  1. Hi Colin. Thanks again for getting back to me. I've just tried that. Starting the car from cold I pressed my foot on the brake pedal. After about 20 seconds the revs dropped and simultaneously the pedal dropped I'd say about 10 mm. It didn't drop again after that. I tried again from scratch but this time the pedal stayed constant.
  2. Mine has the same and so does my mate who also owns an IS250.
  3. Newbie. Your description sounds very similar to my problem. No pedal judder, more a sensation in the car as a whole..... Through the seat. Replacing the one caliper dramatically improved things but its starting to get worse again.
  4. Hi Colin No, I've tried that and it stays pretty much at the same level. What were you thinking it might be?
  5. Anyone got any ideas as to a solution. When braking, my is 250 feels as though the brakes on easing on and off as I slow down. Quite disconcerting as you're never too sure just how much pressure to apply. I had a rear calliper replaced which made it much better but it's starting to happen again. Is this just the other calliper needing replacement or is there something I'm missing?
  6. I'm sure the ISFs understated appearance and rarity catches a lot of people out...... I'm looking forward to it. :-)
  7. Sounds promising. I'd be up for a mini meet for sure.
  8. I regularly do a similar run and average just over 40 each time. Keep speeds to around 70/75.
  9. Thanks guys. It's a 2008 in Messa Red and although I'd love to attend some meets, being based in Cheshire might make that difficult. Pics will be posted as soon as I get it home. I love the sound of the H&S exhaust but if I'm right, they're based in Norwich so I doubt Ill be doing that trip. Shame really as they do sound incredibly good. Much sharper and 'raspier' than any others I've heard.
  10. Having owned an IS 250 for the last 6 years I'm now adding an ISF. Just thought I'd introduce myself in the hopeful anticipation of support/help in the future. I've enjoyed reading the forum entries to date. You sound like a decent group but...... ;-) Take ownership of my ISF around the middle of August. Can't wait! I'll post some pictures once I get 'her' home........ Are they female or too butch for that?
  11. I have a 2008 is250 and have owned it from new. Over the last 30k or so the oil consumption has increased dramatically. I estimate I'm going through about a litre every 1k miles now. Has anyone got any ideas what might be causing this. There's no smoke or oil leaks and the emissions have always been ok at mot time.
  12. I've done 105k in my is250 and developed the left hand pull around 25k. It had a steering rack change and has had the tracking checked three times between then and now....and it still does it. Really weirdly though. When the wheels have been taken off for pad replacement or tyre changes, it's not as noticeable. Then it gradually gets worse. I appreciate that sounds like nonsense but trust me its true. The dealer got fed up with me, and I got fed up with them. Hence why I still have the problem. I've taken it to lots of places but I have never managed to resolve the problem.
  13. My lexus is250 has now covered 105k. I've owned it from new. Up until it had covered 60k there was no discernible oil usage. Since then, once filled to the max on the dipstick, it takes about 5k miles before it is at the bottom. I was concerned about this but like you, it's not smoking or running badly.
  14. HI. My 2008 IS250 has covered 87k. Since the 60k service I have had to top up the oil between services. Wouldnt worry too much about it. As the engine wears, it will be more inclined to use oil. Additionally, bargain hard with your dealer over servicing prices. They ae desperate for the business. I always end up getting about 20% offtheir initial price.
  15. Despite a number of visits to the local dealer and several attempts to put it right, my car still puls left. They have replaced the rack, checked the tracking three times bu still no success. The dealer claims this is now down to the fact that I have replaced the original Dunlops with two brand new Falkens. What does everyone think? I personally think they havent got a clue and are just guessing. They claim to have put two new dunlops on and that it sterred straight but they didnt leave them on for me to check!
  16. Hi Guys. Heres a hands on view. I drive a IS250se auto and my wife, a BMW 320se auto. I therefore have access and use of both cars. With both sets of keys in my hand, its the Lexus every time. Even after 18 months of ownership, I love driving the Lexus, thats what its about. Forget the comparisons! As for my wife, she wishes she'd saved herself £8k and bought the Lexus.......especially when we go to get them serviced. Different class.
  17. Always haggle with them. Ive just got a price of £270 for a 40k service on my IS250SE. Bolton Lexus. Good team too.
  18. Other replies may be right but I disagree that the original paintwork wont be an issue. Mine certainly is. Ive got a Slate coloured IS250. Not got the same problem but the stone chipping on the bonnet and the ease with which the paintwork scratches is unbelievable. Took it in to have it looked at and the answer was 'Paintwork is of the correct thickness etc etc etc' They missed the point. Im not saying it isnt. Im saying that it marks and chips far too easily. Not getting anywhere with my complaint but if you do, keep us informed.
  19. Since buying my IS250 in January I am concerned at how easily the paint chips off. The bonnet already has several chips, some of which are quite big. The Slate Grey colour doesnt help as the light colour primer underneath makes them stand out but is anyone else experiencing similar problems? If so, has anyone done anything about it?
