  1. You could just use the sheet tab name as a header instead of using code.
  2. I'll ad another recommendation for the Falken 452s.
  3. It's possible the fitter was being sneaky. They make their profit from selling tyres, fitting itself doesn't make them much money. Maybe he was hoping that negative commentary on the tyres would convince you to buy from him instead. Good year have been manufacturing in China for over a decade now so I'm surprised he hadn't heard of them. I think the tyres made there are designed for hotter and more humid climates than northern Europe though. I got my Falkens from that site and it's early days but I've have had no problems with them.
  4. Eagle F1s are made in China and Thailand and used to be made in Germany I think. If the tyres have an E number on them they should be fine, since plenty of people have used them without any complaints. I was going to go for them myself but had conflicting info about how reliable the Chinese\Thai makes were - and the retailers I spoke to couldn't guarantee the country of origin when placing an order - so I opted for Falken 452s instead. I've asked around and extra load doesn't seem to make much difference unless you're regularly carrying 4+ people and a lot of gear in the boot. The Bridgestones I had on before were XL and didn't hear any complaints about them from tyre-fitting place.
  5. Congrats to you and your family, Gord.
  6. Congrats to Kirsty. Whatever you buy, make sure it's Japanese.
  7. I know it's something of a false comparison since these are new tyres, but the Falken 452s are a revelation. Consider me a convert. Car's handling's improved and it feels much more secure in the wet. I'll be getting the geo done in the new year and hopefully it'll be even better.
  8. Arse. I just bought two Falken 452s from there yesterday (215/45/17) since they couldn't confirm that the Goodyears were made in Germany. Don't appear to be XL. http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.php?plid=m4b0s15p0 Would putting those on be a problem given that most of my driving is city-based or should I return them? Bit surprised they're not XL since I know a number of BMW\Lexus\Merc owners who have them on.
  9. Pretty sure it's only an insurance issue if you go for a tyre with a lower speed rating.
  10. Anyone know how this compares to the BMW M3 coupe?
  11. His name was Paul? Crap, I spent the day calling him Colin. :embarrassed:
  12. Has anybody had their tyres treated with Ultraseal, Protex, Superseal etc? Do they have any significant positive impact on tyre life and preventing punctures? Not sure whether to get it done since a number of these outfits seem geared towards selling franchises and I don't know how effective their products actually are.
  13. Had an excellent time meeting everyone. On the way back through North Yorkshire saw a convoy of ten Mazda MX5s setting off. Looked quite impressive, though not as jaw-dropping as our Lexus convoy of course. :) Looking at bank account now to see what new mods I can afford.
  14. Hi welcome :D More Leeds fans in the club :shutit: [cough]Bradford City fan here[/cough]

  16. Anyone here had their cars debadged? If so, did it it cause any problems later on when you tried to sell the car? And what in particular did you remove?
  17. Same reason we name ships and refer to them as females. It gives a temperamental object a bit of personality. And you end up bankrupting yourself on accessories and maintenance after you make a commitment. :)
  18. Car: IS 200 SE, manufactured Sep 2004, bought used in May 07 from previous owner's estate. Owner was a lady who died in 2006 after which the car had remained in her garage. Had 13,000 miles on it when bought, now up to 15,000. According to the service history, the car had 6000 miles on it when it went in for the first intermediate service at Lexus Swindon in Sep 2005. The car remained inactive during the latter half of 2006 and part of 2007 before being bought by myself. Upon buying it, got it another intermediate service at Lexus Bradford in June 07 as recommended by them. I'd like some advice on when I need to get it serviced next (annually?) and when I should be going for a full service. Current projected annual mileage is pretty small, only 5 to 6k.
  19. If I buy these, do I need any other kit to install them? Hello mate, No nothing else needed as there all direct replacement for the ones you have already fitted to your car. :D Good. What are those £90 kits doing on Ebay? Are they for cars which aren't set up for halogens in the first place? edit: I have a 2004 IS 200 SE. According to the owner's manual, the lights are HB3 and HB4. I assume the Autobulbs Direct set give a brighter light than the factory ones.
  20. If I buy these, do I need any other kit to install them?
  21. I used this. http://www.1010tires.com/tires.asp
