BTW, mine is a 99 ALTEZZA RS200 Z edition (if you need the spec for the bumper). Cheers T

  7. got the same problem with my 99 altezza. posted it here a couple of weeks ago. my no.6 was jammed. i had to press both the load and eject button before it came out. swapped cds and still wooldn,t give in. left it for over a week and miraculously, was able to play it this morning. Got to say the stereo is fantastic though. don,t know if i have the original or not. People can,t believe I haven,t changed it. Probably makes up for the cd jamming.
  8. Boy that's almost the same front bumper I have, except mine pops out a bit more. I will drop ya a mail on monday as I have everything on me PC. Cheers
  9. grim, where can ya get an Altezza Front bumper from. can ya source one here or in japan. just hit someone,s arse last night. the guy was forced to stop after some plonker decided to make a sudden u turn. my front bumper is cracked. it is maked of cardon fibre i think.
  10. True. I Swapped the CDs and it looks like no.6 is knackered. Probably my favourite one always entered the slot last so no.6 took a bit of a pounding and has decided to take a break.
  11. Got the same problem and put it down to engine being cold. First to second ain't bad but when you want to kick down to first, you really have to put it. But i don't experience it when i am completely idle. once I cover up to 10miles, then it's fine. There's always a ***** too when changing from first to second.
  12. Hi, anyone got problems with the Lexus CD changers. Had CD stuck in changer 6 for two days. the damn thing wouldn't play, and wouldn't eject. Ejected the whole lot and that one still wouldn't come out. tried to put the other five in again and it blocked them. finally managed to eject it by pressing both the eject and load button together. Swapped CDs and still no.6 says nah. anyone experiencing these problems.
  13. Hi all, happy new year to ya all. Have to change me back tyres and have just been told that Toyos have a better handling and grip than Michelins, that's why the Michelins last longer than them. Couldn't believe it so I thought I would put it to the panel of experts. What do you guys think. Looking for something with a good grip and handling. I have Bridgestone GRIP 11 and they are fantastic in the dry (ONLY). Advise please Teddy
  14. the snow button cuts some of the power from the car so throttle response is very slow till yer hit the 4000 rpm mark. still slow. it's a big difference if you are used to "getting off the mark" at lights, junction etc. But, and a big but, it wouldn't help much if you are in heavy snow (especially in europe). you just need winter tyres. I have used the button in minus 5 (without snow and on sumeer tyres)and it's been cool. You could feel a bit of a spin but nothing much. But when snow has piled up for days, forget it.
  15. After my warning light comes on I tend to fill up within the next 20-30 miles. I only ever manage to pump 62 litres which leads me to assume the reserve is 2 gallons. Is this true? my tank is 60 Ltrs (that's what it says the altezza has), but i tend to fill when a quarter full. occasionally i let it go to the red light, and still never manage to put in anything more than 52 litres even when i run around for a while on red light. I began to think it was a 55 litre tank. but as marshy said he thinks he has a two gallon reserve, I began to think that the 60ltrs could be true. If that's the case, then that's a massive reserve. My boss has a C Class and he can't do no more than 16 miles when the light comes on. That mean I can manage about 360 miles on a full 60 litre tank. That's ain't bad at all.
  16. hi, anyone knows how I can convert a Pioneer Satnav/ DVD from japanese. Got the screen, remote and everything. A couple of shops have told me to get a new one, but surely they can be tuned from japanese to english?
  17. a diesel Lexus? Let's see what happens. If it's quiet when you fire it up on a cold january morning, then that would comvince me.
  18. the point is, if you are getting a car that you need to go up to 4500 before you get a big of a grunt from the engine, petrol shouldn't be an issue. we do our research before we get the car of our choice. Ofcourse it is expensive, but you can't expect to get comfort, performance, luxury and 30+ MPG for a car under 20 grand? Infact, we are almost getting everything except the MPG. The amount of dosh you save over an equivalent beemer, should far outweigh the extra 3mpg you lose.
  19. my snooper 5 sits on the dash (on a sticky tape) and plugged into the cig lighter. this way you can remove it quickly when stopped by the cops abroad. I have been stopped by the cops in the UK before (not for speeding, but to check the car out I suppose) and didn't bother hiding it as it's legal in the UK.
  20. Where do you live? I just love the idea that 100mph is sensible and 135 is normal driving I average about 31 mpg - mostly m/way at ~80mph lexicon, live in london and work in europe, hence the motor way miles. But come on, I know it sounds mad but when yer driving for a while around 80mph, it becomes so pedestrian, that you want to add 10 mph to it, and so on. And with the cars and mods most guys are displaying here, you really have to look at the speedo to see you are past 70mph cos you don't "feel it". Don't put me foot down in town though (well, with Red Ken's ideas, you can't past 15mph in london). Just love to "stretch" the right foot a bit on motor ways.

hi, You have the the AS200 and the RS200. The AS200 has similar power to IS200 but is all auto. The RS200 is the semi auto 200BHP and the 210 BHP manual. All models have Z editions which is a bit higher spec. The is an L edition as well (on difference is the leather). If power is your thing (list most altezza owners), then go for the altezza. Difference bewteen the Z edition RS200 Manual and UK IS200 Sport is; the RS Z edition has no leather, no heated seats, most don't have a sunroof, but can rev up to 8000 RPM, has nearly 60 BHP more, most come with spoilers, TV and sat nav. choice is yours.
  22. Which snooper model have you got? I have a Snooper S5 - This advises to use a mode called "logic 3" in the UK and this filters out most of the unwanted alarms. It works fine for me. Probably get 500+ yards notice on most Gatso cameras. Useless on the new"digital" type of Cameras though - as a few of the other replies have mentioned these are not detected. Snooper has just released an S6 - which also combines the GPS info. I have had this in my last car for a year and it worked fine. Only had my IS200 for a week and I have not found the best location for it yet. If I have it too low the wipers are in the way and I only get 20 - 30 yards notice. Put it up near the rear view mirror and it is much better. hi all, big cheers for all the replies. My snooper is the S5 and big cheers to Risky and Claire G for the calibration tip. will check on that. Those who do a lot of driving in main land Europe, it is very risky using that sort of thing. My snooper sits on my dash but when in europe i am extra careful. The French and the Belgain cops are the worst. These guys don't listen to any thing you have to say. It,s either you car, or a heavy fine. You are an easy target if you have a foreign plate. Vince-com, where do you hide your detector when driving in France. Got done once in Belguim for doing 82mph instead of 75mph. Had to fork out 170 quid for that. And the annoying thing is I was in the slow lane and these didn,t bother to stop any of those in the fast lane. Was followed on a bit, was then signalled to follw the cop, turned off at the next junction, then went the opposite direction till the next jucntion, then back to where they were hiding. That made me buy the snooper and still got done in the UK.
  23. i have an altezza and as you know it has a much smaller tank. if i drive "sensibly" (ie 100 mph) on the M way, I can do up over 300 miles to that tank, using 98 RON unleaded. When I average over 135MPH, i can manage 280 miles before the red light comes on. I used 95 RON once and manged to get 250 miles with 3/4 of a tank, driving at 120 - 135 mph. But the downside is, it is shocking around town. would be lucky to get anzthing round 280 miles.
  24. Do these these things do the job they are supposed to do? Or are they as accurate as advertised in car mags? I have a Snooper and have just been sent a letter by the OB for speeding on the M20. Never saw any flash, nothing. Don't ask me how it happended but this stuff beeps at everything. I have changed the settings but it still beeps at traffic lights. Even when it get to fixed cameras, it only beeps when I am literally 20 yards. The bloody thing sits on the dash so it's got a clear view. Anyone experiencing this? I was persuaded to go for the top end Snooper cos it could give me a 400 yards warning when approaching a camera, blah blah blah. Total crap. Which one is the best / most accurate out there? Morpheus Geodesy, Beltronics? Teddy
