cheers for that do you happen to have the link for in ebay who you got them from seen a few...... looking at 6000-6500k ones seen prolex meccatune ones but bit expensive,the ones of hids4u about £129 and some from hids direct for £79 i think ? just wondered who had what ones i.e what company placethey got them from, and are the more expensive ones going to be any different or any better? cheers for all the reply`s and help. :D someone should start a topic everyone should list what company they got there`s from & price etc what kelvin rating..and rate how good they are would save peeps like me putting topics up as there are so many out there to buy.......would this be a good idea?

cheers for the reply gord, havn't checked the oil for a few weeks now, but last time i did the oil was, well errr oil colour! and was sitting at the correct level ie half way up between the two 'bumps' on the dipstick. apologies as im crap with mechanical stuff, where is the water pump? is it easy to see? EDIT- thanks for the pic, where is that in relation to looking over the engine ie when you first open the bonet EDIT EDIT- Daza, i think the cap ypur referring to is the cap which you use to top up the coolant yeah the filler cap...mine has a small amount of pink coolant around it and the pipe has a little bit of coolant coming from it....not all the time now n then...dno if this is normal? is it coz it is a sealed system and doesnt have an expansion tank ?

Just out of curiosity gord on top of the rad ( left hand side ) you have a plastic cap with a small pipe,is this some sort of over flow pipe....only asking as on top of the cap you can see on mine where the coolant has leaked a little see the red/pink coolant when dry and also can feel when i reach down and put my finger under the pipe that a little bit of coolant has come from the pipe....is this ok and normal? I.E coz the coolant has heated up expanded and just gone out of the over flow pipe...?

Hi i am looking to upgrade my lights to HID`s i have an 2005 is200.....i know its been covered alot and yes you all are saying ( not again) ive looked at all the posts on the forum...i know most people have the 35w HID`s ?? have seen the pro max 55w one`s 1..would there be a prob in fitting these? i.e power wise? i know the standard bulbs are 55w but dont HID`s draw an innitial higher current? 2..would this affect my battery? and would they set off the bulb warning lights on the dash? any help advise or otherwise would be appreciated. just getting the HB4 dipped ones http://www.hids4u.co.uk/store/product.php?...t=18&page=1

as the others have said ...should be ok if you clean the sensors in the morning...its just they are covered in frost ,dirt etc..

I would have a look at your alternator mate get that checked out other wise your new battery will get drained.

Hi mate got it from TDI... mark fitted it for free....its just the back box cost £370...looking to get the the whole exhaust system done next year and then either a turbo or supercharger conversion.

Just an update not getting the blueflame exhaust now it did arrive on my door step with a great big dent in the back box and a few other prob`s so sent it back to them ( with alot of moaning to and from blueflame performance) wont use them again in a hurry!!!.... Now got myself an HKS Silent-Hipower. :) really nice looking zorst and sounds lovely too! will post pics up soon.!

Personally i would go for the IS250 SE-L and then get the "18" alloys of the sport put on the SE-L both are very good ( SE-L and sport )but dont get the manual gearbox go for the autobox..get best of both worlds be lazy and put in auto or flick to sport mode and use the flappy paddles.............OR if ya got the money get the IS-F... :D but thats my opinion and we all like different things.....best bet is to try both the sport & SE-L on test drive (autobox) ;) and dont forget to add the multimedia

Hehe I'm not paranoid about it not starting, I trust 100% it will start, I just don't want it to happen when I'm going to look a ***** - say when I've got a new date with me, a friend or so on! Be interesting to know any answers you get Dazz. EDIT - why does it blank out *****??? It's a kind of chicken for gods sake Well just a quick update about problems starting....well taken to lexus dealership and there answer was as follows.... they know that there is a problem with the occasional probs in starting with the is200...... the is 300 had the same prob from a certain year its to do with the ecu not telling the engine to fire ( The IS300 had a software update for them but the IS200 hasnt got one) they said... I.E like a few have said on here has to wait for the fuel pump to get up to presure depressing and then realeasing the accelerator will help sort the problem out.... So far i have tried it like rob (LOC) and lexus said and so far so good no probs in starting! OH by the way merry xmas to you all.!

i have an is200 sport..personally i would change the diff oil and engine oil every year...best to be safe than sorry!!

Yep just the wim project cars..... The data acquired is valuable to us all. I would be a fool not to compromise the fine-tune fee if the owners is prepared to display wim decal :) i think the fee is fair tony got no prob in paying that for future tune up`s at least we all know that the car will be sorted and will be set up the way it should be....and i would be more than happy to put some WIM stickers like the LOC stickers in my car if they where available..

i know mate its a right pain in the arse lots of people have the prob but knowone has any answers for it..my cars going into lexus hatfield monday so will get them to have a look and see if they know whats the problem and will let everyone know if they find anything.. would also like to say thanks for all the replys and possible answers thanx to all LOC members. :)

Spoke to tony@WIM the other day asking him to fit it,sent an email to the company and they said that you can either use the ones that you have fitted already,get some news ones,or they said to use exhaust gasket sealent as it doesnt matter what you use... will let you know when i have it fitted see if i can use my old one`s..(gaskets) ???????????. Iv rememberd now DOH didnt use any just sealent Has it come yet When i asked blue flame they said that they recomened using exhaust gasket silicone sealent...Hasnt come yet .......hopefully tomorrow :) Just thought id update my blue flame exhaust....Well it came today via Fedex...signed for it unchecked....All excited opened it up and well F****d off is an under statement..id already had to wait 12 days for it to come only to find that the back box had a dent in it..! ......and to top it all of its a cat back system and they havent put in the plug hole for the oxhygen sensor to go in the centre section..!!! :tsktsk: so rang them up and told them what has happend and they are going to take it back and did i want another one made up.( would take another week ).well i said no give me my money back coz 1.. taken to long to come 2...all the fault`s dent.. blah blah blah going to get a HKS silent Hipower just dno if they do a cat back for my is200 or if its just a backbox? where to get one ? totally foooked off.! ahh thats better ...and my rant and rave for today.

Ok cheers rob i was thinking its the battery.its not sluggish when i first turn it over but then do it again and its kinda slowish when it does fire up...what is the best one battery to get i want to fit HID`S so best to get higher amp battery ?? if i change the battery would it set my alarm of and balls my radio up (standard lexus one) and do you change & swap over one wire at a time from old battery to the new one? hi mate i have just bought a new battery,bosch s4 which is asia silver...direct fit from o.e.m & 60 amps which i run h.i.d kit. no it wont set of alarm or mess up radio which isnt coded, but you will have to reset your fav stations disconnent neg lead first & reconnect last onto new battery john Thanx for that john appreciate the reply...would you say that maybe thats the reason why i have the problem starting that i have said about in th topic....... Hopefully getting the HID`S from HIDdirect dno whether to go for the 6000 kelvin or 4500 k one`s think they are HB4 bulbs??
