  2. thank's fella's,i got ot sorted and bought an exide eb1004,720/100ah from parkers for £89.95.will fit on sunday morningand hope it's not as tricky as matus say's.
  3. the battery on my car is about shot and i need a replacement.i have looked in the manual but i can't see a specification as to power output etc.i would be most grateful if anyone has this info. btw,is 220d.
  4. ormi, after fixing those engines is a different type of coolant used and should we all be using this.i don't suppose that you could post the technical service bulletin could you?regards dgman.
  5. i would be very interested if you could point me in the right direction as to where you could fill up for £20.i suspect that you are talking about making your own bio diesel.if that is the case an initial investment of thousands is required.you would be better off putting more overtime into your regular employment imho.
  6. adam,i would start by cleaning the egr valve yourself or try a local mechanic.then run a few tank's of premium quality diesel through and regularly take your car out for a regular dose of italian tuning, preferably up hills and see how you go.
  7. i asked my dealer about three years ago and the answer was no,the 220d cannot run on biodiesel,i think that it clogs up the injectors.
  8. emission control system, nothing to worry about.
  9. use the higher grade fuel as the car does prefer it.
  10. tinka, the next generation is hybrid won't be a v6.it will use a atkinson cycle engine and most probably the 2.4 litre.
  11. You sure it's not coming from the instrument cluster? theres a known rattle that comes from there. It's quite easy to get to aswell. ahmed, could be from the cluster,do you have a guide to remove it?
  12. thank's ahmed,i took out the vent to investigate but i still have the squeek.the strange thing is that the squeek occurs when firing up whilst still being stationary. help anybody?
  13. i would be most grateful if someone could post a guide as to the removal of the radio surround etc as i have a squeek in that area. many thanks.
  14. jeddati,it may be worth your while to seek a written off 220 and fit the exhaust onto your own.if you want to continue with the tesco fuel an additive such as millers will help.the AA advise for dpf diesels is,use higher grade v-power type fuel every third tank to keep the engine free of carbon deposits and ensure complete combustion. you may also find more help on the toyota owners forum. good luck
  15. jeddati,a few questions, 1.how long have you had the car 2.has the fifth injector been replaced under the warranty 3.is your normal driving pattern mainly urban.
  16. Hi fonserg, Can you take a photo of the plate please to get an idea? If I understand well, you have simply made a small hole with 3,5 mm diameter on the actual blanking plate in order to allow just a little bit of gases to pass and to fool the computer and prevent it of showing the warning.] That sounds interesting... Rgds George if you only have a diameter hole of 3-4mm it will soon get blocked with carbon and then the car would go into limp mode?
  17. it is fuse number 11 and is 15a,location is the last fuse in the centre column.you can't go wrong as there is another 15a above it in the same column.see page 297 of your owners manual.
  18. don't worry about the diesel,it's the £4000 engine rebuilds on the 250 that are a concern.diesel is far more robust engine imo.
  19. fairly and squarely aimed at the company car user,i don't fancy going for less power. Less power isn't necessarily a problem. This version has similar BHP to the original IS200, and if the new engine characteristics make it drive even nearly as well as that and also return useful fuel economy; surely IS220D drivers will think they are in heaven in this revised version? Lets face it, it is almost bound to be better - Lexus are not going to be looking for something to dislodge the IS220D from its position as sort of OK, but their worst car ever. the 220 is a heavy car due to the equipment and safety levels.a power reduction for those currently owning a 177bhp model will be very noticeable imho.
