    Get an offcut of some nice nursery print fabric and just pop it under the seat - that's what I did. I still have the back seat completely covered with a knights-on-horseback print now he's 10. The upholstery underneath is immaculate, but the floor - now that's another matter entirely.......

    Couldn't find any paint-on lacquer - is spray stuff ok? It's high temp (450degrees) clear lacquer. Thanks

    No, no no no no no no.......... Baking soda is for getting smells out of your carpet and upholstery. For hard surface cleaning you use a weak solution of malt vinegar and washing up liquid. Strips off old polish and returns it to being matt, Matt :P :D

    Don't get me wrong - I enjoy being spoiled as much as the next girl, but if he does it just because it's "that day" be it anniversary, birthday or valentines it doesn't mean as much as if he say, came home from work an hour early and cooked dinner - beans on toast would do (and washed up afterwards, that would be nice, but hey - lets not push it!!) It's the thought that counts, not the cost!!!

    Speaking personally it's just another day - if you love someone you can show them in 100 little ways through the year by things you say and do.

    Have an Audi 2.4 (manual, 5 speed) and an IS200SE - never driven a Sport. Between these two there is no contest - the IS every time. More fun to drive, more toys inside, and as Ricky says, the inside of the Audi is just sooooo dull - and the Lexus is a more eye-catching vehicle. Organise a test drive in both - you won't have to persuade her.

    All I would add - having had a couple of write-offs myself (NOT due to my driving - one stolen / recovered, and one hit by someone who ran a red light) is: don't accept the Insurance company's first offer. If you have servicing receipts and repair / replacement invoices then you can negotiate. I have twice received more than the top book price because the vehicle had been very well looked after.
