  1. I'll ask my mate for you, I assume its a top loader??
  2. Pull the air vents out then pull the plastic piece which holds the traction control/ heated seat switches. You'll see two ten mill bolts on top and two ten mill bolts on the bottom, Remove them and carefully pull out the unit with the heater controls, Pull out the wiring at the back of the heater controls and then pull the wiring out the back of the stereo, Remove the whole unit, be careful not to scratch the dash when removing. Once you have removed the full units, remove three of the 8 mill bolts from either side of the stereo. Then the stereo will be off.
  3. I can certanly ask for you mate, I'll let you know in a few days, I assume its a top loader?
  4. Alright mate, If the water leak is above the water pump, then I'd say the leak is the by pass pipe above the pump. Its only a small alluminum pipe with two O rings at either end, the rings crystallizes and cause a leak. Its really common according to the head mechanic in Bolton. This happened to mine, the part was only 17 pounds.
  5. I use the maguires Canuba Wax, It great stuff. Would recommend!!!!!!!
  6. I went for the s spec, wanted an se really but i have no regrets with it, its still a great car So, if you could go back in time to the day when you handed over your cash for the S (knowing what you know now) would you have put your money back in your pocket and held out for the right SE? White's growing on me. I dithered about the car I'm buying for several days before taking the plunge because I wasn’t certain about the colour. And you can’t change your yet, you’ve only had it a little while!I see that Mr ivanovoitch has now added the text to his otherwise almost blank post and is asking an intelligent question. This counts me out of the debate. Colours I can cope with, the finer points of Lexus choices are still beyond me! Thats what hitting the enter button does when you're reaching for a beer instead of paying attention to what you're meant to be doing. Doh! (The beers good though, so I don't have many regrets!) Not what so ever, I had a few probs with the car but now they are sorted its a dream to drive. Like I said, I have no regrets
  7. Ian you have a point, they look amazing in white. mmmm may change mine now! I went for the s spec, wanted an se really but i have no regrets with it, its still a great car
  8. Hey there, I'd agree go for silver
  9. Alright mate Welcome the club. Its a very very nice looking lexus, You must be really pleased. Its one of the best ones i've seen in white!!!!. shak
  10. I might start using copy cd's then (cd-r), mines a top loader and it seems that you guys don't have a problem with the top loader stereos.
  11. aright jamie, yep its still great here, very sunny too!!!!. Only been here for five years, was originally from Milton Keynes.
  12. :winky: congrats mate. Should have years of good motoring!!!!
  13. Alright there people, Just got back my lexus stereo from repair after two weeks. Some one i know who works in a radio repair place use to work at the garage I work in. He took it away and said he'd give it a go, came back today and its working perfectly. ONLY COST 80 quid!!!!!!!!. I was really chuffed!!!, Gave him an extra twenty for his efforts, He saved me two hundred quid!!!
  14. Alright mate CONGRATS on your new car, should be very happy with it. Wouldn't worry about the voltage reading, mines about the same and i've done about 3000 miles since i brought it and she's never gone flat. I connected a volt meter to the battery to see what voltage the alternator was charging and it showed more then the gauge in the car, I don't think the gauge is very accurate really. So you should be alright Where about in Milton Keynes are you, I use to live there Shak
  15. Well I think i might do the same thing, I don't think it is worth risking really. Thanks for your help
  16. Yeh i thought that, I was doing some google-ing recently about copy cd's and i read that some players don't like copy's and may cause the player to jam. Its a bit worrying considering the lexus players don't seem to be very reliable. mmm
  17. Does any one know if the lexus oem stereo plays copy cd's, mine one has gone for repair but i don't want to try it when i get it back just in case it causes problems.
  18. :winky: Thats very nice mate, feel quite envious
  19. Thats definitely a new one!!!! I almost had go and check to see if i had one
  20. Thanks to you all, seems like a really nice community here. Should be able to enjoy some good motoring now. It is a shame that i missed the Bolton Meet on sunday, it was only round the corner from me. Look forward to meeting up with all soon. :)
  21. Alright there every one. Got my lexus a couple of months ago (is200 s on a xreg with 80000 miles with full Lexus service history) and was really happy when i picked it up, but within a week i noticed a few problems. Luckely being a vehicle technician and quiet friendly with the head mechanic at lexus Bolton (Neil), I'm getting through the problems. First Job i did was the timing belt and tensioner, which was a good thing because there was a chunk missing out of it, also found the water pump was leaking and the by pass hose was leaking which is situated above the water pump, I replaced them, flushed the water system and renewed the anti freeze, every thing was fine untill i checked my water level a few days later, it lost a litre!, topped it up and it lost anothere litre a few days later, I gave it a good check and a found the radiator was leaking, so replaced the radiator and now its seems to be good. Now we've got this warm weather i decided to use the air con, to my shock, it wasn't working, checked it and found the aircon rad was shot, so i've replaced that this week and that seems to be working fine now. Oh yeh one last thing the cd player stopped working, but luckely the guy we use at the garage i work for has repaired a few of these cd players, so he has it for repair, so no stereo for a couple of weeks!!!!. But after all this i absolutly love the car, very quiet, very smooth and alot quicker then my old car, i use drive a Merc C class 1.8 very boring and slow!!!!. I will post some pics of my pride a joy soon.
