  1. The picture below shows EGR valve No:2 (which has a red sticker on it), there is also EGR valve No:1 which is not visible in this photo.
  2. mine is 06 and now has 63k miles without any of the problems in this thread.
  3. How long does the bottle last? do you need to reapply as often as suggested (or more or less)? i have found that it does live up to the makers claims and a little goes along way, visit detailing world and you will find that carlack is the prefered choice product.
  4. Glass sealant kit, excellent stuff, as with the rest of the products on this link. http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/car-lack-68/cat_54.html
  5. Is that with the petrol? parthiban, yes those problems are with the petrol 250,i don't remember who first posted it but tango will remember i am sure not that he had the problem but i recall him being involved in the thread.
  6. nick, make sure it's a good one, there have been tales on here about partial engine rebuilds.knocking from cold start is the symptom if memory serves.
  7. i don't do the service myself but i use a lexus mechanic for the work at a third of the dealer cost.
  8. steve, buy the sample pack of menzerna polishes from cleanyour car ,they are primarily for use with a machine but you will get results by hand.if not buy a rotary polisher as they are cheaper than a random orbit machine and defect removal is much much quicker.
  9. toros, maybe you asking the wrong question, perhaps you should be asking would you buy a second generation is at all.if you take away the engines in both vehicles you will find that the model has suffered irritations and problem sand lets not forget that the 250 has had engine rebuilds but that situation does'nt seem to strike a chord.i can tell you that at 59k my car has been 100% reliable.next year lexus are introducing a hatchback hybrid with an atkinson cycle engine and i assume that at the next generation of the is the diesel will be dropped in favour of the hatch drive train.the diesel will ultimately be killed off by emmission standards in europe.
  10. the best thing to do is get a car on a three day test drive, zero the trip and bo your normal routes, the trip computer is very accurate and your own opinion is the one you should be listening to.
  11. Hi, you need to get your air mass flow sensor cleaned, You can check how to do that on YouTube by typeing in (how to clean air mass flow sensor). Rav. i have done this to my car and it is very simple, all you need is a cotton bud and meths and a screw driver.i must add that i hav'nt had any running problems,it's just something that i keep an eye on.
  12. I do not use anything other than microfibre cloth, including wash mitts, drying, application and buffing towels. I used to use Autopia in the USA, but with the exchange rate as it is these people in the UK are just as good and market most of the same stuff as Autopia UK site is http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/microfibre-cloths/cat_5.html I used to put the microfibre cloths in the washing machine when I need to clean them, but I find I get better results hand washing in a bucket with Sonus Der Wunder Wasche which is also good for bringing foam polishing pads back like new. Have a look at the detailing guides for alternative polishes and waxes to the Autoglym. tango.try the washing machine again and use white vinegar in the rinse compartment, you will be happy.very cheap white vinegar at asda.
  13. polish is what you need,go with the least abrasive first, when you have removed the etching use a paint sealant for future protection.
  14. i think that whatever you use to apply the srp with you will still have lots of the white chaulky residue.are you trying to remove scratches if so a dedicated polish followed by several layers of paint sealant would be my choice.btw i also have dark blue.
  15. It was only on the front lip, front bumper and the grille surround but I can report it's standing up to the road rash a lot better than the OEM paint. Small stones and crap still mark the clear coat but not so much and it doesn't chip like the original. Quite pleased, and may have the bonnet done when it needs it. B) thank's for that tango,is my memory correct ,are you in the oil industry and are you aside interested in shares.
  16. have you got a durability update on that ceramiclear paint job of yours?
  17. knocking whilst steering at low speed whilst braking is almost certainly brake pads knocking in housings,it was a warranty job for me .done at leics with the sour faced cow.
  18. one to be checked, the boot lid chaffing on the bumper.mine is shortly due for a 60k service but i won't be going to the main dealer as they would not change my wiper a rms which are showing bubbling on the black paint finish.indy price for service is £150 compared to £340from the main dealer.so much for lexus goodwill. ps.genuine parts used by indy too.
  19. this is a forum for lexus owners of which your are not one, your are a pedler imo,you press the button anytime you likeand get on your bike and pedal away.
  20. pjs,i say it as i see it and beleive that you are punting stuff on this site purely for your own self interest and gain.i bet that the loc is one of many forum's where you have posted this thread?so if you think that you get close my account then do it.
  21. another money spinning idea by pjs for pjs, have you paid up your subs to trade on the loc.it's an owners club and not the home shopping channel.
  22. i use the carlack system at a cost of about £25 which is very good and better imo than supaguard, others to consider are zaino and jeffs acrylic.all three are synthetic paint sealants and will give the best shine and protection even against bird waste etching.take a look at, clean your car .co.uk and polished bliss to name but two, good luck.
  23. i have had great wear from bridgestones and am currently running the rears at 28k,tests by the likes of auto express have proved that there is little to choose between the best and the worst as regards noise and wet grip amongst premium brands.so you might as well go for the mile muncher.
