  1. You can select Help within the MM and I think it shows a list of all the commands. Don't recall seeing a list on here though. Perhaps someone with a little time on their hands could list them all...
  2. I have a new Nokia 6300 - fantastic phone by the way. It shows battery and signal strength when connected to the MM. Prior to that I had a 6230 which did not show signal strength or battery. The 6300 claims that you can mark all contacts and then transfer them but it didn't work when I tried it. Must try and give it another go. Connection wise both the 6230 and the 6300 connected seamlessly and without problem. In between I had a Nokia E50 which I found awful to use and kept having problems as far as bluetooth is concerned. Would disconnect without warning etc.
  3. I noticed one of my dust caps was missing (presumably stolen) prior to the last service. I mentioned it when the car went in and they replaced it F.O.C. I don't have the anti-theft ones and I am paranoid that they are all going to get nicked one day.
  4. How did you manage to puncture the same tyre three times? . . . . . He thought he was David Blaine and was parking on a bed of nails and never got further than putting the one wheel on :P
  5. How did you manage to puncture the same tyre three times? . . . . . :tsktsk: unlucky I guess, but to clarify the punctures didn't happen at the same time. One was a nail, one was a sharp stone, can't remember what was in it when it needed to be replaced.
  6. Since having my car IS250 one tyre has had three punctures! The first time it was repairable. The second time it was replaced as it was not repairable. The third time it was repaired. Previous to that my IS200 had a puncture too that was repaired and again there were no problems. I have no qualms about the repairs (and they are a LOT cheaper than buying a new one). If done properly there should be no issues.
  7. Who??? Is there one in Leicester? Oadby Town Centre - just round the corner from the A6 Cheers dude, need to pop into Leicester tomorrow so I might call in there... We have a shop called Instore (would expect that they are all over the place) that have the Flash Kits for £5.99 and the refills for only 99p so needless to say i stocked up! Just Googled Instore and there is one in Oadby, wonder if it is the same store that Jamboo is talking about... My apologies - it is called "InStore" now Don't worry - found the shop and picked some up today. :winky: Even more although still talking about cleaning cars, while I was in Leicester decided to pop round and get my car cleaned for free at Lexus Leciester. I was told now that due to popular demand you have to book your car in!! They take bookings from Wednesday onwards... They did manage to squeeze me in though mainly because I had travelled quite a way, although they are my nearest dealer.

  10. I am actually thinking of a second hand 535d for my next car... :shutit: As well as the SC430, the RX400h, the Boxster... why oh why are there so many cars to choose from!
  11. I don't know many hairdressers that can afford to drive an SL, perhaps an SLK...
  12. I must admit in the last few months I have actually not spent much time on the forums, a combination of planning the "trip of lifetime" to Oz, losing my job, a month in Australia and spending a few months in a state trying to find a new job (which by the way I have now found). With the spell of warm weather we've been having my thoughts turned once again to the SC430 and if I had my time again I think I would have bought one instead of the IS250 but that is another story... Anyway I thought I'd have a brief look at LOC and see what others think of the SC. I can only say I am shocked by the numbers of people disatisfied with their motors (IS250 and 220). Comments about rattles and squeeks abound, dealer ineffectiveness and I am finding it scary. So much so that I wonder if I would buy another Lexus... As I have previously mentioned the problems I have had are minor and usually down to my stupidity or others wanton vandalism and certainly don't compare with others (Jamboo, Eunos800 and digg spring to mind). I suppose I wonder now would others recommend Lexus, would they buy a new car given the lottery that you might get a great car but equally you might get a real lemon. Should I now be looking at perhaps BMW for my next motor, although to be honest even this fills me with dread given my past experience with them. Are faults limited to the IS or does the GS range seem to suffer as many faults??
  13. I live on a farm and go down a dirt track to get to my house each day. While I think black cars looks the business for me it would simply be an impractical colour. At the end of the day it is all down to personal choice.
  14. Eunos800, the letter is neither impolite nor aggressive. It simply states the facts and asks for resolution. I can’t believe they would put a second hand unit in your car. I would be tearing my hair out (what little I have left) if I had been treated this way.
  15. Eunos800 sorry to hear you are having a bad time of things with the car. I can confirm that the feature you describe is on the 2006 model year IS250 SE-L. I hope things improve for both you and Jamboo and that Lexus pull their finger out and sort you both out.
  16. If you go here you can get an online quotation. Just select the vehicle and spec you want and then click on "Get a Finance Quotation". You can also play around with the figures by selecting how much deposit you want to put down and how much you want to pay per month. There are no options for maintenance but Lexus do pre-paid service plans that can be included in the cost of the vehicle or you can buy them separately. I bought a Service Plan 3 (SP3) that includes all wear and tear costs too when I purchased my vehicle.
  17. Are you wearing stilettos when you drive? :D Only at the weekends...
  18. The top of the range screens for the IS250 (SE-L and Sport) have rain sensors.
  19. whats the warranty on alloys?3 years? also why was the mat replaced under warranty?? I would guess the alloys are under warranty for three years. The mat had worn badly where my heel rests for the accelerator. Mentioned it during the 20K service and when I picked the car up a new mat had replaced the old one. I am assuming replaced under warranty as I was not charged.
  20. I too have had my front screen removed and replaced but can't say I have had any problems before or after. Sometimes the wipers would work at full pelt when it wasn't necessary and I realised yesterday that I could alter the setting - definitely a case of RTFM! Other than that they work perfectly. T'other half has a Discovery again with auto wipers, but they seem to contine working when the rain has passed making a horrid squeeling noise (like someone scraping their nails on a blackboard!). Acutally maybe I can alter the setting on that too.
  21. I bought my car in Dec 2005, just after the cars were released so it must have been one of the first batch off the production line. Since buying it and hearing about others problems I have been paranoid about rattles and every now and again if I hear something amiss I turn the MLS down to check. I have heard rattles on a few occassions but it has always been something else - keys in the glove box, briefcase lock but no rattles from the dash at all. I really feel for those that have them. By the way I have a petrol car are the rattles confined to diesels? To be honest after two services in the only problems have been: The Sat Nav reset itself once when I clicked Yes to accept the traffic avoidance information - never done it since All alloys replaced under warranty after one had developed slight bubbling Car needed complete respray on LHS after some scrote keyed it - still not got over that... :tsktsk: New windscreen after it developed a crack New drivers side mat replaced (under warranty) Front number plate replaced (FOC) as it had a crack in it Rear bumber resprayed after I hit a wall (I know I have parking sensors but I was not looking or listening!) Two rear parking sensors replaced (under warranty) after paint started to chip off The sound from my iPod would only come through one side (this was due to the aux cable being faulty so I bought a new one) Nothing that I would see as major and most down to either waton vandalism or my own sheer stupidity
  22. I've already looked up the C Class and wasn't impressed :shutit: I think the new C Class is an ugly car (Big eyes and big nose)...you're probably right about people not having an IS looking at the 'net, but a nice shot of one drifting for a 2 seconds, or coming through flames at the end might have got people more "energised" than those silly beads of water...just seemed cheap... PS - A5 - you do see much more of the car in the ad - that's my point... I don't tend to watch that many adverts as practically everything I watch has been Sky+ and I just zip through the ads. However I noticed the Lexus advert and watched it three times. Gotta admit I really like it. Just some sneak peeks of the car and it certainly makes you want to find out more like Bazza says. I have noticed the A5 advert but that shows even less than the Lexus ad, although I do like the music.
