  1. I Would say its expensive but you get that important Lexus stamp in you service history, also the MOT is quite expensive, I'm a tester and we only charge £30, but I suppose its more convenient to have it done in one go. We would probably charge around £80-£90 all in!, but like I said before you won't have that Lexus stamp, when when I was looking for an IS200 I wanted one with full Lexus history even though I'm in the trade (that says it all!!). With the low mileage and age of your car I would pay the extra for the service so you carry on the Lexus history but may be have it MOT'd some where else. Hope this helps shak
  2. Alright every one, I don't mean to Bore you!!! But I've ordered a sports mesh grill for my is200 which should arrive today but I have been looking at IS200 Sports on the autotrader and none of them have the mesh grill, they have the same grill as the one that came on my S model, so I was wondering if it was ever standard on the sport or was it an upgrade option?? Thanks shak
  3. Thanks for all your replies, just phoned lexus dealer and got one on order, all painted and with badges £30 plus vat, would never of thought that dealer would be so cheap!!! Thanks again shak
  4. Alright Everyone, I've seen this IS200 sports grill in ebay and it looks really good but I was wondering if anyone has brought one from this guy and if so is it really genuine or a really good copy and also does it fit well?????? Sports grill link Thanks :duh:
  5. That makes more sense, its just that you said straightening up the wheel i assumed you meant road wheels not steering wheel, but any way glad you found what you were looking for!!, but Whiteman and Wheels In Motion are right, this is not a permanent solution but I suppose it will be less annoying, now that the steering wheel is straight
  6. ????????, what do you mean???????? I guess your not a mechanic or you'd know what I mean, i'm looking for the best universal joint to remove & adjust Actually mate, I've been a vehicle technician for 7 years now, I've never known anyone to remove a uni joint to adjust the tracking, it doesn't happen that way!!!!!!, Its the trackrod ends that need to be adjusted and you can't do it your self properly, you will end up making it worse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. ????????, what do you mean????????
  8. I can't ever remember seeing a three bar grill before, has anyone got a pic of one of these grills??????????
  9. mmmm, that does look nice in silver, better then I thought, I saw this one on ebay, just wondered if anyone has brought from this person, and if you think the grill looks ok???? Linky
  10. Did have a look at the sports grill, can't make up my mind if I like the look of it, may have a second look at one
  11. Yeh I'm thinking the car may have been tracked before you brought the car with the old tyres (I assume the old tyres were warn on the inside edge?), if so it will pull the tracking out with new tyres
  12. Thats a good question, not sure what I want to do on it next, don't wanna go OTT on it and spoil it, but I am think of putting some ambient lighting in the foot wells when the doors are opened nothing to bright!!!, other then that, not allot I can think of unless you guys have some good Ideas???!.
  13. Alright mate The first thing I would do is check the tyre pressures if they are ok then I would get it tracked, how long have you had the car for???
  14. The spoiler is a TTE lip spoiler, purchased from ebay, not seen any tte ones recently but there are other spoilers available which look the same. shak
  15. Yeh pleased with the money I spent, the old wheels did look awful and they were corroding quite badly too!!!!
  16. Yeh mate it comes in two pieces, don't have a part number but I just walked into Nissan and explained what I needed, I use to have a Nissan Primera and the mats had the same centre clip, so I just told them what car it was for. (nissan Primera 1998 model) shak
  17. Alright mate, I changed the parcel shelf because the S model only has plain black speaker cover which sits quite flat on the parcel shelf, the new shelf has a raised section on it with lexus written on the back of the speaker covers. The Central mat clip isn't standard, I put it on my self because my mat use to creep up, use to really annoy me, I got the clip from Nissan and a I cut a circular hole in the mat so the I could fit the clip in. The mat doesn't move now!!!. Shak
  18. Alright everyone, been quite busy in the last 3-4 weeks upgrading my IS, I was going to sell it and was choosing between a Jag, BMW or IS200 SE, But after a couple of months searching for a car I couldn't find any thing that I really liked so I decided to keep mine and spend some money upgrading it. I've managed to get every thing I wanted to do on it. Its had new Wheels (thanks to DJ Wozza), Half Leather Seats with grey piping, electric and heated all fully functioning (in almost new condition!!!), Lowered all round, New door cards and new parcel shelf!! and allot of man hours from me doing the upgrade. All cost £600 in total which I think is a bargain!!!, I'm very pleased with it and I'm really happy I didn't sell it!!!!!!!!! I've put some before and after pics to compare Before After Shak
  19. Alright mate I've got a similar problem with my IS and was quite worried about it so I decided to go to lexus and test drive a couple of the cars (pretending to buy one), one had 40000 miles and the other had 32000 miles and they sounded exactly the same, whining in 2nd and slightly on 3rd gears. A mate of mine has brought an IS200 on a 02 plate with approx 40000 miles on it his one is exactly the same, so I decided not to worry about it. I've had the car for a year now and it hasn't got any louder!!!! shak
  20. Alright there every one. As you might know I've put in half leather seats in my IS200 s, I managed to wire in the electric seat with know problem but wasn't sure about the heated seats. Fortunately thanks to sparkystav, I got a wiring diagram and wired up my seats last night. Being a cold morning this morning I put them on and they WORKED!!!!, I was really pleased.. Its was quite an easy wiring job as half the wiring is already there (wires to the switch). I've also got a question slightly off topic, my passenger seat is manual, when you open the passenger door and look at the seat side on there is a gap between the seat and plastic trim, which means you can see straight on to the carpet, is this normal or is there a trim missing???? Thanks Shak
  21. Thanks mate, should come in useful, looking at the diagram there doesn't seem to be a relay or control unit, it looks like it wires directly to the switch, mmm very odd
  22. The wiring diagram is not very clear, wondering if anyone could email me a clearer version please?? smshivji@yahoo.com
  23. Alright there every one, I've had a really busy weekend, got my half leather seats with grey piping delivered from Scotland!!, look great but the bloke never told me it didn't come with the air bags, was really annoyed, toko me three hours to dismantle my original seats, new seats and then swap the air bags over but got it sorted, wired up the electric seats and all seems to be working fine. My question is, has any one wired up the heated seats to a is200 s model, is there a control unit or relay that needs to be used????, I've got the switches but wasn't sure if to wire them up directly to the seats, as I don't quite know what controls the heated seats. There is 2 wires on the passenger side for the heated seat and one on the drivers side, i'm assuming the earth for the heated seat on the drivers side is used with the electric seat. There are no spare connectors under the seat, so i'll have to wire it up my self. Any help would be appreciated!!! Thanks shak
  24. Alright every one!!! I've got a lexus IS200 s and I've recently purchased a set of 17" wheels for it which look great. But now when I look at the my car side on, the back seems to look quiet high, so I thought I would get some IS200 sport springs put on. I phoned Lexus Bolton and they told me that they only list one type spring for the IS and the lowered sport springs which came standard on IS sport were discontinued. I found that very weird. He also told me that the lowered springs were only optional on the sport not standard. mmmm. So I then decided to phone up a the head technician in Lexus Bolton (Wgho I know) and told me the same thing. He said that the IS S and SE had the same springs and so did the sport unless the lowered package was fitted. I looked at some IS SE yesterday and they look lower at back to me. So could some one who has a SE standard car measure from the centre of the wheel to the wheel arch and let me know what measurements you get. Also has any one got any standard sport springs for sale? thanks shak
  25. Thanks mate, managed to get some wheels off DJ Wozza (lexus owners club member) look great!. But really struggling to find some decent half leather seats in black, would really appreciate if you could get us a price for the leather on the car you are going to see, and could you tell me what condition they are in. Thanks for help shak
