Thanks for your reply, not sure if anyone near me has one.... I found this on ebay, it says thats its for petrol cars registered after 2001, mine is a 1999 but do u think it will still work? Hello all, Earlier on today after i finished college, I jumped into my car, started it up and noticed that the car was idling very low when the engine was cold. I thought i'd get it checked out when i got home but as i drove off the engine management light came on and TRC light was flashing, this got me a little more worried so i thought i'd drive straight over to a garage to get it checked. But every time i slowed to stop the car at junctions or traffic lights the car would stall, I started it up again and it kept stalling whenever i stopped. So i get to a garage and asked the guy if he could check it, he said he was too busy and to come back next week. When i got back into the car, started it up, drove a little and all of a sudden it was fine, the engine managment light went off and TRC light stopped flashing and the car is now running fine. the car is due a service, might get it done next weekend. but i changed the spark plugs about 8000 miles ago, and put a new air filter in maybe about 3000 miles ago, so not sure it'll be that. So the question is, what happened? :duh: Has anyone ever had a problem like this before? Should i still take the car to a garage to get it checked out or just leave it? Is it worth buying a OBD2 cable(think thats what its called) and the software so i can diagnose the problem myself? cos i dont think a garage would check it for me straight away if it happend again. or should i leave it to the professionals? this is what really :tsktsk: me off about this incompetent government. they tax the :tsktsk: out of motorists then they expect us to drive on crappy roads like that. I've seen potholes like that get 'repaired' by the council only to be needing repair again after two weeks rant over

I've never had a problem with this bit but then my button tray has been out several times for grom/hands free etc installs so may be looser. For those having problems with it: try pulling it out whilst wearing rubber gloves - should give you lots of grip. Rubber gloves are an excellent idea, that was what i needed but couldnt get hold of any cos i was fitting it quite late. Hando, many thanks for the write up, i followed it and got it done within an hour with hardly any problems. I didnt have to take the whole H/U out, just got it loose enough to feel the connector at the back and plugged the grom adapter in. And thanks to sonnet for discovering this brilliant gadget :D

it was easy, the only part i found a bit difficult was getting the part with the trc/heated seat buttons out, its not easy gripping it, but did manage to get it out. try and get someont to help you with it, it'll make it alot easier. took me about an hour to do :D

got mine today and fitted it this evening, it works perfectly on my 13902 H/U :D

i think its white, not sure :P but i'm pretty sure it isnt burning oil, i've never had to top it up Oil would be blue-ish as said, but have you checked the radiator/reservoir levels i checked not too long ago, it was fine it hadnt dropped. the smoke definately isnt a blueish colour so hopefully its ok :) any ideas on the stp fuel injector cleaner i think its called? is it worth using that to improve fuel consumption a little. I've tried doing a search on it but i cant find anything. I'm sure i heard someone mention it on here....

Hello guys, my car gives off alot of smoke out the exhaust, i've noticed it more now cos the weather is cold, and its quite annoying sometimes when i'm in traffic and i look in the rear view mirror and all i see is a big cloud of smoke building up. I was wondering if anyone heard of an oil called stop smoke and if its any good, or is it something that i should not use? or is there anything else that i could try? also, i know this has probably been discussed a few times before, but is there a fuel additive called stp.. or something like that which MIGHT help improve my fuel consumption? i'm averaging about 20mpg i've had the plugs changed to the denso iridium, gonna try the k&n filter, I've tried higher octane fuel and i get the same mpg on on that than i do with normal fuel (sorry for bringing this up again ) your help is much appreciated :)

I get exactly the same mpg as you do, i've tried spark plug change, made no difference. after i did a ecu reset i ran with vpower for about 6 weeks and it made no difference at all. thinking about trying a K&N filter as a few members have said it might imrove the mpg...

before you try and change the values of the registry, make a backup of it. Otherise if you do something wrong you can really mess up windows and it wont boot

i reset my ecu about 2 months ago, i fill up my tank almost every week and i've not noticed anything different....

i got 270 miles out of out about 55 litres, i'm guessing this isnt normal i think i might try the ecu reset, see if that makes a difference

just make sure ur motherboard can support that much memory. i've used nortons and mcafee and i found that norton used up alot of resources and made the pc lag, whereas mcafee is alot better, it hardly affects the performance of my pc :)

I've never noticed them do a review on a Toyota, anyone ever see one?
