  1. An update on this for anyone that is considering doing the same..... Just had my new NX ceramic coated by a detailing company based in Epping (Essex) and am very pleased with the result. I went for the full package so had protection applied to the paintwork, alloys, windows, leather and carpet. For anyone interested, the company is called Reflect Automotive Detailing. A post from the 6th March on their Facebook page shows my NX after treatment - https://www.facebook.com/reflect.automotive/photos/pcb.3105735559755250/3105735429755263/
  2. As mentioned previously on the NX forum, the new NX (and even a Lexus showroom) appears quite prominently in the recently released "Moonfall" movie.
  3. When I ordered my NX350h last September the finance was 3.9% and this was still the rate I got when I collected the car in February. All the paperwork for the PCP was provisionally prepared when I submitted the order and that remained in place throughout. The most you should be paying IMHO is 4.9%.
  4. Hi @DoubleVeteran Welcome to the forum. Are you referring to interior or exterior courtesy lights? If interior then the following extract from the car's manual may be the answer:- If exterior then try this:- Please note that the default duration for this is 30 seconds however this can be changed, albeit only by a dealer (or possibly a DIY job - at your own risk - using Techstream or an OBD solution such as Carista). Hope this helps.
  5. Hi @er-minio Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your purchase. I'm not having any issues with the phone charger on my NX350h combined with my Samsung S10+ phone. The phone stays in place and there's no real movement. I too have seen reports of issues with the iPhone 13 saying that it doesn't stay connected to the charger. I believe this is due to the raised section of the back of the phone where the camera lenses are. Some owners say that it works slightly better without a case attached. The following is from the US owners forum which gives more information:- https://www.clublexus.com/forums/nx-2nd-gen-2022-current/979462-wireless-charging-not-working.html
  6. Hi @Mincey I'll try to help where I can..... High battery usage - this is to be expected I'm afraid with wireless AA, not much you can do about this. Also please note that using the AAWireless device will add to the workload of the phone and cause it to get quite warm and if the phone heats up to a certain degree it will automatically halt wireless charging therefore making the battery drain even faster. On my longer trips (say, longer than 30-45 minutes) I switch back to wired AA. Your Spotify issue - not much I can say to assist you with this I'm afraid as I don't use Spotify in "random" mode. My only suggestion would be to try to narrow down the cause of the problem, e.g. does it work better through wired AA or if you use Spotify outside of AA (e.g. in your house)? Reading text messages - when you get a text message (SMS or WhatsApp) you should get a notification of this in the notification (bell) icon on the AA sidebar. Clicking on the icon will take you to the notification area where you can choose to play the message through the car's speakers. Hope this helps.
  7. Two weeks into my ownership of my NX350h with just over 200 miles driven and I can say that so far I haven't experienced any issues with the run flat tyres in terms of ride quality and noise. Everything in that regard feels and sounds like my previous NX with standard tyres - if not better. Obviously I can't comment on durability and longevity but so far, so good. If and when I need to replace the tyres I'll make a decision then as to whether to replace them with standard tyres but quite happy with them at the moment.
  8. There's both - just above the phone charger. USB-A for connecting wired Android Auto.
  9. My phone is running Android 12 and wireless Android Auto isn't an option in the car I'm afraid (unless I'm mistaken). Will be happy to be proved wrong.
  10. Hi @Bish1402 There are currently 2 dongles on the market that offer the capability of wireless Android Auto. I use AAWireless - https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/aawireless#/ (caveat - this is currently a "crowd funded" enterprise, but I have been using the device for a long time without any problems). This fits very nicely in the NX's little cubbyhole just above the wireless charger. Due to it's popularity you'll likely have to wait a few months before you can get your hands on one. Plus recently a company licensed by Motorola launched a similar device - https://motorolasound.com/audio-products/android-auto/ma1 [Please be aware that these dongles do not give you AA capability if your car doesn't already have it - they just allow the pre-existing AA functionality to be wireless.]
  11. Me too. I can only imagine that it is down to different software licenses between the US and other territories. Maybe the functionality will be enabled one day.
  12. Finally collected my 350h in Sonic Grey with Premium Plus Pack yesterday. It's still early days obviously but my first impressions are that the car is a considerable step up from my previous 2018 NX - both in terms of driving experience and general build quality and of course the infotainment system; etc. is on a different planet. A couple of minor disappointments though:- I had seen some YouTube reviews (admittedly from the US) showing the infotainment system with Amazon Music and Apple Music built in however my car doesn't have this. The guy at the dealership wasn't sure if these would come to UK cars in a future software update. As I suspected there is no wireless Android Auto functionality in UK models (although Apple CarPlay is wireless). Not a real issue for me as I have a wireless dongle adaptor but would have been a nice-to-have. The Premium Plus Pack 20" 5-spoke alloys are a bit darker than I expected but in my case, with the Sonic Grey paint, look very nice. My new NX alongside my old:-
  13. Hi @Don C I collected my 350h with Premium Plus Pack yesterday and can confirm that it doesn't have heated rear seats or sequential indicators.
  14. My NX took exactly a month to travel from Japan to Portbury and then another 4 weeks, via the preparation centre in Derby, to get to my dealer for me to collect. There are ways you can track the ship on which your car is travelling - the way to do this is mentioned on this forum at https://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/130789-tracking-an-order/#comment-1208674 Your experience may vary but hopefully this gives you a rough idea of what to expect.
  15. Congratulations @zanderblue you got there in the end. Looks very nice.
  16. Glad to hear that you can finally see light at the end of the tunnel @zanderblue and I hope that Thursday is indeed the day for you. My car is "allegedly" being delivered to my dealer today with a stated collection day for me of next Saturday but I'm becoming increasingly dubious of anything I'm being told now. I don't think it's the dealer's fault - I think they're being given duff information from Lexus HQ. I know what you mean about it becoming a bit of a saga and not really pleasurable as I'm beginning to feel the same. As you say, hopefully the car will make me forget all that.
  17. Hi Ed - many thanks for your prompt reply - very helpful as always. Someone I trust has recommended a detailer to me so I will speak to him and see what he has to offer - I will definitely mention the GTechniq stuff. Although I love to keep my cars looking clean and shiny I'm by no means an expert. In fact my current NX has survived with a weekly go-over with that waterless wax stuff (please don't judge me 😄) but still looks great (I wonder whether the original owner had coating applied which subsequently allowed me to "abuse" the paintwork!). Is the coating something I should get done as soon as possible once I have taken collection of the car or can it wait a while? If it can wait, is there anything I can apply in the short term (e.g. a good wax or sealant) or will doing that make the detailer's job more complicated? FYI - the car will be garaged for 75% of the time I wait.
  18. Just reviving this thread as like @Marlinleg I too have a new NX on order and wondered what I should be looking at to protect the paintwork and keep it looking like new and easy to keep clean; etc. I'm not having any exterior or interior preparation done by my Lexus dealer prior to sale such as Supagard (or whatever they call it now) as I am led to believe that this type of work is only as good as the person applying it so would want to have that done by a professional, if at all. Ed - May I ask what type of coating you have used in the past? Also, are there any DIY alternatives that I could apply myself? Thanks in advance.
  19. Hi Nick. I had something similar happen to me with my 2022 NX order. The app lost the "Owned" and "Purchased" tabs under the "My Garage" section and the new car then appeared under the "My Garage" page (now without tabs) alongside my existing (2018) NX. So this is what may happen for you too.
  20. I agree - I don't attach any blame on my dealer. I think they are being let down by inaccurate or inconsistent information from Lexus UK. I'm getting a 350h in Sonic Grey / Black & Rich Cream interior / Premium Plus Pack.
  21. I'm pretty much in the same situation as you @zanderblue. My NX has been in the UK for 4 weeks now (last 3 weeks in Derby). The dealer was hoping to have it ready for collection today but obviously that isn't going to happen. I'm not sure why it is taking so long to leave Derby. The dealer is going to contact Lexus UK HQ to try to ascertain what the problem is - my car is one of six that they are waiting on. All of the necessary paperwork has been completed as far as I know - I even have the V5C logbook for it. Also, the Lexus Link Connected Services have now been enabled on the car so ironically I can see the car via the Lexus Link app on my phone - such as the short journey that it made around the distribution centre yesterday and when a door is left unlocked 🤨. So near, yet so far.
  22. The new NX will be my first experience of RFs so I'm not sure what to expect. None of the reviews I have read or viewed of the car so far (and I think I've seen them all 😄) have mentioned any adverse impact on the car due to the RFs - quite the opposite in fact with reviewers saying how quiet the car is and how nicely it drives. I'm not overly concerned about punctures because, as others have said, they are extremely rare (famous last words). I'm prepared to give the RFs the benefit of the doubt for now but if I don't like them, or get a puncture in one early on, I will swap them out for standard tyres and carry a spacesaver.
  23. As well as the marinetraffic site mentioned in previous replies, as the ship gets nearer to Portbury you can view it's estimated arrival date and time using the port's website at https://www.bristolport.co.uk/shipping/forward-movements Or if it gets rerouted to Southampton (as mine did):- https://www.southamptonvts.co.uk/Live_Information/Shipping_Movements_and_Cruise_Ship_Schedule/Planned_Movements/
  24. My understanding of "Build in progress" is that the production line in Japan has "punched in" my car's specifications and colour, etc. and the build has started. For what it's worth, my car went from "Build in progress" to "Left the factory" in the space of 3 days. As a guess I would say that in your case, the build has completed but the car hasn't moved onto the next phase, i.e. been loaded onto a ship for its journey to the UK. Just a guess though.
