  1. I've currently got the 16" OE alloys that come with the S model. I was going to sell mine and get a SE spec IS, but mines is in immaculate condition and I won't get much for it, so I decided to just upgrade mine. I Think its a wise decision
  2. Hi all I was wondering if any one could help me, I am looking for a set of black half leather seats and standard 17" alloys for my IS200, there doesn't seem to be much on Ebay. So was wondering if any one here has done some upgrades on there car and are willing to sell the original parts. Thank you shak
  3. Alright mate I used these guys when mine went, brand new with warranty. I have had on for 3 month now and had no problems Northern radiator group Well recommended, only cost £130
  4. Alright mate, I brought my car at 80k with full lexus service history and my cam belt had a chunk out of it, and had to put on a new radiator, AC radiator, Water pump, a by pass hose and get the cd player repaired!! then I had to do a full service on it. I would say having a stamp missing probably didn't cause the problems you've had with the lexus. You're probably right, but the frustrating thing is, the previous owner had somehow got the service book stamped by a garage, without the garage knowing, or having anything done, so when i bought it, the owner claimed it had full service history. so the stamp that was missing happens to be a fairly pricey service. all other services/stamps however were fine, all done correctly. the car has cost me alot, for £6k, i could have got a decent 02 plate IS and not an old 99 T. I guess i just need to hang onto it for about a year, then i can get rid of it and get a brand spanking new company car :D C200 Kompressor Coupé :) Yeh i suppose so, I thought that too after all the work I've done on mine, but I could of spent 6k on a 52reg and still had to spend more cash on it. At least you know the car is right now and there should be no more worries. :)

  6. Alright mate, Mine did the same thing its really common. Is it the top loader?, if so I know some one who can repair them. Its was much cheaper then using lexus.
  7. Try this Northern radiator group I used them when my radiator went (is 200). Brand new and delivered with warranty!!
  8. Alright mate, I wouldn't use a rad weld really, we have had a few cars come into the garage where the customer used rad weld, it ended up seizing the water pump after a few months and slipping the timing belt, but some people have used it and its been alright. Personally I wouldn't recommend it. I used these guys when my radiator went, It only cost £150 including delivery Northern radiator group The unit was brand new and comes with warranty, only took 2 days for delivery.
  9. Welcome mate, Sounds a good car. No need to worry about the millage, theres plenty left. I saw a couple in the autotrader with over 240000 miles!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. Alright mate, It could be a number of things. The most common fault is the by pass pipe above the water pump its only a small pipe, with to rubber O rings on either end, they tend to leak from there. Also Check the top and bottom radiator hoses. If you had a water pump at 53k, I would be very surprised if it leaked again after 30k. If all these are ok then the only thing I'd say it could be is the rad.
  11. Alright mate, my power steering did the exact same thing, Just needed a new belt on, its perfect now!!. The old belt looked fine but it was harder due to age, so it slipped when you first started the car up in the morning especially when it was cold.
  12. Alight mate, The service may seem cheap but its well known in the motor trade that they will say you need extra parts eg brake pads, tyres, suspension items when there is actually nothing wrong with them!!!. SO IT TURNS OUT TO BE EXPENSIVE. One of my mates took a Astra to one of these Nationwide car centers to get his tracking done, he phones me up saying that they have checked the car over and it needs 350 pounds worth of parts (brakes, tyres and some suspension components), I told him to bring the car straight to the garage I work for and I'l Check it, I checked the items which needed replacing and there was nothing wrong with them at all!! SO BEWARE!!!!.
  13. Alright mate, 70 Pounds labour sounds about right, Its only a couple of hours of a job, I work in a garage and I did my own, I was surprised how easy i was. Lexus are a bit of a rip off I think. To do the belt I had to remove the radiator so make sure they add some fresh anti-freeze in. PS I did my belt at 80000 miles and there was a big chunk missing out of the belt, its worth doing early
  14. Thanks people, glad you like it as much as I do. mmm mods?, I think the only thing i'm thinking about is some 17" wheels, but i'm concerned about how hard it will make the ride, I had a Primera a few years ago which drove really smooth, I decided to by some 17" wheels for it, the car was really hard on the road and I could feel every bump which I didn't enjoy but they looked good. So still not sure what to do. (some times I sound like a 62 year old instead of 26!!!)
  15. Alright mate, To do the water pump the timing belt needs to be taken off, because half the pump is under the belt, they should replace the belt if they are removing it (make sure to ask), so the job is more labpur then parts. I changed my water pump when I replaced the timing belt.
  16. Pics are now up, Thanks to some help from Ian
  17. Pictures of my Lexus which I thought I would Share Thanks for your help Ian
  18. Alright mate, Sounds like your brake disc's are warped, Quite common
  19. Alright mate, the noise you are describing sounds like a wheel bearing, (If it sounds like a hum/whining). Usually they don't need replacing until they make noise around 30mph, so there is still a bit of life left in it, also it will be easier to tell once its more worn.
  20. I probably won't be cheap to repair, but then again nor will it be cheap to replace. I think Autosounds in Bradford would be a good starting point, I am pretty sure they are the UK repair agents for Lexus, but please dont quote me Alright daz, Just had a word with my mate and he said he'll repair your stereo if it is a top loader. Let me know mate
  21. The bottom loader cd changer is totally different to the top loader. The bloke who did mine said that he has looked at he bottom loader decks and he says he would not touch them for repair apparently it is allot more complicated and the parts are harder to get hold of.
  22. B) Very nice car and very rare, not seen one in my area!!!!!!!
