  1. I think you might be right Don - a shortage of car transporter drivers. Might explain why my NX has been stuck at Derby for 2 weeks. My dealer says that they are expecting to receive it on Monday so fingers crossed.
  2. Yeah, I feel your pain. So frustrating. I ordered mine on the 1st September and will hopefully be collecting it next week.
  3. I think that date is likely to slip unfortunately. From my experience with my order, even if your order was to change to "Build in progress" today you're still looking at another couple of months at least for delivery, maybe longer. And that's if everything goes smoothly.
  4. I put a deposit down for one on the 1st September but the build of it didn't start until 4th December.
  5. A ship containing my NX (and I would assume a few more) docked at Southampton on the 7th January. If I do indeed get my car by the 5th February (as forecast) it would have taken almost as long to get to me from Southampton as it did to come across from Japan 😕
  6. I spoke to my dealer yesterday to get an update on my order and was told that they aren't expecting to get any demonstrators until sometime in February. On a more positive note, they are expecting my car to be ready for me to collect in the first week of February.
  7. @pawex If you are sure that the email address is the same between the app and that held under the order then please note the following... The status of new orders on the app is found via the "My Garage" section - this can be accessed by selecting the icon found on the top right of the app's Home screen (looks a bit like a house); then select the "Purchased" tab. Alternatively you can also check the status of any order via the following website so it might be worth checking there also. https://www.lexus.co.uk/my-lexus/ Hope this helps.
  8. And they say that cars are bad for the planet 😀 https://www.autoevolution.com/news/lexus-nx-is-a-crucial-vehicle-in-saving-the-world-in-space-epic-movie-moonfall-179179.html https://www.lexus.com/moonfall https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FaTLlimUrL0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ivIwdQBlS10
  9. That's good news @zanderblue Looks like you could be one of the very first to own the new NX in the UK. Hopefully I won't be too far behind - Lexus Link app stills shows mine at Portbury.
  10. There is an ongoing thread on the US Lexus owners club site pertaining to these potential teething problems:- https://www.clublexus.com/forums/nx-2nd-gen-2022-current/978679-2022-nx-2nd-generation-1st-year-problems.html I'm following this with interest but not overly concerned yet.
  11. I'm guessing that the 17 days wait time wasn't helped by the Christmas and New Year holiday period. I had an email from Lexus this morning stating that my 2022 NX had arrived in the UK and was now at the "In transit" stage (i.e. on to the way to my dealer via Derby). I pretty much knew this already as I had been following it's journey from Japan by boat via the marinetraffic.com website and app (it was quite interesting following it - if you like that kind of thing 😀). The journey took 4 and a half weeks in total and stopped at Singapore and Livorno (Italy) before finally arriving in the UK (at Southampton in fact, rather than Portbury). Will be interesting to see how long it takes Lexus UK to get the car ready for collection. I'm thinking 3 weeks, worst case scenario 🙏
  12. Given the intervening Christmas and New Year holiday season (as you have alluded to) and possible staff absences due to COVID, I think it's a bit optimistic to have the car prepared and registered in that time. But, as you say, no harm in chasing them up next week. From what I gather, the ship transporting my car arrived in the UK last night (although it docked at Southampton and not Bristol for some reason) but even so I'm not expecting Lexus UK to have it ready for collection until the end of the month. Anything sooner than that wiill be a bonus. I too have read some reports from early buyers in the US of problems with the alarm going off randomly and other minor issues but I'm not too concerned about this at this stage.
  13. I see that they also do a "suction cup" add-on - which would be an alternative if the magnetic version isn't suitable. https://doordefender.net/door-defender-suction/
  14. I am very careful where I park my car when using multi-storey car parks; supermarket car parks; etc. but as a last resort I use the following product which gives me a bit more peace of mind when parking up and walking away:- https://doordefender.net/ They are very quick and simple to place on the car and don't take up too much room in the boot. They attach with magnets so probably best to test that the door is magnetic before considering buying a pair.
  15. I hope so. Based on the price list referenced above, my NX has gone up by £1,500. Coincidentally, I received a marketing email from my local dealer yesterday saying that "Lexus will be applying a price increase to All-New NX and New ES next year from 1st January 2022." and "Please ensure you do not miss out on the price protection by placing your order with us as soon as you can." So maybe the prices listed in the new brochure won't be applied until then (and for new orders only).
  16. It does seem a bit too good to be true but I will give them the benefit of the doubt. Fingers crossed that you hear something positive soon on your order.
  17. I had another email from Lexus this morning to say that the car has now been built and has left the factory. This has been confirmed by the salesperson at my dealers. I've asked them to inform me of the name of the ship it will be coming across on so that I can track it's progress. ETA is the end of January so fingers crossed for that.
  18. I received an email from Lexus this morning to say that my order has changed to "Build in progress" which is encouraging news. The Lexus Link app and the MyLexus website both reflect this. Does anyone on here know how long it typically takes for a build to complete and for the order to move to the next stage?
  19. It works fine when charging - although the phone can get quite warm.
  20. It can drain the battery Herbie, you're right. On the occasions that I may be concerned about battery life when on a (longer than usual) drive, I drop the phone onto the wireless charger in the centre console which manages to put back what wireless AA takes out. It's still more convenient IMHO than having to plug the phone in every time.
  21. I have been really pleased with it - works every time. It's still early days with the project so there are some teething problems with it still, especially around supply and demand. I believe there is currently quite a backlog of orders so that it can take months to get your hands on one. Also due to the infinite combination of phones and head-units that the device needs to be compatible with, some buyers are reporting technical issues. But, with my Samsung phone and Lexus head-unit, it has been flawless for me. By the way, if my recently-ordered 2022 NX does indeed have wireless AA capability (I have seen contradictory reports of this online), I may be looking to sell my AAWireless device so watch this space 😉
  22. Bluetooth doesn't have the necessary bandwidth strength to transfer the large amounts of data (navigation data; streaming music; etc.) between the phone and the car's head-unit for Apple CarPlay (AC) or Android Auto (AA) to work. Therefore, unless the head-unit has wireless AC or AA capability (which currently Lexus head-units do not have*) you have to plug the phone into the car's USB port using a charging cable (that also has data-transfer capability), which can be a bit of a pain every time you get in the car. As @Mincey has quite rightly said, there are wireless adaptors that provide wireless capability for AC and AA - the adaptor itself plugs into the USB port and the phone connects to the adaptor wirelessly, thus negating the need to plug in the phone. One such device that I believe has been popular for members of this site that use AC is CPLAY2air - https://cplay2air.com/ For AA, I use AAWireless - https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/aawireless#/ (caveat - this is currently a "crowd funded" enterprise, but I have been using the device for a long time without any problems) * with the new 2022 NX, Lexus are starting to introduce wireless AC and AA capable head-units. Hope this helps.
  23. Thanks again Ivan. That date is very similar to mine. It will be interesting to see if we both take delivery of our shiny new NXs on or around January 17 🙏
