  1. 2 weeks will cover the install of the new engine, ancillaries and time to sort complications we know of, its the complications that we dont yet know about which may delay the project, in additon we have been asked to fit some other items which will add time. So in short I would like it done in a week if possible but we have to be realistic and expect there to be some hurdles to overcome and put in the addional time to sort ( unpaid for) this is a fixed price project. So any delays cost me not the owner. James
  2. Engine out is the easy bit mate took us a couple of hours, already test fitted the box measured up for some mods, plan is affoot, its a project that is a little bit strange in that we have lots of options in the making, with all the bits here now we can make best choices for the best fit, I cant wait to drive it, of all the projects we have on the go its this one thats getting my full attention start to finished because I have special interest in this conversion. Its my own opinion that this conversion will turn the IS into a fantastic car with the engine it deserved instead of the silly beams duffer. We want a fairly quick turn around on this project as it is used as a daily driver, having said that the will be no comprimise with quality so if I need extra time to jump some hurdles I fully intend to take it. 6. Hi Guys. Thanks for the recomendations, to those that havnt heard about us, please feel free to atleast call or pm for a quote, tell us what you have been quoted by a Lexus dealer or Lexus specialist and I will personally try to offer you a price that you cant turn down, that usually means better and cover your aditonal petrol where possible ( please no scotland customers) If truth were known most buyers like to see a Independant specilaists stamp in the book as Independant specilaist thrive purely on recomendations not the brand. Good luck. James 01252 845645

  13. I strongly advise changinmg your belt at 60k, we have seen too many come in in a terrible condition if left any longer and known them to break before 100k. James

  16. lol awsome pic, when lexus HQ said the belt was good for 100k we knew they were talking right out of theyre tail pipes. Another great example of listening to common sense not dealers who charge £88 per hour for fixing things. James
  17. Do let us all know. James do you find wear is better with the auto Not really. James hi james i was only asking as i have just had belt etc changed,6 years old 85k and looked in very good condition,no record on service history of this being changed and was only 3 years old when i bought it.but water pump was starting to leak :) Ah right perhaps we have stumbled across something then, will look out for that. James Taking my auto in for 100K service and first timing belt change next week. Having read this thread I've decided not to drive it until I take it in. It will be interesting to find out what condition the belt is in :eerrrmm:
  18. should of got the water pump done at the same time as they will need to remove the cambelt etc to get to the water pump. Got it from ebay, was about £55 delivered. Its not an OEM one but sort of is!?!?!? its made in the same factory as the oem ones and using the same parts, just not in a toyota box Jason :P Glad your happy! James
