@Wood Butcher Admire your choice yes she was mine.....😊

If you require any info just pm me......the callipers are not painted but are genuine Lexus Gsf Orange ones.... there was a paint issue with the original callipers and I put in a warranty claim for this.....

Still prefer the brembo Yellow :wink3:....looks like my post was taken slightly too literally, should really have given the end result. What's the latest steed, last I saw it was Aston ?

We are moving in the next year and the cold start noise is probably what worries me most with new neighbours.

Having said that my borla’d boxster is really noisy for the first 20 seconds and no one has ever voiced a negative comment or complaint.

Has anyone ever had a properly grumpy neighbour with a real beef about noise?

We live in a cul de sac. The boy racer at the top has a Honda with a farty exhaust. He leaves for work at 6.45am and you can set your clock by it. Talking to neighbours there is a massive amount of underlying friction. We have a few retired folk and a couple of cancer sufferers who've been through the mill. Something must have been said as he clearly coasts down the cul de sac in neutral before flooring it around the corner.

If it were leased or PCP, he would have been able to return it without all the fuss. In fact, that is kind of the point of leasing - the flexibility.

The fact that he is publicly disclosing his intention on taking them to court makes it seem like he may have just bought it outright, hence being "stuck" with it.

I guess he would have to take it up with the finance company under those circumstances but they would insist the repairs were addressed first. If he did actually pay cash then agree what a fool, not because it was an Audi, more so brand new tech... I notice buried in the comments of one of the videos he's been promised a full refund but more importantly most of the issues have been ironed out with the later edition.

There's just no fooling you, is there?  😉

Haha. After reading the issues with Tesla, I'm not going near an EV until I'm forced to. :wink3:

He does actually comment on the problems of charging stations etc and the difficulty he encountered on a long trip (first vid of his) where he was proudly wearing his Audi 100 % electric shirt. I found that more interesting than his car leaking to be fair (not the shirt) New cars have faults, some manufacturers do better than others as we all know.

    You seem easily pleased Doog.

I must say if I`d spent 100,000 plus euros on  a vehicle and still had outstanding issues after 12 months I`d have gone ballistic.

Anyway, a fool and his money......................................

Its probably leased or on a PCP...no one in their right mind actually spends 100,000 euro on a new Audi SUV EV outright. No one buys a Lexus outright at that price either (awaits random LC 500 owner with a dodgy petrol cap to pop up)

He has a warranty so it will be sorted and he'll probably chop it in when the latest fad motor pops up at the end of his deal.

Its a shame we didn't hear about the electrical performance, I mean that was surely the whole point of the thread (and indeed the vehicle ) unless of course it was the usual German bashing.

  5. Coincidence as I saw one of these plugged in today.

So he had no moans about the electrical ability of the car . Paint, virtual mirrors, suspension leg ? , roof antenna and a leak.

The only thing related to its electrical prowess was the plastic cover covering the storage bay for the lead was apparently cheap and a problem with what side the car was charged on, so hardly deal breakers.

I would rather have heard about its ability as an electric vehicle, the rest just seem normal new model car moans that I'm sure will be addressed.

Agreed it’s lower spec, although my favourite colour.

The bigger screen must have been standard by that time.

It looks like another economy measure was to replace some of the leather with alcantara (I.e fake suede).

On the other hand do you really need the things in the bigger spec cars, mostly you don’t in my experience.

For example,I like sun roofs and heated steering wheels but can happily live without them.I also had ventilated seats on the IS 250 I had years ago and recall they were rather ineffective.

Yep, very odd with the alcantara . The issue is I'm fully specced up in a 2018 lovely straight six with hardly any miles on it, owned from new and it goes like stink.

I accept I might have to compromise :whistling: but RCF pricing is all over the shop. I buy that car and suddenly I'm looking at an 8k loss immediately if I need to get rid. I could stomach that brand new but not on a low spec 18 plate whereas an M4 / M2 would be far more palatable. I tend to change cars every couple of years and there's another guy on here with a 2017 who seems stuck in perpetuity. I guess its a keeper but ain't a mover.

Facelift MY2018 have improvements but some of the spec is lowered to get to a cheaper list price (cheaper wheels, lack of key card, no ventilated seats, no blind spot mirror or rear traffic alert etc.) and the engine has a particulate filter which robs the engine of 14 bhp at peak and more across the rev range 😞

Apologies for bumping the thread but my guess is this is one of the lower spec versions. It almost appears poverty spec. no ML either. Shame as I made a quick enquiry, screen looks bigger than 7 inch however.

OMG..  cyclist apologists... this point of view is so convenient for politicians, they are so glad that majority of people are so easily manipulated like you, because why improve roads, why develop infrastructure when you can simply feed people with bu****t, grass, put them on bicycles and let them rip each-other to pieces. Motorists frankly hates cyclist, because roads are not fit for purpose and on top of all issues you still have to babysit grown up man just in case they ride right into your car. Cyclists hates motorists because they are apparently planet saviours and feel entitled to... and nobody have time to step back and realise one thing - we all just need better infrastructure, better roads and less BS and broken promises!

    This guy :toast:

You win the Internet Linas....again. We're not apologists...we're cyclists. :wink3:

Every one of us who cycles to work ensures that you'll get there in your smartly dressed Primarni suit a nano second quicker...you should rejoice.

Whoo, what can I say, with logic like that there is actually nothing to say.

Its like going back to the dark ages isn't it ? The future is public transport  and cycling (taking EV's out of the equation for the minute) Both have the lowest carbon footprint. I commuted for years by bicycle (and often wore a suit at the other end). We will never catch up with the Netherlands but can follow Germany, Belgium and Denmark for example who have made massive inroads. I've cycled extensively throughout Europe and the cycling commuting culture is huge and perfectly normal so we're playing catch up constantly.

🤣 too late im afraid 🤣

    Yes its the new one.

Sub 5 seconds to 62 mph, 300 horses from a 4 pot, a vastly superior infotainment system, quite practical to boot plus add on your monthly savings ....loads of redeeming features in my book...sorry I forgot it has the' badge of doom '...:wink3:

Is that the beastie up for sale in Harrogate I see ? Best of luck with the new motor.

It did, but I hoped I'd be offered more by the dealer 😄

At least its not negative equity. But being bid 22k by other dealers i find quite distasteful.

The car is worth 10k more 🤬

I've kind of set my heart on the Fk8 Type R, (best performance compromise) but will probably end up with something much cheaper.

Lexus dealers will usually rob you blind. Worth selling privately ? or get a base price from someone like Wizzle.

A few15 plates in the late 20's from dealers have stalled lately, a 16 might have better luck.

Personally I think prices are all over the shop at the moment, to the point I just won't entertain moving on as a cash buyer.

Not overly keen on audi / BMW, Golf R and GTi just don't do anything for me.

    All ideas welcome.

I was the same about BMW so avoided them for 35 years. Seriously you won't get better bang for your buck at the price level. Do a back to back between a six pot 240i and a GT86 and there's no comparison, notwithstanding Toyota are now sticking that same BMW engine in the Supra. That said I respect your opinion and I still feel the same way about Audi.

ps...how much for the F ? Its actually a decent time to sell, used prices are strong everywhere.

SUVs are more comfortable for a lot of people. I’ve mostly had sports saloons in my life with quite a few hot hatchbacks in my twenties. I’ve had three SUVs now - a V8 X5 in 2007-2008, an NX300 in 2017-2018 and another NX300 for the last 4 months. I’m older now (57) and I care less about handling and roadholding and much more about comfort and retirement. I have no ailments or mobility issues but my days of getting down into a low slung sports saloon are gone now. With the ever increasing move to larger wheels and ultra low profile tyres they just feel uncomfortable to me and round where I live the roads make them horrible to drive. I occasionally still drive my wife’s Mini Cooper for a bit of fun but an SUV better fits my life in lots of ways.

Age wise, we're probably not that far apart. I've had back operations and the lure of an SUV is there in that respect but no further I guess but I absolutely understand the reasons. The daft thing is that I can get my golf clubs and electric golf trolley into an IS but for the life of me without lowering seats or some kind of jiggery pokery an NX or UX is just too narrow.

So  I'm with Linas. I really think Lexus missed a trick by not bringing the RC 350 to the UK ...that said we've agreed on this matter since time began.

  14. 3 hours ago, paulrnx said:

I’ve spoken to two dealerships recently and they both said well over 70% of their sales were SUVs. One said if they could get hold of more SUVs they’d sell even more. If you want to stick to a compact sports saloon or coupe then it would appear that you have to jump ship to another marque. In the UK at least.

I've done this twice  since 2014. I jumped from an IS200 to a 135i as the IS250 was literally 'dead weight' and such a wasted opportunity, came back for the IS200t (Linas will tell you about them :wink3: ) then left again for another six pot bimmer. I'm only hanging around as I've been looking at getting on the RCF bandwagon ....oh yeah and its a decent forum.

My dealer has a line of IS's and RC 300H's literally gathering dust (or seagull crap). I know we've had a couple of lockdowns but these cars have been stationary for nearly a year whilst they slowly inch the prices down.  It seems one car becomes the demo, then a new demo rocks up and its just full of demos that no one is buying.

The SUV thing is just daft. Have you seen the room in the boot of a UX, a complete joke.
