  1. Dunk ..... watch this space for red and stickers .... clear cote is drying now on the rears. Stickers go on very well if you follow the instructions from LOC. Note I used the "household electrical tool" whilst removing the front paper as well, made it easier. It's looking good.
  2. Chris - what about the Sport 18 inch wheels ( on styling kit ), should they be lacquered on both sides? Mine aren't and therefore collect and show all the rod dirt & brake dust. Not impressed by them ...... but you don't notice until you take them off.
  3. Johnny-Boy - thanks for update. GRIM - best wishes.
  4. Grim - any idea when this group buy is gonna get underway ( as I am getting impatient ) :o
  5. Didn't remove callipers at all. took wheels off ..... wipe down and started painting .... You will see from my previous post I have only painted the front , part of the reason is you can't get the back very well without removal of the callipers. But you can only see the front with the wheel on .... so job is fairly easy.
  6. As promised a picture of the rear one ..... On the corrosion front I have only painted the front half of the calliper ... so will be interesting to see over time if there is any corrosion ... and where. Photos with stickers hopefully to follow tomorrow, weather permitting - it forecast sunshine today but rained whilst I was painting, doh !!
  7. Nige - no primer, straight on with 4 coats of hammerite smooth. Needed 3 brushes though, one inch, half inch and one the size of a kids paint brush for the fiddly bits ..... Kavey as I am "between contracts" at the moment I have plenty of time on my hands to do these little mods. Gotta get them done before I find some work :)
  8. Cheers guys, yes car delivered Thursday. Doing the backs tomorrow and stickers front and rear Wednesday ( weather permitting ). I'm also going to spray a coat of high temperature clear coat over the stickers to keep them on and sealed. I'll post some pictures tomorrow / Wednesday Steve. Just waiting for the silicone wipers to arrive and the group buy on the PIAA bulbs to be finalised .... then there will be a bit more for me to do.
  9. Didn't want to put the stickers on until I was sure I had painted all I could. Cheers. I'll see if I can get a photo of what I mean ....
  10. Just been out there painting the fronts, Hammerite smooth red. Colour etc fine, but I can't see what to do about where the clips are and the back of the pads show through ( clips are goldie colour, andd back of pads blue ). There is these bits showing top and bottom, I didn't like to paint them in case they are meant to move etc. ) ... so it looks a bit naff at the moment ..... what have you guys done / what do you recommend please? You can see what I mean on this picture posted elsewhere... mine looks slightly different to this, but is similar.
  11. No - no choice, but you could always try & negotiate .....
  12. Risky - the styling kit come with the 18 inch alloys . No choice. You could always order the sport then the seperate bits ..... etc. but you then may hit problems with insurance as the car has been modded since leaving the factory. I had problems with mine because the insurance companies don't recognise the "Lexus IS200 Sport with styling kit" as a model .... yet ... I am addressing this with Lexus ( but have sorted mine for now ).
  13. Having just bought one :D the kit consists of 5 spoke 18 inch alloys and tyres, unique front bumper assmbly and rear skirt. This is over and above the sport spec. The only thing you miss is the headlight washers. It is only available in certain colours ( black, silver, blue and red ). See my pic below and also .... http://uk.photos.yahoo.com/bc/steve796uk/l...lst?.dir=/Lexus
  14. It will depend on who is the better driver :) but yours should be the faster car :D
  15. Cheers Chris, I didn't know if it was for the new rain sensing wipers that I didn't know about :D
  16. Was just cleaning and Rain-X on the windows of the new car I picked up yesterday and realised there is a green circular sticker on the outside of the windscreen. It's about an inch and a half in diameter and is above the rear view mirror in the centre of the screen. I don't want to remove it in case it is meant to be there !! Anybody know please?
  17. Just looked on www.autotrader.co.uk and there are 29 between £5k and £6k. So that is a place to start to see what you can get for your money.
  18. lol they are both Scooby and Lexus ....the Lexus is done from another site .... just picked it up from that showroom as it was more convenient. They will be building a Lexus franchise on that site over the next 6 months and the scooby will move. Glad you liked the pics, picked my 16 year old son up from school in it tonight and he was well impressed .... he's still smiling. My new car
